Is this the thread where we all name the best player in our club's history?
Okay then: Beckenbauer

If you could get Dr Who to go and kidnap a player from a clubs past to improve them the most this season, who would it be for:

Man United -
Man City - Aguero (I'll fill this one in for you, nobody is picking anyone else)
Liverpool -
Chelsea -
Arsenal -
Chelsea -
Spurs -

Feel free to do any of the other, shit teams if you want. (This part is a joke, white text makes it a joke).

For me, i'd have the following:
Keane (Roy)
Aguero
Souness
Drogba
Viera
Gascoigne
Man United - Brian Robson
Man City - Two Chops
Liverpool - Gareth Barry - he was better than Alonso anyway
Chelsea - Chris Sutton - they need a striker
Arsenal - Ray Parlour - the pay rise might help pay off the wife
Chelsea - Again? Flo - any striker will do
Spurs - Ledley King

Gareth Barry never played for Liverpool?

So I’m assuming the thread is to pick players that would gel with and improve your current team?

If so for Ten Hag’s United;

Arsenal - Bergkamp
Chelsea - Makelele
City - Silva
Liverpool - Gerrard
Spurs - Bale
United - Rooney

Based on our current needs:

Man United - Van Nistelrooy
Man City - Aguero
Liverpool - Suarez
Chelsea - Lampard
Arsenal - Bergkamp
Spurs - Bale

Obviously I have some recency bias.

Peak Rooney any day. His winning mentality, desire to work for the team, first touch and goal scoring ability would make him invaluable to us.

Utd - Keane box to box plus Carrick DM
City - Stephen Ireland when Bernardo goes, need a left back so Michael Ball
Chelsea - Zola to show Mount what a ten is
Liverpool - El Zhar, Mane replacement
Spurs - wingback Bale
Arsenal - Seaman

Young Carrick or Keane for United. Then you know midfield is set for 10 years.

36 year old semi retired Paul Scholes completely changed our season and team when he came back in the middle of the season (that was already decent team anyway, far better than our current), imagine how much we would be improved by peak Scholes.

City: David Silva but based on current needs Kompany would be a good buy.
Liverpool: I'd want to say Suarez but their weakness is midfield so Stevie G
Chelsea: Dont have a proper no 9, so Drogba
Tottenham: Bale or Ginola
Arsenal: Henry or Viera
United: we lack a leader and disciplinarian so Roy Keane.

Roy Keane.

As much as I'd love King Eric to be the man to sort this sorry bunch, the only man capable is Keane.

There's more charisma in what Keano flushes down the toilet than the entirety of our dressing room.

Ok, for Arsenal, just to be different and not going for the obvious Vieira / Henry, if you could tell me that Partey would be fit and not joining Prison FC, I'd seriously consider a prime Fabregas to play alongside him, as I think that's now the obvious weak spot in the team now Jesus is here.

Robson. Proper box to box player and hard as nails.
Keane's attitude and taking no prisoners but better finishing, passing range and individual skill.
Ripping it up and demanding of his team mates.
What a difference he would make.

I’d always pick Keane, even if we had a squad full of top midfielders and nobody to to play up front or in defence, it would still be Keano.

Keane, it kind goes without saying.

Maybe Robson as well but I didn't get to watch him that much so I don't know whether he's better or not.
Arsenal: henery because why not, he was incredible.
Liverpool: if they're gonna try to play with a number 9 might as well get either Suarez or Torres.
Chelsea: yeah Drogba.
Spurs: Gascoigne.

Think Carrick would suit ETHs thinking just fine. A really clever player that could give good cover for the defense and also start attacks from deep.

Man United - VDS (by no means the best player, he would just fix a major issue)
Man City - David Silva
Liverpool - Mane
Chelsea - Drogba
Arsenal - Vieira
Spurs - Modric

Carrick.
Bruno is a certainty at 10, and Carrick has shown that he can play second fiddle, so it's a super-solid Carrick-Fred-Bruno midfield with Eriksen coming in for Fred if needed.

Keane, Scholes, Robson….our midfield is pretty mediocre. These three would make a huge difference because they made a huge difference in great sides. Anyone mentioning decent players by association….yeah they weren’t in the same league as Keane, Scholes or Robson. They weren’t great when they played, they played in great sides though because of the players they played with.
