At one point the guy soliciting the illegal donation basically says Reform are relying on foreign donations because not enough people in the UK are donating to them

Financial investigations are long-winded and complex. I would be surprised if this didn't take years to get to any charging decisions. If Farage is sensible, and I think he is, there will be a fall guy who is fairly junior who would take the rap.

I'd be interested in finding-out who the bleeped foreign donors are when discussing the option of donating through others.

That was through a company linked to Boehly, and was published by the Electoral Commission, so that has been accepted and is lawful. Unless Boehly is trying to donate on the side, but even then I think he would be domiciled in the UK and so would not be covered by the foreign donor ban.

The guy who arranged the "off the books" donation told the undercover journalist posing as the donor that he had nothing to worry about as the Electoral Commission is useless and dumb. He said it's not like they're going to have to deal with the Serious Fraud Office or Scotland Yard. Hopefully they will have to do just that soon, but only because they had to catch them on camera after going undercover!
Farage will probably get away with it as usual because he wasn't caught on camera explicitly endorsing the scheme or acknowledging that it was illegal. He'll say he just went for dinner with this random American businessman who's son had just promised his right-hand man that his father would donate 500k (to start with) for an initial in person meeting with him. And that he wasn't aware this father and son duo's off the books payment for Reform commissioned polling via a US company that he was thanking him for wasn't above board.

So I had a look at a well known right wing social media "Influencers" page to see what they're saying. He's saying it's been edited to look worse than it is, and all parties do it, but the establishment are terrified of reform, so only show them in a bad light.
Then the comments are all about how Labour are worse, what Angela raynor did was worse, how reform are being stitched up by the establishment. Most of these comments are from actual people as well, not bots. It is exactly the same as the Trump cult, I'm seeing more often on LinkedIn now from a lot is positions of power, it makes you despair
