That villain was a genius, in fairness, Rado. Well ahead of his time. We went through a bit of a drought here in Cape Town, just over a couple of years ago (things are alright now) & I can tell you....he who controls the water, will control the world! People became savage over water
Around the time of the film I had a mate moaning about big Dom Greene controlling the water being a shit master plan, but it actually makes perfect sense. If you got locked up somewhere you'd be crying out for water long before you wanted oil, or gold bullion, or space lasers :D

QoS is a film with much to complain about but I don't see the villain wanting to control the water supply in a desert as one of them.

Yeah, I don't mind the silly plot lines etc. as a deterrent - I mean it's all about the style, action, gorgeous women, gadgets etc. - but I am probably a tad bit biased as I like the James Bond franchise.

Yeah. QoS is Craig's worst for me but I enjoyed it at the time and, having caught a bit of it including Mathis's death the other night, I reckon I'd still enjoy it now in all its mediocrity.

I'm looking forward to the new one, I quite like the tune too.

I haven't even listened to the tune yet. Will try to get on it today. And yeah, looking forward to the movie.

It's pretty good. Harmonises well with the apparent theme of betrayal.

Not sure if I'm looking forward to this really. It just sounds like a mess. Nothing against Craig, nothing against Bond (really enjoyed Casino Royale and Skyfall, thought Spectre was meh but okay, thought Quantum of Solace was pretty naff), but the production just sounds like a nightmare. Danny Boyle was hired and fired in 2018 so they hastily brought in Fukunaga, which delayed the start of filming by fourth months. Phoebe Waller-Bridge was clearly brought in at the last minute to make sure the script wasn't as misguided and sexist as Spectre's, and they only finished photography in the autumn because of all the injuries sustained by cast and crew. And to top it all off, No Time to Die reads like a title created by a Bond film algorithm.

I'm always up for a Bond film because I can be easily entertained by action sequences and spy stuff but I'm not holding my breath. If it's better than Quantum of Solace then that's fine, I guess?

I actually enjoyed Quantum on 2nd viewing, good action flick.
All I remember of it was the action scene when they were bouncing up and down on the church bell ropes. Very funny. Rest of the movie is a blur.

Bonus points for jamming "The Spy Who Loved Me" into the lyrics somewhere.

It’s fine because it’s not like I’d been on Odeon website every day for months to see if tickets were on then bought them on first day.

80 people out of 60 million and our lives are gradually grinding to a halt.

I just can't believe there's someone called Barbara Broccoli.

Listening to 5live on way to work the presenter mentioned a rumour that’s one of the plots of the movie involves a virus which is would be one of the reasons it was moved. Iv looked on internet myself and found nothing so who knows.

Nothing is sounding promising about this film now - sales in Asia are how most of the big stinkers recoup some of their losses for the studio. T he fact they have delayed this release does not inspire confidence.

Might be something in that, seeing the state of the villain's face and the way it changes in the trailer.

It's not just the Chinese ticket sales they're worried about. Ticket sales in all the more majorly affected countries are down between 50-80% (In China's case, 100%). If the virus spreads anything like it has in those countries, they (producer/distributor/exhibitor) could be looking at that amount of gross impact, AKA $800m when they could have done $1.3bn, etc.

Also, extremely surprised no one did Die Another Day.

No-one did that because everyone is trying to forget that film ever happened.

I’ve somehow managed to only just stumble across the trailer (first time a YouTube advert has not been skipped) and my god I’m so excited.
