Official: Casemiro to leave at the end of the season | Maybe?

I'm actually quite disappointed. I was hoping he'd hang around on a lower salary.
 
Why is this announced now? Always a bad mistake during a season.
 
Sad. Felt the formations let him down where he was essentially a one man midfield for most of his games here, and wanted to see how he’d do in an actual midfield 3.
 
Right call - his whole transfer should be a lesson that we never repeat.

That said, still enjoyed a few top moments

Will stop any speculation that he isn’t being played due to the clause in his contract. Let’s him and the club focus on the football and cut out the noise (which they should be able to cut out regardless).
 
Ugarte will likely leave too so we need like 3 midfielders for current system.
 
Sad, he really cared about the club and whilst it was, didn't just come for the pay day
 
I wish we could've signed him and Varane earlier in their careers but I have nothing but respect for him and how he's handled his time here. Despite winning everything there is to win before joining, you can tell that he's enjoyed every minute of putting on the United shirt and playing in the PL.

Been one of the hardest workers in the team from the minute he joined and he ended up getting to show off what he had in his locker attacking wise much more than at any of his previous clubs.

We may not have been as successful as I wished we were but he's definitely been a spark in the team amidst some rough periods.

Like with Varane, Casemiro will always have a fan in me and best of luck to him in the future. Hope he smashes it at his final World Cup.

I'll always wonder what could've been had we signed him while we still had Pogba :lol:
 
He's been alright for us, but nowhere near the levels his wage would demand. Can't fault his efforts though, it was silly of the club to have signed him on such a wage. Good luck for the future Casemiro, you'll always be welcome back at Old Trafford!
 
Fair enough since his wages were exorbitant.

Did better here than I thought he would. Still our current best midfielder too. Thank you Case!
 
Sad, would've loved for him to extend for more reasonable wages. He's probably getting a better contract somewhere else.
 
It's a shame we aren't able to get him on a decreased contract, but he's likely to be able to command a higher wage than would be sensible for us to pay. I'm sure a Saudi club would be willing to throw some money at him, and he'd probably be well compensated in the MLS too.

Given the choice between renewal on the same terms or not, not is absolutely the correct decision.
 
See his passion after winning the derby last Saturday, he’s a proper red, loved his time here. Him still giving 100% knowing that there isn’t much he can achieve during the rest of his time here shows what an incredible player he is and how much he loved playing for Manchester United.
 
The guy's a class act, you can't hold that against him. Other than that, with him and Varane, Florentino took us to the cleaners. Better if we started to move away from such signings.
 
Correct decision to move him on. We need a midfield overhaul. Definitely 2 if not 3 new signings.
He's too much of a professional for it to affect his game though so I'm sure he'll finish well.
Quality player and professional.
 
This will be the cue for Carragher and the rest of the ABU media to decide he's amazing and our midfield will fall apart without him.

Anyway, I had hoped he'd stay to help develop his replacements. But it's not terrible news and saves us from the likely mistake of offering him another big contract.

I think he'll be remembered well.
 
Been a mixed bag but i think he's been good more often than bad, although with the reputation and wages he should have been more consistent. Right call to let him go.
 
Good luck to him. Not going to lie, wasn't his biggest fan. In saying that, we knew pretty quickly that his legs were going and he couldn't mix it physically on a consistent basis. We never once give him that partner to compliment him. Baleba maybe would have been an ideal one, but we never got that. When he's been good, he's been very good. Good luck to him in the world cup and whatever he chooses for next season. Correct call by the club in my opinion.
