We genuinely look and play like underdogs fighting against a horde of all-time great players time and again.

How is it possible to have so many internationals on so much money and play like we do so frequently?

I mean, not challenging the very best is one thing, but looking like we're the relegation fodder in the majority of games we play is baffling.

What is going on?

Our midfield is generally worse or around the same level at best to every team we play. And that's just one of the reasons, but very important tbf.

We are the least organised team in the league so it’s no surprise really.

Our players are just simply a bunch of Dipshits. Constantly making the Wrong decisions in the final 3rd.

Said a million times you aren’t playing well without a decent midfield

McTominay and Matic in a 2 man midfield with 2 strikers? Fecking obviously not going to work but these professional coaches getting paid millions must see something I dont

Feels like about a decade since the club had a midfield that can play football

You can only do so much with two of Matic, McTominay and Fred in the middle of the park. You're effectively handing the control to the opposition.

Because all of our players are just a bunch of mercenaries we wooed with money who basically couldn't care less about the wellbeing of the team, obviously a few exceptions but this is primarily why I think we need to build the squad utilising the academy. If Solskjaer had blooded more youth players playing for the shirt then there's actually a chance we wouldn't have seen the attitude shift we saw this season. Just look at how much Arsenal and Chelsea improved once they started adding in all their academy graduates to the sides, that was us up until we went back to our galactico approach.

Also, we might actually have the worst midfield in the league as well, it's pretty much the root cause of why we get outplayed every game, at least in my view.

We've had years to improve on them, which is the most infuriating thing about it. McFred has been a staple in our side since 2019 for crying out loud.

Really is odd isn't it?! We constantly chase shadows and let bang average players like Semedo ghost past us. So weird.

Playing 442, but with average/slow midfielders and strikers that get involved in the play. 442 can still work but you need someone like Kanté who can get up and down quickly and a second striker/number 10. We are far too static to be giving up the extra man in midfield.

We bought too many superstars and superstar typically don't work as hard. Moreover, the team becomes more dysfunctionalas a unit. We don't even have space for Bruno in our team and pogba, who are arguably two of the best midfielder in football. Same thing is happening at psg, but that is a bit more under control because of having a good manager there. There are ways to solve this but it involves dropping some of your superstars for players with high work ethic and technical abilities. Almost similiar to what arteta is doing right now at Arsenal.

Whilst the midfield is clearly a problem how often do our front players lose the ball with a poor touch or a wrong option? Its all the fecking time.

Yes, it's comical and funny how mediocre they are, circus stuff

Watching wolves performing like a world champion team is hilarious, 0-0 now it could be 0-5

Unable even to stop the ball, unable to keep the ball, unable to run, to pass

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This such a weak group. Cant win their personal battles, cant pass the ball, cant dribble.

They truly are uncoachable.

Bang on

It’s been said to death and I don’t want to keep bringing it up but why in the hell isn’t Donny getting a run in the team it’s almost impossible to do worse than the regular starters they’re that bad.

How can we be this bad it’s shocking

Its tempting to hone in one thing but it just isn't.

You can't say it's the midfield when we lose the ball cheaply out wide, cheaply up front and even cheaply playing out at times. There is a lack of cohesiveness and perhaps quality in some positions all over the pitch.

Yet people will fixate on a formation or a couple of individuals when a whole team can't string a pass together or control the ball. I didn't realise McTominay and Matic played everybody's passes for them and control the minds of our forwards who do unfathomable things and don't work hard.

We’ve been appalling but if Cavani passes to Greenwood it’s 1-0.

Yea, I feel like our transfer business is as key to our success as is our managerial acumen. As good a coach Ralf is, when he is giving a bunch of superstars that are on ridiculous wages, it is hard to motivate them to die on the pitch and perform as a cohesive unit. We will have to trim this team and improve our transfer dealing going forward.

The only thing you can do with this team is to park the bus, defende in 9, long balls and pray

Cry about Bruno Fernandes's mistakes on the pitch -

Then cry when he is not on the pitch making us tick.

Poch wouldn't get anything out of this midfield. It is insultingly average for a Man Utd team.

Clear as day, no platform in central midfield been obvious for weeks.

Matic and mctominay too deep playing on Jones and Varane toes. The gap between those 2 and the attacking players is huge.

Put Neves in our midfield the difference would be huge.

Has to be mctominay off and bruno on in the deeper role

Could easily be another decade before we come out of this and by then it will be too late, we will not be able to compete with the money clubs and will be like a Everton type club going forward from there if we are lucky

It all comes back to the midfield as was painfully obvious pre season.

This.
They'll control the midfield and possession and will play whatever game they feel like playing. We react and are totally shit outside of the two penalty boxes.

We don’t have good enough midfielders to control or dictate play.

Switch Neves and Moutinho and we would be winning

We just need to give up on 75% of this squad, which is pretty baffling really but how much rope do you give them?
