The song is decent, but it sounds far too similar to the last one, with a bit of the one before it thrown in.... the Chris Cornell and Jack White efforts being massive outliers in the Craig era, an all the more interesting for it.

Yeah the Craig-era seems to want to turn the song into a crushingly earnest ballad... which is fine once, but doesn't need to be repeated, twice. Get it back to a big campy bollocks next time, please.

Still consider it a shame we never got the mooted Winehouse/Ronson effort in 2008. Would've been the absolute perfect melding of artists and time, for me.

That looks exactly like the last 4 Bond films.

Crazy how quickly time passes. I remember when Daniel Craig got the role and he seemed so fresh after Brosnan’s stiff and stale portrayal. Now Craig is feeling equally stale, with the same grumpy rogue agent story line every time.

I’ve no idea where they will take it after Craig. The Jason Borne films did a lot to inspire this latest iteration but it’s feeling very tired now. I’m not sure there are any credible angles left.
Meh new Bond will refresh the series. I enjoy the films and take them for what they are. Overly daft but good fun.

Also I’ve found people who insist Bond must be a WHITE MALE because that is how he is portrayed in the books have never actually read the books

The White/Keys one was the best, for me, just a shame the film was such a mess.

Nice, pretty, moody song.

Most of the Craig themes have been trash. Sam Smith is awful generally and the songs by White/Keys and Cornell are neither classic Bond tunes nor remotely close to their own best work. Skyfall at least reflected its film pretty well in that it was as self-conciously Bond-like as it could be.

I was still in school when Casino Royale came out and it still seems recent somehow. Might be because I've watched that movie dozens of times since.

Yeah, I can't suggest what a new angle might be but they do have to come up with one.

Complete side note but Dev Patel is now my guess for who the next Bond will be, based entirely off some random person on twitter saying it would be a good idea.

I think this Eilish is talented but that's not much of a theme. But I don't really care about Bond themes that much.

New bond songs are all the same - orchestras playing the same old chords and progressions with a shite song over it. But I suppose it always was a bit like that... The formula is so tired though.

Do something new you boring fecks!

Which may have put them off.

The Sheryl Crow one is underrated...

Also the very fact Sheryl Crow did a Bond song is underrated as a bit of useless trivia.

I had completely forgotten
1) Sheryl Crow existed
2) she'd done a James Bond song
3) which one it was
4) that that film had ever existed

I'm not quite sure how I feel now I've remembered

Seems to be running into issue after issue. Latest being Grace Jones quitting not long after arriving on set.

Spectre was a huge let down and with this one being Craig's last Bond I'd hope it would be a good one, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Hopefully they'll pull it out of the bag.
I thought it was ok. Much better than the god awful skyfall.

Favourite Bond Songs

1. Live & Let Die
2. You Only Live Twice
3. Licence To Kill
4. A View To Kill (Terrible film though)
5. Diamonds Are Forever (Also not a good film)

I had to google it to find out which movie she’d done the song for but Tomorrow Never Dies was alright to be fair, definitely Brosnan’s second best after Goldeneye although the other two were shite.

The runtime for this will be 2 hours 43 minutes...

That's pretty damn long for an action film.

Spectre was Craig’s weakest Bond movie, but it wasn’t shit.

The new trailer gives me a little hope. The director nails what the definition of Bond in this movie is, so if the movie follows that narrative then it's a good thing. Simply because if it's got a million different themes running through it it'll be so disjointed and mucky.

Only if you ignore the existence of Quantum of Solace. Which everybody should.

To be fair, I rewatched it just last week and I really enjoyed it. It seem to have been given some reprieve in the Bond community as well.

My favourite bit is the guy with the sweeping brush who isn't brushing anything.

Yeah, the plot wasn’t amazing but it had Craig’s Bond on a rampage out for revenge - which I quite liked.

That villain was a genius, in fairness, Rado. Well ahead of his time. We went through a bit of a drought here in Cape Town, just over a couple of years ago (things are alright now) & I can tell you....he who controls the water, will control the world! People became savage over water

Doesn’t make for a great movie though!
