Now granted this was Dyche’s first home game in charge rather than simply his first game but I can think of (what feels like) a ridiculous amount of games going way back deep into SAF’s reign where the first game under a manager is against us and we never seem to fecking win.

Are we cursed by this or something?

Wolves always seem to play us in their first game with a new manager

I long held the belief clubs would wait to sack a manager until we were due to play them next.

I do remember though Dagliesh taking over at Liverpool the second time and us turfing them out of the FA Cup so theres one time at least.

I think you'd have to hold a very overblown opinion of United to believe clubs care enough about us to sack managers right before they play us.

If we lose often against teams with new managers it's more likely to be because we're often crap, rather than every other team putting in super human performances to beat us

You just knew we weren’t getting to play them during Anges reign of terror.

That being said, Ange v us etc

We need to be a lot smarter when 1 up.

re Wolves, their manager will be gone before we play them too. It’s just coincidence, West Ham surely won’t be as wretched as today when that rolls around either

It's not really about that, it's like other teams (including direct rivals) get to play these teams when out if form and thrash them and we often don't.

As mentioned above we have Wolves and West Ham who have been abject but will likely be in better form come the time they play us.
