If I was a player for Giggs I'd have no respect for him. Glad he didn't get the United job and a club legend who was happy to be in the background is at the wheel instead.
I am not justifying what ryan did. There is a million post from me condemning it. However i fail to understand how one can capitalise on such a horrible event in his life especially when society was starting to forget all about it. Is money so important for rhodri to pass from that whole ordeal again? After what happened he lost his wife and his brother. All he was left with was dignity . Unfortunately he sold that in a third rated advert

There was a good little interview with Rhodri in some crap tabloid a week or so ago about how he felt the advert was taking the piss out of himself more than taking shots at his brother, and he went on to say he has tried to bury the hatchet with Ryan, but so far it hasn't been reciprocated.

Just saw the ad at full-time of today's game on Sky and they changed a bunch of jokes in the backgrounds - "The Wandering Cock" picture frame was replaced by a painting of flowers and the newspaper headline now says "Ole Ole Ole". I guess they had to sanitise it for day time television.
I think the ad is hilarious. Harmless really but a pretty sad state of affairs for the Giggs family.

I really don't see how people are reading this ad as Rhodri losing his dignity. He's making something positive from something negative that happened to him, laughing at himself and having an entirely fair dig at Ryan in the process. That's dealing with things well as far as I can see.

It was Paddy Power's idea and what they do is banter. Rhodri decided he was fine being a pawn in that because, you know, fancy cars and shit. And based on the response in here I'd say PP achieved their goal of giving footy fans a bit of banter to laugh about. Every aspect of which is tragic from my perspective.Holy shit
