Good stuff. I really want it to work out for him here. There’s been some ups and downs but hopefully we’re heading in the right direction.

Doesn't mean jack shit. The amount of money he's spent and If it doesn't start right he should be rightfully sacked....

We couldn't go into the season with his contract up in the air. Good decision to get it done and dusted before it begins. He has to win something this season though. Lots of pressure on him to do that.

Who in their right mind is against this decision!? We have made progress under Ole and he has rightfully been awarded a new contract. I hope that with that contract though, there is a clear expectation to turn this progress into trophies because that is the next logical step.

Great stuff, always maintained, the club will be in a much better position when he leaves as manager than when he came in.

Complete revamp of the analytics and sports science behind the scenes, attracted some really top talent and not scared of getting shut of big name mistakes.

He’s messed up in the cups but you can’t deny the way the clubs’ progressing under his management is very, very positive.

It's ok, he just needs to deliver success this season, i dont mind the club extending his contract for 2 more years

 No two ways about it, deserved.

People will perhaps rightly claim we should have won a cup or two during his time so far but overall the rebuild and overwhelmingly more positive direction he has the club heading are what matters. That’s what he was brought in to do.

Let him finish the rebuild and let’s try to all get behind him eh. He’s one of us and Ive believed all along that he’s doing the right things, he will always put the club first, zero ego unlike some others we’ve had.

Let’s back him and reevaluate at the end of the season.

Never learn our lesson. He will probably be sacked by the end of the season and need to pay him £10m.

Club is in the best shape it's been since 2012/13. He deserves huge credit for that.

Hopefully the board now backs him.

We have a long way to go to match Klopps 600mil spent and Peps 900mil. Plus Chelsea 700mil.

When will we ever learn. Phil Jones new contract made more sense since Phil Jones at least got potential to be a great defender. There is minimal potential sticking with Ole for a long time if we want to win things and there is so many better managers out there.

Don’t think you can argue with it. We are moving in the right direction as others have said above.

Still, I think the next season will show whether this is the peak he can offer — a side who are comfortable top 4 and play good football in bunches but can’t extend to a title challenge, or if he can actually motivate/coach a side to genuinely be challenging. Especially if we continue to invest with the likes of Varane and another midfielder.

City, Liverpool and Chelsea fans are the most delighted with this news...

United won't be a threat for the next few years so can safely rule us out for winning trophies

Good news. We’ve made great progress under his guidance. We, and he, needs to show that the next (and final) step can be taken to truly become an elite manager and an elite team.

Nonsense. Rival fans for the first time in almost a decade have started to fear or at the very least respect us again. We were a laughing stock under previous managers.

Give the guy some respect for how he’s turned this club around and stop pandering to your oppo supporting mates.

Interesting quote that about our off the pitch conduct. Coinciding with the appointment of Murtough/Fletcher maybe?

Great for the stability and trust it shows. But this season is critical. Either we progress a level or we regress. No team constantly just stays 3 or 2nd

Great news. We are slow but steadily becoming a force again. Ole has done well but next season is very important for him.
