Ingrained means it’s a natural part, an essential part even, of their game. So the rest is just hot air mate. None of those would start fights with their team mates over a penalty, for instance.

I maintain my position, comparing Best and Maradona to Neymar is a travesty, and it hurts my brain. You can keep your disgusting child molester. The day those things stop mattering to me, is the day I stop watching football.
Neymar never started a fight over a penalty. There are also plenty of worse offenders than him when it comes to diving.

You may not like him but it isn't a reason to tweak the facts.

Thing you guys are forgetting is that Neymar is simply an annoying guy. Sometimes it's not what you do but how you do it; that's why I find Costa and Suarez far less annoying than Neymar and Greizmann even though the former duo are far more despicable.

For better or worse, whiney/bratish/attention seeking players are more annoying than outright cnuts to a lot of people and Neymar is at the very top in the whiney/bratish/attention seeking scale even if he is only pushing Europa league spots in the outright cnut premiership

That said when he's focused Neymar is one of my favourite players to watch.

Imagine Barca being stupid enough to give back all that money they got from PSG in the first place? This transfer fecked the whole market and will end up just being a glorified loan.
I'll think you will find Real get credited with that and the 90 million be about 125 I think today with inflation added when Real got CR7 10 yrs ago, started it.

I think a player plus cash deal makes the most sense. The total value of these offers would be around the 160-180m mark which is probably fair given his age and injury history.

United: Pogba + 50-75m
Barca: Coutinho + Semedo/Rakitic + 40m

Are you crazy! no way is he worth Pogba plus £60m - Pogba is about £180m

Never would I swap them two.

Ronaldo is one of the all time greats and that fee today looks like the best business in football history.

At the same time you're paying 80 mil pounds for Harry Maguire and Zaha is nowadays a 100 mil euro player in EPL.

For comparison, Hermoso was sold for 30 mil € and Fekir will be sold for 25 mil € in Spain.

EPL market is a bubble where average players are sold for crazy money and that's fine with me. If you can, just spend, but to say that Real started this is crazy. We were paying top dollar for the likes of Ronaldo, Kaka and Zidane.
Huge money for average players is a thing in EPL only.

ADM doesn't dive more than average and Mbappé stands out because he's so bad at it that's it's almost comical. On the other hand Mané cheated more in his two games against PSG than Neymar in his 2 years in Paris for example yet he escapes criticism.

JPRouve, that wasn't meant for you.
ADM doesn't dive more than average? He's an atrocious diver. He's definitely worse than average. Your bias is shining through.

PSG could get Rakitic & Dembele which would immediately improve them & then have an extra £90m thrown in.

And you're entitled to your opinion but don't then deny you are taking the moral highground because you don't not want the player you don't want what you deem to be the person.
What has that got to do with a moral highground? I can be a cnut too that has nothing to do with a moral highground I just don’t like him. I’m not preaching or looking down at him, he’s just a grade A bellend.

I have no problem with you ranking yourself silly over Neymar, I have no problem with that. Don’t expect me to join you.

EDIT: I just seen you compare Best with Neymar, catch your self on. You are either ignorant or a WUM.

He is comfortably the 3rd best player in the world. He's worth much more than Pogba from a purely footballing standpoint and is even more marketable.

Jesus, Pogba worth 180m? You wouldn't swap him for fecking Neymar? Neymar is at least the third best player in the world right now, Pogba is hardly even in the top 10. Hell, I'm not even sure I'd put him in my top 10 best midfielders in the world. Has to be the most overrated player I've ever known.

Bollocking about fluently.
All this being said though - wouldn't it be somewhat interesting seeing Neymar in the Premier League? Something tells me there would be many tears and even more objections - accompanied by an equal number of fecks that were never given

I don't think the EPL is that much tougher than other European top leagues. Some of the smaller teams may be more physical but they aren't dirty. And Neymar is used to being roughed up by dirty opponents targeting him. He'd run circles around EPL defenders just like he did in every league he played in. Currently it's hard to tell if Neymar, Messi or Hazard is the best player on the planet but those guys are so good they'll do it in every league against every opponent, basically.

90m with Coutinho and Dembele is like 300m+. Can't be right. Would be worse than the Zlatan deal.

You think its hard to separate Neymar, Leo and Hazard? Have you watched all 3 of them play in the last 12 months?

Coutinho and Dembélé are already on bigger wages than what they bring on the pitch justify and would likely want another raise to switch clubs if they even agree to, both of them instantly becoming the top earners would ruin the wage structure.

Dembélé and Coutinho might not be what PSG want in the first place and I'm pretty sure Barca never made that offer anyway.

A front 4 of Dembele, Mbappe, Cavani and Coutinho is amazing. I’d kill for United to have just one of those players.
A front 4 of Messi, Griezmann, Neymar and Suarez sounds pretty good too.

I hope we end up with a decent attack.

