He wouldn't even entertain the idea until they have a much better squad. It's gonna be Conte isnt it?
Maybe it was a tasteless joke, but I think it's a tasteless joke that should be brought up as often as possible.it was a tasteless joke and everyone is fully aware.
That would be nice, relegation before everything is sorted. Could happen.Hopefully they get relegated. Mick McCarthey or Neil Warnock would be nice.
Is he still around? I always associate him with Wolves. No idea what he's done since then.Hopefully they get relegated. Mick McCarthey or Neil Warnock would be nice.
I’ve never thought of their squad underperforming. I guess it’s because I don’t think they have a top half squad and Bruce has received a rough ride from the Toon supporters. But then again, I may be wrong as I’m not too clued up on what’s happening over there.Thankfully Utd have Ole tied down with contract extension, so Newcastle can’t try and lure him away!
But seriously, they’re a wealthy club with an underperforming squad and they need someone to come in and ‘lift the mood’, so the only logical appointment would be a club legend who’s only previous PL managerial experience is getting a club relegated… so for them that’d be Shearer.
But seriously, they’ve tried the ‘proven manager’ route in the past - Benitez, Keegan etc - and ‘look where that got them’! The only logical approach now is to look to the Norwegian league and bring in someone who’s doing ‘ok’ over there.
But seriously, whoever they pick will be a fine and sound appointment as long as it follows ‘The Newcastle Way’.
But seriously…

It can't be repeated enough just how horrific this regime is. I've no problem with dark humour that brings attention to something like that.it was a tasteless joke and everyone is fully aware.
Bring the smiles back to St James'Theyre definitely going to have to rebuild now with the new ownership, they need a rebuild specialist. Ole is the man for the job
Would the Saudis appoint someone who managed an Emirati club?Roberto Mancini is who I would be putting money on if I was going to have a bet.
It happened with Spurs over the summer and he didn’t go there. Good on him, being loyal and perhaps understanding his place.Wasn't there a similar tweet just before he left Celtic for Leicester?
I'd say some of them stand a chance of becoming squad players in a team full of talent. But it will take 2-3 years for them to really transition the club, at the very least. So a few of them can form a part of that in-between team that brings them further up the table, while the rest are playing for the futures. The spotlight is on them so there's plenty of incentive. Is Bruce going to beheading to Saudi Arabia for talks about his job? I would imagine they would like to pick apart his body of work at the club, to see if there was anyway he could keep things ticking over, until they find a proper replacement.
No doubt, he will be terminated anyway. But surely they are better to keep him on for a bit, for morale more than anything else. All the players will know they are going to be cut away sooner or later. What incentive do they have to keep putting in a serious effort for the club?
Before the transfer window even opens they will have played 20 games, it's possible they might be all but relegated by then. Is there a manager out there that can get this current lot up the league before then?

Outside of Wilson, St Maximin and maybe a goalkeeper. None of the rest of that squad is really good enough to be backup for PL team looking to go places. They are mostly championship players at best.I'd say some of them stand a chance of becoming squad players in a team full of talent. This suggests he didnt say hes staying but a coach did? This was 2 days before he fecked off to Leicester:
Not out of this world but not available yet: he has a WC in/out game vs Switzerland next month… lose that and he possibly hits the market before the midnight.Roberto Mancini is who I would be putting money on if I was going to have a bet.
Di Cane-ioDi Canio would be a nice fit.
He’s really in that much danger a few months after winning the euros? Not out of this world but not available yet: he has a WC in/out game vs Switzerland next month… lose that and he possibly hits the market before the midnight.
Doubt he’d take it.The job is tailor made for Gerrard, in my opinion.
