That has 0% happening.Especially as infrastructure isn't linked to PSR, so that money can come from owners, sponsors, people's council tax ()etc.

You’re not going to get constant updates like a transfer, it’s not gone “quiet” at all, there’ll be updates, when there’s updates.Has all this gone quiet?
I guess soYou’re not going to get constant updates like a transfer, it’s not gone “quiet” at all, there’ll be updates, when there’s updates.
It’s a long drawn out process that will take months to take shape, once they start building , which I hope is this year things will start to take shape and we can get a better idea of how things will lookI guess so
Finally, some realism.I work in construction. The visuals of the area are a pipe dream. It won't be looking like that for 20 years, if ever.

I might be totally wrong - I don't think it should affect current finances as I would image the majority of the stadium cost will be a loan - the club will show how that money can be repaid through extra revenue the stadium will generate.I worry that this stadium plan/pipe dream allows the club to justify not spending a single penny on OT in the meantime. Which makes sense if the new stadium is a sure thing, but I have this feeling that the new stadium won't materialize (which I'd be delighted about, personally) and that Old Trafford will continue to be neglected for the next 5+ years while the 'regeneration project' is still on the table.
Forget a new stadium. We don't need one. Why is regenerating the area around Old Trafford contingent on a new stadium, when the current one is already an attraction for almost 80k people every other week? Can't we beautify the outdoor area and do all the other stuff they want to do without a new stadium? Also, people don't travel around the world to go see the stadium, they go for the whole package, which surely starts from having a team worth watching, above all else.

My bad, I didn't intemperate what you were saying. It likely will I'm afraid!Oh sure, but my post wasn't really about that, I don't think? My point is that having a new stadium plan on the table gives the leadership license to justify not spending more money on OT. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post.
This shouldn't be a priority in all honesty. We jed a proper football team first
If the gossip around this stuff is accurate then I think Ratcliffe has already decided that if he owns it, we won't be doing much other than painting the stair rails and filling in the holes in the concrete. They see a bigger stadium and the multiple changes around it (better public transport, more opportunity for non-matchday revenue etc, the chance to sell United land in the area) as potentially self-financing.Oh sure, but my post wasn't really about that, I don't think? Qatari ownership would have aligned that
Yes, as they'll be working on finalising the design of the stadium and infrastructure. More than likely be tail end of the year we get final design, then it'll have to get planning permission.Has all this gone quiet?
It will be funded the same way Spurs funded their stadium and pretty much how everyone else funds theirs, in many ways little difference to how regular people purchase their housesCan anybody with insight into the financial cost explain how this will be funded? I know the government will help with the development outside the stadium but we’re in a dire situation at the minute. Unless there’s an absolutely massive sponsorship for the stadium naming rights it sounds like hot air
Yeah we’ve been rinsed dry from those American leeches since 2005.It will be funded the same way Spurs funded their stadium and pretty much how everyone else funds theirs, in many ways little difference to how regular people purchase their houses
United are in the position they are in because of how the dealt with their debt in the past, if it had been managed properly they wouldn't be this position, they have the income to service the finances required to build the stadium as long as they do it properly
They were showing the promotional ad for the new stadium on MUTV during the game yesterday.https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/how-to-get-involved-with-the-academy-wall-at-old-trafford
"Manchester United is proud to construct 'The Academy Wall' at Old Trafford, a large mosaic featuring 14 homegrown heroes made from almost 20,000 fan images. This is a unique chance for fans to upload a photo and enshrine their memories into the fabric of our home.
The mural has been designed to celebrate the club's motto of “youth, courage, success” and honour the unique story of our Academy. It is to be installed in the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand tunnel and the panels are guaranteed to last for a minimum of five years.
With United due to build a new stadium, this is a last chance for supporters to be part of Old Trafford’s history while they still can"
Firstly why would anyone pay to be on a wall they're going to knock down in 5 years.
Secondly this is the first time I've noticed the club mention the new stadium since it was announced.

This is just factually incorrectSo the club is, one one hand, considering selling the only genuinely world class player we have, the captain of the club, to raise funds.
When are people going to realise that spending money on players and infrastructure aren’t the same thing. So the club is, one one hand, considering selling the only genuinely world class player we have, the captain of the club, to raise funds.
At the same time brandishing designs for a 2 billion quid new stadium.
Ratcliffe is full of shite. I'm in my 50s, and i doubt this stadium will exist in my lifetime.

Said that from day one. Pie in the sky project anyway. Glazers don't put a cent of their own money into the club and then you have Jim and co looking at ways to save as many pennies as possible. UK government who they think will fork out aren't going to be that interested in something not based in London. This shouldn't be a priority in all honesty. We jed a proper football team first

The money for the stadium won't be coming from the same pot that we spend on players. No club has £2b lying around in an account, so there will have to be investors and/or financing for the stadium.
You do know that we have both psr and cash flow issues? When are people going to realise that spending money on players and infrastructure aren’t the same thing.
Player purchases are regulated heavily by FFP & PSR, spending on the training ground, stadium etc aren’t.
We could have all the funding in the world be we still need to sell players in order to balance the books as far as FFP and PSR goes.
No.Does anyone truely believe we’re getting a new stadium?
What ever?Does anyone truely believe we’re getting a new stadium?
It won't happen unless the government agree to pay for a new freight depot off the M6, so there is no need to think about it until we hear about that. If they do, then a new stadium could be on.Does anyone truely believe we’re getting a new stadium?
