Who should manage us next?

This is fully on the board. Any decent managed elite club would have already a list of permanent managers ready. Only we are fecking stupid to go on with the caretaker road for months and are even seriously considering a previous sacked manager who was deemed not good enough.

Just a build up of bad decisions. This had nothing to do with Fletcher, set up nicely. 343 was not working so this is not hindsight either but now we need wingers.

So what have we been building. It’s going to take an elite coach to get us out of this. Interim, I’m not sure… maybe pick the best man manager just to select the right players based on mentality.

But again that’s fans throwing shite at the wall and then getting angry when it doesn’t stick.

You’ll get better continuity selecting a new manager in the summer with the correct backing and a good pre season. Who are we taking away from there club now that sets us up for a good two years.

If it's true that Glasner is our top target in the summer then we should just do whatever it takes to make it happen now.

It seems pointless plodding on with an Interim for the remaining 17 games.

Ole's odds have been cut to the shortest they've ever been after the brighton debacle.

Looking like it will be him. Reported to have had a meeting yesterday with the senior management.

Wouldn't be surprised if its announced on Monday to mask the weekends failure.

That's because he's the safest choice now. If we'd won today, the board may have kept Fletcher on or given Carrick a chance.
After todays shambles, it'll be Ole with the board hoping he can turn the tide.

What happens if he can't? What if we nosey dive down the table - we are capable of losing to any side. We might be joint 6th in the table but we are closer to 16th in points than we are 3rd. Things could get really bad.

I certainly won't be blaming Ole.

Ah yes the mighty Glasner, guaranteed to bring the glory days back

Given our decade long strategy has been to reward mediocrity with long term contracts, he's a perfect match.

"game model"

Was actually hoping it would be carrick. But I suppose ole is “safe hands”

He's not my Ideal choice but if that's who we want I'd rather just get on with it.

I doubt most top managers would even be interested unless they are just looking for a big payday.

If the rumours Luis Enrique is leaving PSG in the summer are true, I wouldn't look any further than him.

I get the Ancelotti thing but I could do a half decent job with that Madrid team + he wasn't great at Everton.

It'll just be the next mistake, another 18 months of glum.

We need Enrique or Tuchel and our "best in class" leadership team need to do their job

Have to get a big name coach in the summer all out for Enrique or Ancelloti no hipster coach's please we need proven pedigree.

Then when they come in, none of these neither here nor there project signings, let's be ruthless and move the averageness on in Dorgu, Dalot, Shaw, Zirkzee and Ugarte and buy some top class players for a change.

Will have had alot of time to unravel some financial mess and alot lower wage bill, top class fullbacks and central midfield signed please

Tuchel, Ancelotti, Enrique. Feels like Tuchel is the most realistic. We need a gaffer with some gravitas.

I don't get this, the World Cup final is on 19 th July, so if England get to it, then it'd be late July/early August before we'd even stand a chance of getting him in, and quite possible not at all given the clammer they'll be for him to stay on, and is he just misses out then there is every chance Tuchel himself might want anpther shot at it at the Euros.

Plus we've already interviewed Tuchcel for the job before, so there was something someone didn't like as he was a far easier and safer option than Amorim ever was.

But even if he did come it'll affect pre season, summer window, etc.

Just get someone who is available.

Fair points on the timing, I did not dig into that. I get that we would for sure want the new Manager in as soon as possible.

I just don't want some 'pretty good' EPL manager for our next one. I'd love to have one of those 3. And to your point that probably cannot happen, which sucks.

Reapproaching Tuchel can happen, it would just need to be wrapped up before the tournament's start like we did with LVG.

Same goes for if we approach any WC coach

Tuchel will be a big pull for Anderson given the way he has treated him with the England team, he's basically the main man now.

If we're going to suffer with an Interim then a Tuchel+Anderson package deal in the summer seems the most logical route forward to be competitive next season as it's looking pretty bleak after that cup exit.

We did that with Amorim. Just saying.

Time to forget elite manager appointment, rightfully so none of them will want a part of this shitshow

What's not to like as a manager? Decent financial backing, lots of patience, low expectations from everyone involved. Yeah the higher ups might be a bit average, but it's not all bad. Get your song sung by 75.000 three weeks in!

The more I think about it the more Conte makes sense. He's a proven winner at every level. The only reason not to appoint him is cowardice from the ownership because, if he's not successful, then it's clearly the club and not the manager.

I'm going to say something and then probably get a load of stick.

I think Gareth Southgate might be the best option for interim. Solid, unspectacular. Never won anything with England but they didn't embarrass themselves either.

Then get Enrique in the summer.
You are dreaming pal, Ratcliffe loves Southgate so dreadful idea because will never get him out of the club

Yup he is also my choice. But, building on your cowardice angle, since he would happily call out the owners for not supporting him, that also makes his appointment unlikely.

We better do everything we can to get either Tuchel or Conte. I am fecking done with the "talented" may be good enough managers. We need someone to sort us out defensively.
Simeone, oh yeah just remembered what I said not long ago but no elite managers wanting any part of it

Outside of Ancelotti and Enrique he's the only one who could win the league in the next 3 years.

Ia actually agree. And if we cant get Enrique get Tuchel or Conte. Don't think Southgate would join for a mere interim job though
If only those three could see past such a shambles of a club and think yeah I will soon get them better organised defensively

Our only 2 successful managers post WW2 were Busby (a former City and Liverpool player) and Fergie (the last man to win the Scottish top flight at a club outside of Glagow.)

That means the man for the job is either James Milner or Derek McInnes.

Definitely need someone to give these bastards a proper kick up the backside and tell them to stop being lazy twats.

On top of that we don’t really have great full backs for a back 4 anyway so I reckon Conte would be the best choice for a few seasons to solidify us in the CL spots until we’ve sorted the midfield with transfers, then when he inevitably falls out with the board we can switch to a back 4 manager and buy full backs.
