Absolutely class again. Love the way this guy goes about his business with zero fuss in whatever position he's asked to play
This, pretty much. Zero fuss, just does a great job. He’s not spectacular at anything, except for being a spectacularly good signing and a great player.

I normally think he’s better at RCB but he was very good at RWB today.

He's just really good at football. Probably not quick enough to play there in this system all the time, but a wonderful addition to the squad for sure.

Still would try him in deep midfield when we need to close things down, he's really good on the ball and one of our smartest players.

So good technically. I mistakenly clicked on the Mount thread when I tried to click into this one
and thought The Caf was collectively on some strong stuff!

He's understanding the role now and that's great for us.

Will just take one poor match on the caf to start that myth again.
I wouldn't say it was a myth. He was poor most of the times he played wingback this season, which really stood out as otherwise I'd say he's been easily our most consistent player over the course of the season at RB under ETH and then RCB under Amorim.

However he's had a few very good games at RWB lately (the brilliant match against Arsenal most notably), so maybe it's starting to come together for him there.

Carries himself really well. Doesn’t look like a physical specimen by any means but can deal with a lot with a nice body swerve or lovely touch too. Surprisingly quick in moments last night as well.

A bit nervy at the start and put his teammates in some bother at times but solid enough and great cross for the peno

I can't believe he's already made 52 appearances for us.
I believe he was known to be injury prone at Bayern so it's quite shocking that he's played that many games for us already, especially with injury woes of our own.

Nearly a spectacular goal which would've cemented a really solid season from Maz. What a bargain he's been, how Bayern thought throwing him in for with De Ligt was a good deal is kind of beyond me, a rare win for our recruitment team. Just a no fuss, great player.

Just a brilliant piece of business from the club, can’t say that too many times in recent years.

Don’t know why the club aren’t targeting more players in his age range. We need more ready made players who don’t need any time adjusting or still developing.

€60m/£50m for the pair of them was very good business.

I've been a big fan of Mazraoui at RCB this season, but I do have to say that his form does seem to have dropped off over the last month or so. A few months ago he was consistently one of our best players most games, and while he's not necessarily been bad I wouldn't say he's been particularly good lately. Both his actual defensive work and his passing out from the back seems to have just dropped off a bit.

He does seem to be getting forward more now though, at least in some matches. Not sure if it's related but I don't think so.

I've been a big fan of him this season but I'm starting to have niggling doubts. We're getting shredded every week and he's always in the line up.

What is he exactly, a full back or a centre back. Whatever he is I think squad player going forward.

Why did he start when Amo mentioned in the last presser that he is an injury worry due to work overload?

He's no better than Alex Telles. The player we sold, AWB, has had a much better season and the difference between them today was like night and day. Somehow he's escaped criticism for his poor performances. He's been poor for a while now after his promising start. Mazraoui has flattered to deceive, much like his time at Bayern

I expect he'll rest against Chelsea, but yes I was surprised to see him start this one. Yoro getting injured was unlucky, but starting Mazraoui seemed risky.

Indeed, perhaps him being overplayed is why his form has dropped off a bit the last month or two.

No better than telles! That's a ridiculous statement! Was class in both games against bilbao and he's not been particularly bad in the league (relatively to all our other players). He's also had to literally cover 4 positions over the last few months (7 over the course of the year) while playing 55+ games. I thimk for a 15 million signing, he's due a bloofy break!

Seriously? Mazraoui has arguably been our most consistent player over the course of this season. His form has dropped off a bit recently, but otherwise he's generally been one of our best players most weeks when he was either playing RB under ETH or RCB under Amorim.

The only time he really struggled was when he was being played at wingback. Strangely, his performances at RWB have improved recently at the same time as his form at RCB has declined.

Didn't Amorim refer to Mazraoui not having enough energy having the Bilbao game. Tbh I was surprised that he started but also he got the full 90

We can agree to disagree guys. For me he's been pretty average outside his opening 7 or so matches where he was actually outstanding.

He's more than capable on the ball and on the technical side of things, but he doesn't impose himself on games enough physically and hasn't been able to string together above average performances since that initial spell.

He's looked shaky at RWB and RCB more times than not, and perhaps that's not his fault but you need to be more adaptable at this level. Amad has looked better at RWB and has never played that role FFS. He also hasn't exactly brought the attacking threat he was so lauded for before his transfer here. I feel his subpar performances go largely unnoticed but perhaps I expect more from a United fullback

I think that is the reason his form has dropped off. Never in his career before has he played these many games in a season. 48 were the maximum some six seasons back. He didn't even make 30 appearances/season in his two seasons at Bayern. Made 55 total appearances in the two seasons over there but has already made 54 with us this season.

He is smart, hardworking and has a good pass in him. But he is too weak on 1 vs 1 and not particularly fast.

He is the type of players we usually sign. Hoping yo get elite level in his position. Seemed decent as first then we all realize he is not much better than the previous guy in his position to elevate the whole team's performance.

He was brought in as a cheapish punt as a back-up for the RB position. However, now we have a manager who plays 3 at the back and due to our lack of quality in the CB department this guy has turned into a starter and has played more games than ever. He has a good technical level and is intelligent, but I don't think he can play 50 games again as a starter next season.
