Whatever. He actually makes it look too easy and I lose some appreciation as a result.
But Messi is Messi, not just a goal scorer. A genius of a footballer. In that season Messi scored 73 goals in 5,221 minutes. That's a goal every 72 minutes. Amazing.
So far Haaland has scored 42 goals in 2,871 minutes. That's a goal every 68 minutes....
Mbappe isn't in a serious league and Haaland has a better goal per game in the Champions League. Can score as many as he wants, he's still not as good as Mbappe.
An odd argument on a Manchester United forum. Obviously most of us will not be disappointed that... other big clubs didn't sign him. That would be strange. All the other big clubs who could afford him missed out too and were stupid to not sign him...but only blame United?
Sure, no argument from me on that front. But Messi is Messi, not just a goal scorer. A genius of a footballer.
Halaand is like a perfect machine. Just so fecking efficient. But he doesn’t make football an art, like Messi does.
Yes he does. They both are. Comparing them is silly, as they are totally different types of players. Stats are for the future, as the one is 22.But Messi is Messi, not just a goal scorer. A genius of a footballer.

Europe ….No ideaWhat’s the record for hat tricks in a season amongst the top leagues in Europe and who holds the record?
Mbappe can do as many resultless stepovers for the fans as he wants. Can score as many as he wants, he's still not as good as Mbappe.
Almost as if Haaland is a striker and Mbappe isn'tMbappe isn't in a serious league and Haaland has a better goal per game in the Champions League.
Exactly what I think when I see him too. Lives on the offside line. Has the same knack of reading a breaking ball too.He is a giant Inzaghi.
Mbappe is the better player.Mbappe can do as many resultless stepovers for the fans as he wants.
He did alright against bayern for Dortmund. Its not like he's only bern a freak for City.Mbappe is the better player.
If my team is struggling i rather have Mbappe than Haaland.
Haaland requires the midfield to have a very good game, cause even the close games that City had he was meh, and has mostly showed when his was dominating the opposition, which most of the time were inferior teams that were underdogs against City.
Let's see what he does against Bayern, cause City aren't gonna dominate that game the way they did with Leipzig and Burnely.
He´s not Messi, but he´s just a freak goalscorer, which isnt a bad attribute for a striker. No one has ever done what he is doing in the PL and its just his first season here at what 22/23?I think this generation or people in general are getting dumber and dumber these days. The obsession with stats and arguing that it makes a better player (no matter position or context). No point to watch games anymore, right? This generation is full of excel sheet merchants. If anyone argues that scoring more goals than other player makes you better, then by your own logic Gerd Muller is the GOAT of the sport.
Mbappe is scoring less on a team in France that is so stacked against the competition its almost a farce. Is it PSGs fault that he so often comes up short on the scoresheet?Mbappe is the better player.

Haaland doesn't need to be Messi. He can't play football that is what my eyes tell me. He can be discussed as a future great striker by the trajectory he is going, but not in any GOAT debates. He´s not Messi, but he´s just a freak goalscorer, which isnt a bad attribute for a striker. No one has ever done what he is doing in the PL and its just his first season here at what 22/23?
And Iniesta, Zidane and Xavi would be crap players. But I think if Haaland keeps this remotely up then he will be rightfully regarded as an All Time Great player. What this discussion also shows yet again what a "freak" Messi was in his prime. As good a Goalscorer as Haaland and you can even argue better if you look at the repertoire and difficulty of many of his goals. And outside of Goalscoring he's not even remotely a match to Messi.I think this generation or people in general are getting dumber and dumber these days. The obsession with stats and arguing that it makes a better player (no matter position or context). No point to watch games anymore, right? This generation is full of excel sheet merchants. And we'd still have an incompetent managerif Ole had managed to sign this cnut, he might be in charge today
Nonsense, Iniesta, Xavi and Zidane all scored super high in statistics related to their positions. And Iniesta, Zidane and Xavi would be crap players. I think he's just uglyDid Haaland use HGH or anabolic steroids? His facial features look like he roided out. Not even sure if that stuff is banned anymore? He seems to have had quite the prodigious growth spurt to get up to 6’5” when his dad was only 6’1”.
While I agree that Mbappe is a fantastic player, Mbappe is not the player you would want in a struggling team.Mbappe is the better player.

Nah, he is the spitting image of that Norwegian actor in Ragnarok. That just a Norwegian ethnic trait. Give the guy a breakDid Haaland use HGH or anabolic steroids? His facial features look like he roided out. Not even sure if that stuff is banned anymore? He seems to have had quite the prodigious growth spurt to get up to 6’5” when his dad was only 6’1”.
Suppose you look like Brad Pitt?I think he's just ugly
Never said he was goat candidate. But Gerd Müller is criminally underrated. No he´s not in the top 5, but I don´t think people outside of Germany rate him enough. I know team mates hype up their own, but ask Beckenbauer what it was like to defend against Müller in training.Haaland doesn't need to be Messi. He can't play football that is what my eyes tell me. He can be discussed as a future great striker by the trajectory he is going, but not in any GOAT debates.
The only striker in football history that can be in GOAT debates can be R9 and that's it.
R9 wasn't Messi but could play football and score goals.
Genuine question, what are the facial features that you associate with steroid use? Never heard of any.Did Haaland use HGH or anabolic steroids? His facial features look like he roided out. Not even sure if that stuff is banned anymore? He seems to have had quite the prodigious growth spurt to get up to 6’5” when his dad was only 6’1”.
No but Haaland is extremely weird looking. His face looks a few sizes too small for his head.Suppose you look like Brad Pitt?
I’m sure literally millions of women will disagreeNo but Haaland is extremely weird looking. His face looks a few sizes too small for his head.
No he looks really weird.I’m sure literally millions of women will disagree
Mbappé is very much the kind of player you want if your team is struggling due to his ball carrying ability. He's a one man attack. Whereas Haaland is strictly a finisherWhile I agree that Mbappe is a fantastic player, Mbappe is not the player you would want in a struggling team.
