I was thinking about this in the car this morning, they need to pick a style / vision and then appoint a boardroom team / coaching team/ staff and sign players to suit. But they dont need to reinvent the wheel, they need just to copy and improve upon whats worked recently. You can see theres a clear playing style / recruitment policy at the most successful teams currently like Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City.
then i got depressed, do we have a template in terms of how club / team structure operates for them to emulate?

it was a tasteless joke and everyone is fully aware.
Maybe it was a tasteless joke, but I think it's a tasteless joke that should be brought up as often as possible.

Don't let people forget.

Hopefully they get relegated. Mick McCarthey or Neil Warnock would be nice.

Is he still around? I always associate him with Wolves. No idea what he's done since then.

Rodgers is very much as per the oil club playbook, shortly followed by a raid on Leicester's best players.

Thankfully Utd have Ole tied down with contract extension, so Newcastle can’t try and lure him away!

But seriously, they’re a wealthy club with an underperforming squad and they need someone to come in and ‘lift the mood’, so the only logical appointment would be a club legend who’s only previous PL managerial experience is getting a club relegated… so for them that’d be Shearer.

But seriously, they’ve tried the ‘proven manager’ route in the past - Benitez, Keegan etc - and ‘look where that got them’! The only logical approach now is to look to the Norwegian league and bring in someone who’s doing ‘ok’ over there.

But seriously, whoever they pick will be a fine and sound appointment as long as it follows ‘The Newcastle Way’.

But seriously…
I’ve never thought of their squad underperforming. I guess it’s because I don’t think they have a top half squad and Bruce has received a rough ride from the Toon supporters. But then again, I may be wrong as I’m not too clued up on what’s happening over there.

It can't be repeated enough just how horrific this regime is. I've no problem with dark humour that brings attention to something like that.

Theyre definitely going to have to rebuild now with the new ownership, they need a rebuild specialist. Ole is the man for the job

I honestly think it will be Gerrard in the end.

Already won the league with Rangers, would probably bail out on Old Firm mid season like Rodgers, they appointed someone he worked with at Rangers to oversee their transfers apparently and I think he knows post Klopp he's very unlikely to get the Liverpool job until he's proved himself in the prem so sort of adds up to me.

Perhaps Lampard will be in shake up aswell but don't think he'll be that great even being a holding manager for them for next 18 months.

Roberto Mancini is who I would be putting money on if I was going to have a bet.

Is Bruce going to beheading to Saudi Arabia for talks about his job? I would imagine they would like to pick apart his body of work at the club, to see if there was anyway he could keep things ticking over, until they find a proper replacement.

No doubt, he will be terminated anyway. But surely they are better to keep him on for a bit, for morale more than anything else. All the players will know they are going to be cut away sooner or later. What incentive do they have to keep putting in a serious effort for the club?

Before the transfer window even opens they will have played 20 games, it's possible they might be all but relegated by then. Is there a manager out there that can get this current lot up the league before then?

Gerrard would be a good fit. He’s got Rangers back to the top in Scotland and this would give him a big PL project go get his teeth into before he ends up back at Liverpool one day. Newcastle may fancy someone like him in the short term followed by a big celeb manager name thereafter.

I'd say some of them stand a chance of becoming squad players in a team full of talent. But it will take 2-3 years for them to really transition the club, at the very least. So a few of them can form a part of that in-between team that brings them further up the table, while the rest are playing for the futures. The spotlight is on them so there's plenty of incentive.

Outside of Wilson, St Maximin and maybe a goalkeeper. None of the rest of that squad is really good enough to be backup for PL team looking to go places. They are mostly championship players at best.

Yeah, they should play well etc. to try and get a good move away from it. But I don't think they'll be too cut up about how Newcastle do in the short or long term when they know they're going to be severed from the club soon anyway.

Not out of this world but not available yet: he has a WC in/out game vs Switzerland next month… lose that and he possibly hits the market before the midnight.

He’s really in that much danger a few months after winning the euros?

Shearer, with coaching staff of Andy Carroll. They have Newcastle DNA and know inside out of the Club.

The job is tailor made for Gerrard, in my opinion.
Doubt he’d take it.

Undying loyalty to Liverpool (previoisly said he’d not like to manage a team against Liberpool) plus he’s said before he wont be leaving Rangers until he sees them back in the Champions League, win the title this year and gets Rangers to the Champions League group stage.

Im hoping that when they sack Bruce, they appoint a foreign coach who doesn't know the league that well and proceeds to get them relegated