Personally, I don’t want him back at Barca. I don’t even dislike him or anything, I just think that the ship has sailed.

Spending 250m on Neymar only for injuries to ruin him like Kaka sounds like something Manchester United would do.

Yeah that’s ridiculous. Hopefully Messi will retire soon and give the rest of us a chance.

May be Manchester United signing Sanchez was a blessing in disguise after all. Ed got burned so bad from the Sanchez deal that he decided not to chase after Neymar this summer... :D

Bloody hell you are the one not making any sense. I don't like his style of play, I think he is vastly over rated. He doesn't produce enough to get away with his antics in the majority of games I have watched him "live".

None of those things apply to Maradona.
Well that's the first you mentioned of your not wanting him being because of his style of play and him being over rated and not producing enough, that's a different matter.

No probably not. Because while you have a point - a lot of why people hate on Neymar is not necessarily down to his ego or eccentricities alone - but down to him acting like a whiny little bitch and something of a sleaze - in an era even where footballers have it so easy both on and off the pitch compared to what was the case back then.

And you can say a lot of negatives about for instance Maradona too - but one thing you cannot call him is a whiny little bitch and a sleaze this despite the fact that his personal life was tragic and he also set some kind of world record in having his feet battered. I see your point - there's a double standard there for sure - but people can actually forgive a lot of negatives as long as the person responsible goes about them in a dignified ("manly") fashion and also owns up to his or hers faults. As long as they're not 100% plastic fantastic.

Also Maradona and Best were way better seen in comparison to their era than Neymar is in comparison to ours. Talents like that are mass-produced these days - you can always get someone younger and less annoying with similar skills.
I agree with most of your points other than talents like Neymar can be mass produced, that's definitely wrong. You'd be lucky to get 3 talents equal to Neymar per generation.

Agree with this.

Just watched the Maradona docu on cinema, and for all his antics and idiotic decisions he never was a total shitweasel like Neymar. Even when he wished to leave Napoli (twice?) and was denied a transfer he kept on going. It's also refreshing to look back at a time when players stayed on their feet even when they were hacked to pieces by five players in a row.

These days football is getting ruined by players like Neymar, agents and corruption of all sorts leaking into every creak of the game.
This is also true but have to caveat it with the fact that player power wasn't really a thing back in those days.

Ingrained means it’s a natural part, an essential part even, of their game.
Where do you draw the line though? Would you refuse peak Sergio Ramos? Busquets? Marcelo? Dani Alves? I think all of those would qualify as it being ingrained in their game.

Agree with that. But he did seem to accept that, and that he had a contract to honor and a club to serve as long as the owners didn't want to sell him. In retrospect, I guess he should have moaned and bitched in public since Napoli obviously wasn't a good place for him as a person in the long run, but that's another discussion.

PSG only want cash? We should seize this opportunity and land some top quality players at cut deals. Dembele will be a perfect fit and Coutinho was top 3 best players in the league when Liverpool sold him. Inter and Bayern benefitted all those years ago when Madrid got rid of Schneider and Robben to bring in 'Galacticos'. Barcelona is aiming to do the same and we should take advantage of their need to sell. Surely 120m can land the both of them? Maybe do one of those dastardly loan deals for Coutinho and put an obligation to buy.

A front 3 of Coutinho, Rashford and Dembele imo guarantees us top 4. They are also young enough to give you time to build the rest of the team and Challenge for the title in 2-3 seasons.

They don't want Coutinho, I'm sure they'd prefer Semedo. Dembele would be a good different option for them.

I know I wouldn't, you're looking at it from one angle. Neymar would bring even more disruption at United than we could bear. Pogba is a model pro and citizen next to him. Sometimes it's more than just the footballing ability and for the past couple of years, Neymar isn't at least the third best player in the world. He has the potential to do so but hasn't consistently come close to it.

I don't get why adding Neymar would be bad. His only issues are injuries becuase his stats are still elite.

I don't see why he would come though. I feel like he wants to go back where he had some warmth. In England he would face the same problems as France, he'd get kicked the shit out of him and boo'd in every ground.

The guy is overrated. He is a good technical pacy wing foward but not a leader or consistent enough to be ever mentioned along side Ronaldo and Messi. And if Madrid don't want him he's not leaving PSG because Barca just signed Griezmann, City don't need him with Aguero in the team (and he likes the ball too much for Peps liking) and we don't need another Pogba case aldo I don't think he would come here in the first place. So that's that.

That's a different aspect, sure. As United I wouldn't make him my primary target either because currently you can't offer him the perspective he demands and his spell at your club could end the same way it's now taking place at PSG. But if he wanted to come and the possibility to swap him for Pogba was on the table? I wouldn't even think twice, Neymar is on a completely different level.

I think he was the third best player in the world when he wasn't injured. With him it's a little bit like with Messi, people are taking for granted that he just casually beats three man and scores/assists.
