So you ignore all the others? Thats pretty convinient

Out of those 4, only VdB is a bad signing. Pellestri is on loan and doing quite well and James was a low risk punt that even turned a profit

Considering we bought Sancho we really should have extended Diallos loan spell, but i see no reason why we cant arrange a new loan deal for him in January
Hasnt played this season, or has played just once.
The other one was terrible

Trophies are overrated - Ole

All that matters for the Glaziers is top 4 trophy.

Maybe we can get lucky with a good cup run as well.

This current squad of players is good enough to challenge for a Premier League title. But we'll never come close to achieving that under Ole's management & our current coaches. Give this exact same squad of players to Klopp, Pep, Tuchel, even Rodgers and I'd be sure if competing. But I've no faith whatsoever in this management team.
Today was another perfect example of just had bad we have it right now. Look at Leicester, a team not exactly bang-in form, but a team of 11 players who know their role on the pitch. A team set up by a very good coach, with a clear gameplan on how they're going to win the game today. Now look at our team, a team of individuals. Hoping for one or two of Bruno, Ronaldo, Greenwood, Pogba, Sancho to do the business and get us over the line. We'll see more performances like today too, where our better players just aren't able to get into the game and even an individual wonder strike by Greenwood isn't enough over the 90 minutes to get us a point.
What's success here this season? Everyone seems to think, well Ole needs to win a trophy. We're already out of the League Cup, it'll be clear by the end of this year that we're not going to be in any title race and do people really think Ole can lead us to a Champions League title? So that leaves the FA Cup. Is victory there really good enough though, let's be honest it's not. We should be challenging for the Premier League, that's the main target here. With the investment in this squad over the last 3 years, with the calibre of players we've signed, this should be our aim. But it's inevitable we will once again fail because of this manager and his coaching team.

I'm not anti Scottish, I just wanted Moyes out.
He’s 100% right, admit it, you’d be happy with a trophy but we’re still shite, it counts for nothing unless you actually play well as a team. Cup’s are just one off games, you could get lucky all the way through and win it. If it was the Prem ist’s a different story, cup competitions not so much and can hide a lot of the problems within the club.
But knowing your love for Ole, if we do get lucky all the way through and win one, you’ll be praising our legend of a manager for winning it.

If a good player is a good player then why do managers want different players, why do players perfofrm differently at different clubs or at the same club under different managers?. Why do managers have different opinions of players if someone is either just good or bad, it’s total nonsense.

It’s a really odd logic your using which seems to be heavily influenced be fact you want to cling onto idea Ole hasn’t failed, even picked a team two years ahead using same formation as Ole without a single new player.

It’s time to let go, he’s failed.
Since its impossible to clone players, different teams have to make do with different players. Thats just the way it is. Of course there are different opinions about a players capabilities. Lukaku for example is seen as one of the best strikers in the world and a complete donkey by others

Of course you can come up with a thousand examples of players who are looking great at one club and then completely lost at another, but generally speaking, a players talent is pretty constant, despite differing circumstances. Another example is club vs International, where largely the "key players" for an international team are also the biggest stars in their respective clubs.

Chelsea under Lampard were languishing in 9th when he was sacked, looking completely hopeless despite the wealth of talent at their disposal, and they won the fecking CL the same year.

I picked that team to illustrate we have a good spine in place to build on. Do you prefer me making some hypothetical muppet line up of what i think our hypothetical future manager would want to get?

This "failed/succeded" dichotomy you keep pushing is nonsensical, because the world is not that black and white. Yeah, if Ole gets the sack now, hes "failed" in that sense, but the squad is in much better shape now than it was 3 years ago

Maybe Gary Neville will reopen his Captain United bag again and blame Woodward after 3 years of silence from him.
Yeah he will be fighting to defend his old mate with him getting it both barrels from Carragher

Wish these media guys would have the balls to ask him questions during the presser instead of the 'It is Andy Cole's birthday' and what do you think of the Newcastle takeover
The soft arse Utd journos still buy into this romantic story far too much

Never wanted him to get the full appointment in the first place.

I was OK with the original plan - sack Mourinho, have Solskjaer as interim, appoint a DOF and let him decide. But then Solskjaer got a few good results and the plans changed. If a DOF came in, looked at Solskjaer's work and kept him it would have been fine. But without one, the only people we had to judge his work were the same superficial people who appointed the previous managers.
Sounds like we have exactly the same stance on things

I fear he is now becoming bigger than the club. You have his friends like neville who are hesitating from criticizing him, you have the so called true reds who think questioning him means questioning the club.

Any top club with bigger ambition would have sacked him after his europa loss but he was rewarded and now his position seems to be too safe even when this season he has done a poor job. We don't press, we don't run or work hard, we don't play like a team anymore. I feel now he is taking us back to a point where the next coach will do another rebuild.

We are stuck in 90s era. Modern clubs have gone past us and even Liverpool have finally found the success mantra. I fear things will get ugly unless something drastic changes. But this is not good and anyone still defending this manager needs a proper look at themselves. We are criticizing Ole the manager and he is not above this club.

