Imagine after a decade of nightmares for us, we somehow come out the other end with 2 league title
Should take away their CL wins between 1994 and 2018 and award it to the runners up ...
What a past 10-15 years this is turning out to be for us, 2 extra league titles, 2 Champions Leagues.

What a ride

And here I thought they'd perfected the "dark arts". Turns out the refs knew they were gonna dive anyway.

Football would be much better if we scrubbed Barcelona, City, Juve. They are all cheats and have had their chance. Time to delete them.

Is this only Spanish league games? They should look into European games, that game in 08/09 at Stamford Bridge was definitely referee rigged.

After the process give us the 09 champions league :wenger:

I'd be over the fecking moon if we get those 2 cl titles but I doubt it would come to pass unfortunately, the implications would be massive.

Although barca did have farcical games in both of those wins, against Chelsea in 2009 and arsenal in 2011.

Isn't this just for La Liga? The Chelsea game while pretty obviously fishy shouldn't fall into this investigation ?

plus where are these blood samples
The Spanish courts ruled that the Fuentes blood bags be destroyed. They basically got rid of the evidence while FIFA twiddled their thumbs.

In my book, if you destroy evidence then you're guilty and should be charged as such but FIFA don't give a feck.

Between this and Man City's verdict, we'll need a few new rooms in our trophy museum.

The accusations are very straight forward so that makes me think they have very solid evidence supporting them.

That’s wild. Has there been any word on the potential punishments if they are found guilty?

I’ve always had the thought that Barcelona are perceived as too important to the football ecosystem in Spain to be allowed to fail

The charge is a logical step after those leaks of course. No one is denying this payment. Now we'll see if barca broke the rules by bribing the refs or really just payed him for consultation as the club tells. If our club bribed the refs, then punishment is neccessary according to the law as well as take away the trophies from that period. If there was no bribing, everyone needs to move on.

Partidazo] Extract from the Public Prosecutor's complaint against FC Barcelona for the payments to Enriquez Negreira. "Barça reached an agreement in exchange for money to obtain actions tending to favour the club in the decision making of the referees in the matches".

yeah i’m sure the 7 million was just to ask the head of refs to explain the offside rule.

More details here. Credit to @FreckBarca

FC Barcelona, Negreira (former ref VP), Rosell and Bertomeu (fomer Barca presidents), Óscar Grau and Albert Soler (two fomer Barca executives) have been charged with:

-continued business corruption, in its sports fraud version.
-breach of trust
-false business records.

The Prosecutor's Office points out: "through the presidents Sandro Rosell and Josep Maria Bartomeu, Barça reached and maintained a strictly confidential verbal agreement with the accused Negreira, so that, in his capacity as vice president of the referee technical committee and in exchange for money, he would carry out actions tending to favor Barcelona in the decision-making of the referees in the matches played by the Club, and thus in the results of the competitions; referees whose designation for each match of the official Spanish competitions is carried out carried out within this referee committee. This committee is also in charge of the evaluations -in which the defendant participated- for the promotions and demotions of the referees as well as the proposal of candidates for international refereering".

Other presidents such as Laporta, Gaspart and Nuñez are equally involved but are not charged as It has prescribed. Laporta and Gaspart have been called to testify.

Barca paid 6.6M€ to Negreira since 2001, but only the 1.2M€ they paid him between 2014 and 2015 and the 1.6M€ they paid him during 2016 and 2018, for a total of 2.9M€, have not prescribed.

Little extra info coming from this tweet.
Between 15/16 and 17/18 (114 games) Barca paid 1.6M to the ref VP. They had:
33 penalties for them 3 penalties against
23 red cards in favor 4 expulsions against

Between 18/19 and 20/21 (114 games) Barca made no payments to the ref VP. They had:
23 penalties for them 14 penalties against
15 red cards in favor 10 red cards against

Are we talking just finals, because what about the teams they knocked out on the road to winning those finals. I'm thinking specifically 2009? :wenger:

Messi's records/goals/trophies.

At this rate Steven Gerrard will have been more successful than him. Anyone going to revive the Maradona v Madonna thread? :wenger:

That's a real world take. And those sums are extraordinary and the logical assumption is that it cannot have been for mere specialised information. I'd love to get info on the general income that ex ref and his "company" made from other clients.
