NFL 2026 | Official Schedule Released

He was rated 15th best QB by ESPN and projected as an undrafted free agent by practically everyone.

Though Pavia doesn't meet prototypical measurable standards, he is a big playmaker and ultra competitive. His arm strength is adequate to good, but he is not a polished passer in terms of mechanics and delivery. Pavia's deep balls often float, and he probably would struggle to drive the ball into tight windows against NFL defenders. He is at his best in the short-to-intermediate passing game, excelling with RPO reads and accuracy. Pavia has some trouble finding passing lanes because of his stature, but he has great escapability and is very dangerous outside of the pocket. He is a dangerous option runner too, displaying true running back skills. Pavia can accelerate when on the run and will lower his shoulder to get the tough yards. Overall, his size is a concern and he would benefit from staying in shotgun at the next level. -- Scouts Inc.

Yes, he’s actually good. The problem is a combination of perceptions of his height and his off the field behavior. The former is workable, but combining the former and latter will always set off alarm bells among GMs doing their due diligence about a player’s mindset and work ethic. The last thing any GM or coach want is a disruptive back up.

Unless you’re Cleveland.

I don’t understand this mindset. There’s nothing else going on in the sport, so we’re just not supposed to talk about and critique the draft? Are you telling me if Vegas had drafted General Booty from Northwest Central Louisiana instead of Mendoza at #1 I couldn’t say they had a poor draft instead of a good one?
Not at all! Of course you can - but the issue is many people defer to the likes of Kiper as some sort of authority when I'm pretty sure all the retrospective analytics don't look particularly good for him.

I mean this is a guy who had a colossal meltdown over Shedeur Sanders

More trivia...

Baltimore, Denver, and Seattle have never had the number one pick. Note: Baltimore does not include Cleveland's history (a dumb clause as part of the relocation but they still took plenty of players, staff, and employees from the 95 Browns!).

I'm getting the feeling he's going to be having an extended break from coaching.

He apparently also slapped her ass after she was sitting on his lap at the NFL Combine.

Kinda wild how brazen they’ve been about all this and it’s only public now. Even wilder that he got the gall to initially deny the affair.

I just feel for the spouses, but particularly Russini's husband since they named one of their sons Michael.

Thats a fecking betrayal in itself if, as reported, the affair started before the child's birth, regardless of paternity

It’s only been made headline news by the NFL to distract from the farcical James Pearce plea deal. It’s an absolute storm in a teacup and a clear diversion tactic from the NFL media machine.

And you’re eating it up.

The NFL didn't want this story escaping containment.

Its the nature of the story (ie a sex scandal) and because everyone lied and now details are trickling out that its getting legs.

Throw on the usual gender argument bs and its a garbage fire.

I'm not gonna lie, I love a good garbage fire..

That said, in the US stupidly soft plea deals happen all the time to your point about the need for distraction

I saw Stefon Diggs got found not guilty.

The accuser changed her story on the stand, and generally acted a jackass to the point the judge had to tell her to answer the questions under threat of striking her testimony.

Jury took 90 mins to deliberate

Affairs happen every day. Why anyone gives a toss is beyond me. And yes soft plea deals do happen but the Pearce deal was jaw-dropping even by those standards. The NFL is just taking the piss at this point.

Yeah the NFL are pushing this story
What is rarer, a well known reporter fecking and potentially having a child out of wedlock with the Pats head coach (who himself was a well known former player), or an active NFL player of…*checks notes*…the Falcons getting a slap on the wrist for a criminal offense?

Obviously a cover up!

Its not revealed that journalists are shagging the subjects of their coverage every day

If that child ends up being Vrabels..

Unimaginable

And yet I imagine it’s a pretty regular occurrence.

Dude was facing a handful of felony charges after repeatedly ramming his ex’s car with his and then hitting a cop (standing) with his vehicle while fleeing so yes the NFL is absolutely ecstatic for you to talk about the Vrabel “Days of Our Lives” nonsense rather than Pearce’s diversion deal that means he won’t spend even one day behind bars.

And if it came out it would be a huge story covered by more ethical journalists, and others who know a sex scandal sells
Right because sex scandals are big news and people are always held accountable for them in the US.

Being news and accountability are two different things.

So far only Russini has 'been punished ' by her employer backing her publicly, but asking her to show evidence, after the fact, that she didn't lie to them about the nature of the stay at the hotel, to which she resigned

...

So nobody has actually been punished really

Just negative publicity and commentary

It’s pure coffee talk. To distract from the Pearce deal.

Simple as.

People every day take misdemeanor plea deals to avoid felonies. Especially if you have the money for good representation who utilise leverage. Thats the US system.

The damage to the NFL of that story is literally immeasurably small

Remind me how much coverage Marcos Alonso killing someone DUI got vs Wazza’s granny shagging, or Giggs’s affair?

Sex sells, especially if it happens at dynasties/biggest teams in the league.

Miscarriage of justice and the rich and powerful getting away with crimes, on the other hand, is just a regular Tuesday in the States.

Barely anyone bats an eyelid regarding such stories for NFL players, they get into trouble every week of the year and even more so in the offseason.

You literally had a few of the league's biggest superstars repping a "Free Rashee Rice" T-shirt after he plead guilty to two third-degree felony charges. James Pearce is a nothing name for 90% of the league's audience.

And he thinks they're pushing a story that is increasingly looking like it may derail one of the biggest franchises over it

Not remotely comparable. The Pearce incident made national news. Not just the ticker but a headline story on the 6pm news. It was genuinely bizarre and most of it was caught on camera. He was dead to rights according to the evidence and the scandal of it is that money or no anyone else would have gone away for a very long time.

And yet the day of the deal (Draft Day) the headline story is that Vrabel will miss the final day of the draft to go to counseling.

Give over.

Diversion or intervention programs are often considered suitable for first time offenders.

Its surprising that it was granted given the incident involved a police officer, certainly, but it's pretty normal.

They want compliance, and he will have these charges over him for years if he fecks up again.

A coach missing draft day to (pretend to) go to counselling is big NFL news

The day of the deal was draft day, it was never going to be a headline story anyway. You make it sound like Pat Mahomes committed a crime, it was a rookie linebacker.

Couple of questions for our American friends.

How easy will it be to get a Jets vs Dolphins ticket?

When will the day / time get confirmed?
