Thoughts on the design?

- Open to all supporters. Should be ST holders and qualifying members.

- Trialling the new American style two tier ST system where you 'book' a seat for up to 30 years. Access to the Taylor Swift concert etc. Touts dream, prices through the roof.

- ST prices behind the goal in this survey are projected about 33% higher. That will be the cheapest in the ground.

- This is the 3rd nonsense survey in a year regarding the new ground dressed up as asking the fans. In reality they will do what they want.
These would be for prices from 2031 at the earliest though right?

We seemed to have had very different questions. My survey was mainly about fan experience and what I wanted for the area around the stadium. They asked if I would want the museum to be located away from the stadium and asked me how I travel to the ground and how long the journey takes. Only saw one question about price and it seemed genuinely affordable, it gave me like 4 price options and all seemed relatively low given that it’s a new stadium and these will be prices from 2031 at the earliest.

I dont think we had different questions, I think we have vastly different levels of expectations / trust.

After witnessing the members price rises this season I have zero faith in anything good coming from this. They've shown their colours.

Just did it and didn’t think it was too bad. I wrote about keeping it like a football ground and not a theme park where I could. The touted prices of £640-800 for either end didn’t seem too bad. That’s what I’d expect to pay at OT (albeit we’re on the waiting list and don’t know the actual prices).

They’ve clearly got premium seating, although none of it was in the Stretford End and only the middle tier in the East (if it’s called that) was premium seating. I didn’t pay too much attention to the cost of the seating in other areas of the ground.

This is pretty much in line with what I got. I don't think we could have expected better for a stadium costing over £2bn opening in 2031 or later. With the rate of inflation, those are good value. I genuinely don't think the club can appease a portion of the fan base unless tickets were going for a tenner.

Average member tickets now are £78 behind the goal. Last season it was £51.

Do we all just shut up and take it?

Hundreds were moved from the south stand where they sat for generations for a now hospitality only section.

While at the same time OAP tickets were raised 50%.

It's just about ok now, and you are looking at these proposals telling me its all going to be fine?

And the £10 stuff is patronising nonsense.

Spot on.

There needs to be more of an organised protest against all this shite. They're killing what was left of our fan culture.

Considering everything, the atmosphere remains decent at OT but it won't stay like this for much longer.

Agree.
The atmosphere is dead inside most of the PL stadiums because... In the words of Micky Flannagan....The working class might show up, sing 'My old man's a dustman' and create an atmosphere.
They can't have us ruin their 'Ambience'.

Old Trafford is still good. Stretty lower, even tier two. East stand, J stand, they all retain core support of ST holders.

But the acceleration to kill it has really ramped up since INEOS took control.

The Mercedes one and US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis were built around the same time. They made a far better job of the latter. Insane place, both aesthetically and functionally. Probably the best stadium in the world at the moment. Loud as fcuk inside too

The Minneapolis one is a thing of absolute beauty; I think you’re right about potentially being the best in the world.

Delay, downgrade and finally shelve.

Which is exactly what I wrote 20 pages back.

He's not interested in the stadium at all, he's using fan pressure to get a slice of a much bigger tax payer funded development pie.

He's not bothered about the standard of the team, that's a side show compared to the assets that could be available.

As he's not going to get his way it seems, he'll need to incrementally move the narrative towards the shelving of the scheme and a fanfare for some moderate OT refurb.

I'm glad sometimes billionaires don't get their way on exploiting situations like this.
Like Ratcliffe or not. You can only judge him on what he has done so far. Which is a lot more than anything the Glazers have done, ever. In terms of investment, structure and organisation, he has done more good than bad. It's a fair judgement in my opinion. I'm not fan of the ownership structure that we currently have, or Ratcliffe to be honest. Your post is speculation based on nothing. I think Ratcliffe's intentions around making us good again are genuine.

Thought this was an interesting watch. Sounds eerily similar to what they're trying to do with our new Stadium. Seems like these seat licenses are going to become the norm with new stadium projects.

It feels like modern society is just a never ending parade of get rich quick schemes with businesses offering you less and charging more than they did in the past.

I agree, I do think season tickets will be the thing of the past withing the next 5-10 years, especially with sporting venues becoming more than offering the sporting event.

It was a good watch. How about the single mother buys one for herself and her daughter? She's doing well. Ex-husband is probably paying for it. hard to believe you put a down deposit on a seat and then buy a seat that has also gone up. The city pays for most of the stadium.

But excluding or not valuing the opinions of people who have turned up week in, week out despite us being us being shite is an interesting tactic.

I said a while ago that the club will eventually come to regret pissing off its core matchday support and only chasing the tourist dollar. The latter will only turn up if the club is doing wel

Perhaps they have an opportunity with the new stadium. Rather than fill it with the “prawn sandwich brigade” perhaps they can carve out 20,000 seats for the working man ? Maybe they’ll put something round our necks to measure how much sound we generate ? If you sing and shout a lot it’s £50 or otherwise it’s £100. Or if you’re really forward thinking perhaps we don’t need a stadium at all. Just a pitch and an AI generated crowd. For the global masses who don’t even know where OT is will they know the difference ?

This is fabulous news. Let’s crack on. Does anyone think they could be ready for the Euros ?
I very much doubt it. They've not even started getting any actual work done. No contracts signed, no financing secured, no clearing of the future build site started, and so on.

Seems like the things are moving again.

Ah wonderful. The final nail in the coffin of our support.

Buzzing for the club to "move with the times" which will mean seat licenses, £15 fried chicken and chips labelled as "street food" and another massive price hike which will mean the end of kids being able to afford going to matches and getting used to live football being a one game a season treat.

Did it ever stop moving?? My understanding was this was always going to be a sticking point so was always part of the process.
Yes, there was always going to be a compromise, since United doesn't want to waste time and the freight liner doesn't want to get forced by the MDC to sell at market rate. But since it wasn't all smooth sailing, some people were acting like it wasn't happening.

No, we've only seen concepts... we'll have to wait and see what the designs look like.
Those images are close to what Sir Jim wants apparently & with the freightliner deal now seemingly making headway, it’s more likely than not that we’ll have the canopy

2030 I reckon is a reasonable timeframe
I suspect it will be longer than that, some of the transport infrastructure will need to be in place for the increased capacity, without it I doubt they'd get a safety certificate unless capacity is capped to current levels until the infrastructure is completed

No, but a few weeks passed and people didn't see excavators moving in so just assumed it must have all been a PR scam.

Weve only had concept design, I'd say we're 6 months minimum away from final design.

Theres a lot of variables involved, one of the biggest ones will be who picks up the bill between ineos and the Glazers.

I might still be alive to see it, whether my knees will be up to the park and stroll are another matter
