Ancelotti would be easy to get as he manages an international team. He’s also one of the best most flexible coaches. He’s played so many systems in his career and gets the best out of his players and star players
Should of been our manager years ago for me

I'm coming round to Ancelotti given Enrique is never going to happen. At this point I'd just like someone with the personality and experience fit for the job, even if it's not long term, and I think he'd be open to joining to add to his set of major clubs. Give him a good set of players and he'll get a good team out of them, which will hopefully be something to build off rather than these constant resets and "he'll need a season to implement his style".

He's 66 and only just joined the Brazil setup. It think it's a leap to suggest he wants to pivot back to such a big project and a rebuild with us at this stage of his career after he's barely been an international coach for a few months.

He has a contract until the world cup. I think there's been chat of renewing prior to the tournament, and obviously if that happens we can rule it out, but otherwise still plenty of time for Fergie to call him up and talk about old times.

Ah thanks, I didnt know it was a one tournament contract.
In that case just the age that worries me, he's been managing at absolute top level since quite a young age. He may or may not be attracted who knows. Would love him here for sure.

Go and get the best in class and back them to the tilt. Show some ambition.

Enrique. Or tuchel. Serial winners. Proven. Have managed huge clubs with mass egos.

Champions league winners, league winners.

Ancelotti honours.

3x CL with Madrid.
2x CL with AC Milan
3x fifa world club cups
4x Worlds best coach
League titles in Spain, France, England, Germany, Italy
Domestic cups in all those countries too.

He’s also 66 not 70.

Can he handle the pressure having managed AC Milan, Juventus, Real Madrid (twice)
Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG (amongst others)?

I said nearly 70 he'll be 67 just before the world cup, I think with his age and the club not being set up to win immediately would be a factor as by the time he has built the team correctly he would be into 70's most likely

I still think the top target will be Tuchel.

It's just whether they can come to some kind of agreement on the transfers.

That’s a straw man. I never made any claims based on them being ex Utd managers.

Anyway, have you been in a coma for the past two years?

Ange took Spurs to their worst ever PL finish (which was somehow even worse than our worst ever PL finish that same season under Amorim), and then he went to Forest where they continued sinking like a stone around the relegation spots after getting into Europe the previous season. Sacked after 39 days. And he’s someone we should bring here!?!?? Absolute madness.

I do not want Ole back, but I’d take him in a fecking heartbeat over Ange Postecoglu.
And I also gave a list of other available managers which you have conveniently glossed over.

No doubt, Ole is better qualified and suited to the United job in your mind?

We need someone who is proven at the highest level like Ancelotti or Tuchel.

I really don't get the hype around Glasner and Iraola, and I think the "Premier League proven" thing is overhyped. Look at how Potter and Frank have done at Chelsea and Spurs, and they arguably did a better job at PL mid-table teams than Glasner and Iraola have. What has Glasner actually done to deserve serious consideration for the United job?

I didn’t “conveniently gloss over” anything. I took particular issue with one of the names you listed and then explained exactly why I thought suggesting that particular manager was insane.

Why on earth would we bring in Ange as interim after his last two very recent failed stints in the PL? It doesn’t make any sense at all.

I’ve already stated I don’t want Ole back. Nonetheless, he is better qualified and suited to the job than Ange fecking Postecoglu is.

Ancelotti is not done.
He was only just at Madrid.
He is with Brazil.
He’s 66, Fergie retired at 71.
O’Neill still has it at 73.
He is class, two to three year contract to end his career in style.
He’s the best coach around that would come. A proper manager.
Yeah would only put Enrique above him in priority, so him or Tuchel are the most realistic elite managers we could get
We'll get a manager who we won't have to pay compensation for.
Yeah the elite names will be too pricey for INEOS

I think you’re using the wrong person mate. He’s at least won a couple of things with palace. Iraola on the other hand hasn’t won anything. I don’t want either though. Glasner is defence first in my eyes. Not what we need

I'm using Glasner as the example as he is the one being reported most seriously. Yes, he has won the FA Cup (and actually the EL with Frankfurt, which I seem to forget), but that doesn't change the fact that we need someone with experience from the very top of European football.

But I agree, Iraola's case is probably even weaker than Glasner's.

We definitely need someone proven at the highest level but doesn't seen important enough for these clowns

Yes, we are definitely run by a bunch of negligent idiots. After the disasters of EtH and Amorim, I wonder what would make the management sit down and decide: "Oliver Glasner is surely the answer!"

Because like someone earlier said he will be cheap and they will take any option to save money

The club is likely to look for a manager whose contract is expiring because they don't want to pay the compensation.

This along with the PL experience requirement makes the top 5 something like:

  1. Tuchel
  2. Ancelotti
  3. Iraola
  4. Pochettino
  5. Glasner

I don't see where the notion the club wouldn't pay compensation come from. We went out of our way to pay it for Ashworth and Amorim, extended ETH only to make sacking him more expensive

Keeping Wilcox influence on the manager whilst also being the cheap option.

Tuchel and Ancelotti (?) would be free after the world cup
Yeah would be delighted if we could get either as fear Enrique is being lined up to replace Guardiola. Having said that INEOS need to be at least pitching an interesting project to him if we could somehow get UCL

Yeah, pretty much this if the compensation thing is true. Can't really decide on Tuchel and Ancelotti myself, and I think Iraloa, Poch, and Glasner are equally questionable hires.

I might go
1. Tuchel or Ancelotti

.....
2. Iraola, Poch, or Glasner.

Yeah would put those at same level, if a player had a year left on deal we wanted to sign would look at it, so do the same for best manager outside of Guardiola too

He’s 4 players away from competing. Let’s see how our midfield looks today.

I think Glasner would be a poor appointment. Yes he can set up with a number of systems however whichever system he deploys he is a defence first, on the back foot, re-active coach and I dont think that translates well to a top side.
Couple that with the fact he will be coming off a poor season with palace which won't inspire anyone