You have absolutely nailed it perfectly and only need to look at odds just to see how safe he is

Alot of the manutd fans are not a bright bunch. It's pretty obvious the manager is incompetent but he continues to enjoy an overwhelming support. It is either ignorance, self sabotage or self righteousness.
The average match going top red united fan attempts to pride him/herself not to be reactionary, sensible and loyal but in reality that's foolishness! We are not better than fans of other clubs who demand better for their team and are "disloyal" as a result.

It's going to be almost comical how much the likes of Neville and the other United pundits skate around the issue of sacking him or even criticising him in any way
Well Neville has said that we don't need any new players as we have enough talent if we get a good structure and get our tactics right. It's a lot from Neville.

Looking on here and facebook, most want him out and it seems the away fans are getting fed up as well.

Another nail in the coffin for those using Klopp's first few years at Liverpool as means to defend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Per Phil McNulty via the BBC: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/58942621

''One of the cases for Solskjaer's defence has been a similar points record to the much-celebrated Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool - and the two face each other in a potentially pivotal clash at Old Trafford next Sunday.

In his first 104 games at Liverpool. Klopp won 196 league points, while Solskjaer has claimed 194 in the same time at United. Victory on Saturday would have had him ahead of Klopp's record.

But the problem for Solskjaer is that the pace gets a lot faster from this point on. In Klopp's next 123 Premier League games, he won 283 points at an average of 2.30 per game, up from 1.88.''
Well, it's not, is it? The stats back up the comparison, to date.

The irony of so many fans now arriving at the conclusion that we won’t be challenging for the league, that Ronaldo is going to have to be accommodated and is a problem when not scoring, and that we don’t have a clue how to press or play. Wilson was calling it before the season started and was ridiculed on here.

He’s so smug now. Very annoying.

Pressure from outside is justified. 5 wins out of 11 games in all comps, 2 of those games we were awful but somehow won. After almost 3 years of same coaching staff at the club, it's normal from media and fans to question our direction. It would be the same with Liverpool, City, Chelsea.

You think our current form could actually reach Klopp’a lofty levels? You’ve completely missed the point, there’s no way Ole will be averaging 2.3 points in the next 123 games like Klopp.

Neville spent 5 minutes talking about us last night. Not once did he discuss the manager.

How does Ole beat an in-form Liverpool side firing on all cylinders, where the front 3 are confident and scoring goals for fun, where their defence is resolute enough?

In the first 7 PL games, he should've pushed the team to get a decent and consistent performance out of them, that would allow the team to go on and perform during a tough run of games...

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus

He won't, he's told us he didn't believe in Ole without saying it a couple of weeks ago. I don't expect him to go into it as he is probably mates with Ole and it's bloody obvious anyway. Everyone else is already saying it.

He's questioned tactics and said we won't win the league early doors, to the amazement of his fellow pundits at the time. It was obvious he knew.

Starting Maguire yesterday really does sum him up, just fecking clueless. Here's a player who has played more games than anyone else on the planet over the last few years, a player who played through to the final of the Euros in the summer after rushing himself back from injury. He barely trains and Ole thinks it's a good idea to put him straight back into the team, risking further injury. If there's anyone who's in need of a rest then it's Maguire. Not for Ole though, he's absolutely content with running his players into the ground as long as he stays in the job.

The more I think about it the angrier I get. It's not like it was a choice between Maguire and a lad from the academy. Bailly is fully fit ffs. This is a player who was first choice at times last year. What message does it send to Bailly that he's not good enough to start against Leicester? Resting him yesterday could've ensured he was fully fit for Atalanta and Liverpool as well. This is a manager who does not know how to rotate or fully utilise a squad. What's the point in having more than 14 or so players if Ole isn't gonna use them?

His comments about Rashford sticking to football have wound me up as well. Maybe he should heed his own advice. Cos he's clearly not good enough. Any other club and he'd be out on his arse.

Mate...thats some serious case of confirmation bias, hes been under pressure since day 1. This is from last year

If you want to see someone with a free pass, look no longer than Arteta
No he hasn't. The article you posted is when we were pretty much in a relegation form... Jose and LVG were constantly slaughtered for our playing style but with Ole it was different up until a few days ago. Nobody dared to question our shite on a stick football until we started to deservedly drop points.

Come on. As intrim he was constantly written off despite the good run, our bad end to the season and pretty much all the media said he was done, then the same the season after when we could nor score in a brothel

He hasnt been under more scrutiny than any other United manager (it comes with the position) but hes not been given a free ride either, same as Moyes, LvG and Jose

I understand the point being made, but the stats don't support it. Ole has almost identical points to Klopp at the same stage. You can't argue against that.

I wasn't saying anything about the future.

Of course he has got a freer ride than the other ex United managers. Not one of the his mates in the media has said anything directly about his incompetency. Of the media or ex players only Sherwood has been steady in saying that it is due to him that United is playing so badly. Only now has Hargreaves started saying about tactics. Obviously they are friends and he is not going to say much against his friend in the public. It is so obvious that as a pundit they have to say something because it has been terrible since the Leeds game. We may have won some games but we have not been in control of any game after that.
