We have never gone four goals down by half-time in the PL era i.e., before today. Ole's United are certainly setting records.

Our owners on the other hand will come back tomorrow with a show of confidence in the manager and his vision of the future and the fact that they are firmly behind him.

This will hurt forever and ever. This won't be forgotten. Not by us and certainly not by the scousers. Both the players and the manager should be ashamed of themselves. This is how much passion we have against our arch-rivals at home.

It’s a game that will be held over us just like the City 6-1.

Yeah when you start breaking unwanted records like Moyes did that should be the end and like @Salus Populi Suprema Lex just said we are exceptionally lucky they showed mercy on us at 5-0 we deserved to lose by 7/8.

That was truly a shambles that we witnessed yesterday.

Here is another record that was intact against another of our closest rivals before Ole took charge:
We had never lost at home against City in a cup competition... and then two came along at once...

7th January 2020
League Cup Semi-final 1st leg
Utd 1-3 City

6th January 2021
League Cup Semi-final
Utd 0-2 City

This was miles and miles worse.

We got a red at 1-0 down that game and capitulated at the end when it was 3-1.

This was complete humiliation from start to finish. If they didn't let up, they might have scored 2-3 more.

Yup. The City 6-1 flattered them. This result flatters us. Miles between the two games.

Would have preferred it tbh. There would be nowhere to hide for Ole. Granted there's no where to hide after 5-0 but still.
5-0 it's as bad as it gets, even 4-0 is total humiliation.

If it had ended 8 or 9-0 instead we would had been served the same "not good enough" "fine margins" "not clinical enough" bullshit.

Totally agree. It’s just going to be awful for years though. Even Newcastle fans still go on about their 5-0 win even though we’ve smashed them 5-6 nil a few times since.
