Our next five Premier League games

Yes, which only proves that our club owners are penny-pinching morons who won't support a manager.

Which is exactly why there was a protest yesterday at Old Trafford. So what's your point? Let's be sheep and just believe in wisdom of almighty owners? How dare anybody criticize them?
You really like 2+2=5 don’t you?

I think we’ve got some room on spending rules but want to wait for Summer…. as I said.

If anything, I expect he's secretly hoping we don't win.

He'll go back to being a nobody as soon as he gets to cut his hair.
He’ll no doubt come up with something else like a Man Utd player to score 30+ league goals in a season.

We've got 10 games left against sides currently outside the top eight - Spurs, Palace, Leeds and Forest at home, West Ham, Everton, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Sunderland and Brighton away.

We've got four games left against sides currently in the top eight - Villa, Brentford and Liverpool at home, Chelsea away.

42 points to play for. Think we'll have done really well if we get 30.

3x10 x 90% = 27
4x 1 = 4
27+4=31
Isn't this what we are aiming at?

Realistically we will probably get 25 pts in the top group, but might get something better than 4 points from the 2nd group.

10W 3L 1D. That would be way better than the vast majority of our form since Fergie retired. That's almost title winning form over a season.

From the remaining 14 games I'd say something more like 8W 2L 4D would be fairly good going. I expect to see some of our squad holes cause issues.

Well, we don't have any 2 games a week arrangement. Apart from injury or suspension, Carrick doesn't need to rotate. In fact, we will never know how he can manage a 60 games season

Great to win the first three. Realistically, the next two should be easier, so it would feel like a disappointment to not go 5/5 now. Before those results I'd have definitely taken 11/15 points, but now it almost has to be 15 or at least 13.

My biggest concern for us in terms of keeping this form up is if we did get an injury/suspension or two in the near future to particular players. Mbeumo and Amad would be hard to replace for a lengthy period of time (we already saw this during AfCon). Lacey would probably need to be used from the bench. Casemiro or Mainoo being replaced by Ugarte or a younger player is the biggest drop off in quality we have IMO. If it was Mainoo who was out, it would maybe at least be easier for Bruno to drop back and play Mount at no.10 but Ugarte as a starter for multiple games would be a huge concern for me. Maybe Carrick has something up his sleeve and Heaven/Martinez would be preferred, but I doubt it. The other at the moment would be Shaw, as Dorgu is out. It would probably be Dalot at left back which I don't like, unless we tried Martinez there and Heaven comes back in.

Our squad looks better. I'm content with our CB's, RB's (even though I'm not a Dalot fan he's looked OK lately), and no.10's for sure even if Mount isn't Bruno. I think we are light elsewhere, but as many have said, one game a week should aid us in that chance of getting Champion's League football.

Win the next 2 and I’ll be very happy. When’s the last time we actually won 5 on the bounce?

Was thinking about this guy the other day. Imagine we beat spurs and we’re 2-1 up against West Ham and concede in the 90th minute

I think he would like that. From what I see on social media, he is making money off United not winning 5 on the bounce. The hysteria around him will ramp up if we beat Spurs this weekend.

What do you think we need to make CL qualification ? About 65 points ?

The muppet in us would start with the target points and then figure out how we got there. I did this 3 games ago and assumed we would lose to City and Arsenal. 65 points was still achievable. Clearly, with the results we’ve had then it’s actually looking quite comfortable now. However, we never do things the easy way so I’m wary of an unexpected banana skin.

I hope so much that that mop is being removed come Tuesday evening.

At the same time, if he loses that hair, there are birds that will lose a valuable nesting site come spring.

As a United fan and a keen ornithologist, I am torn.

How do we get on historically in the Premier League home games which commemorate the Munich disaster?

65 points looks about right for 5th from previous seasons. That's 8 more wins from last 14 games. Cautiously optimistic. Wouldn't suprise me if it's very close between us, Chelsea and Pool though, even though Pool's form has been shakey. Bookies have us odds on though too!

Imagine if we had taken full points against Wolves, Burnley, Leeds, West Ham and Bournemouth ...

Absolutely ! What a missed opportunity !

Unfortunately we can’t change the past but we can influence the future - onwards to the promised land Newton Trafford, more PL titles and the CL

Exactly this, whilst I don't advocate assaulting him in the stadium he's kind of using the clubs poor situation to his benefit.

He's making a joke of our club.

Our next five matches to take us through March:

Everton (A)
Palace (H)
Newcastle (A)
Villa (H)
Bournemouth (A)

Avoiding defeats away and winning the home matches would be wonderful. A win against Villa would obviously be a massive result.

3 wins and 2 draws would be great.

I swear to God, it always feels like we're playing more away games than home.

Weirdly, looking at that list, Villa seems to me like the best chance of winning with the way Emery has his team play.

In particular Everton and Newcastle worry me most.

Need to pick ourselves up after tonight.

Can see us having a slump over those next 5 games and suffering a couple of defeats. Can’t expect any of to be easy, even Palace at home.

Similarly, tonight might just be a glitch and we win 3-4 of those games and avoid defeat.

WWLWD. United don't enjoy playing against overly physical team like Newcastle, and they'll be very motivated after their lost in the reverse fixture.

I should have took it to the bookies. It’s very hard to win 5 in a row. I’d never beat my hair on it.

It's fine if you're in Europe/the cups and can pad it out with wins over Bodo/Glimt and Reading or whoever.

I don't think we'll manage it this season.

9 points or more is fine, especially if 3 are against Villa.

Extremely tough next 5. Probably would think 10 points from that batch which should set us up nicely for the run in.

9 points would still give us the right PPG to be on track for top 5.

A lot of rough games in this league though, hard to get a truly easy run of fixtures.

Hope we can throw in a more energetic performance against Everton given the long break before that game. I actually fancy us to beat Everton, Palace and Villa. But I can see us only getting 1-2 points from Newcastle & Bournemouth away.

We also have an 11~ day gap between Newcastle & Villa. Hoping Carrick and the staff have some good sessions planned for these long gaps - some more fun things to keep the togetherness and confidence high.

I think it's fair to say we exceeded expectations in the previous five fixtures with 13/15 points. So, if we can get 10-11 from the next five I think it's a solid return from 10 games / 30 available points. It's the kind of form that this "chasing top 5" pack hasn't been able to maintain for 10+ games.
