Welcome to Manchester United, Patrick. You are going to be good here. Velkommen.

Welcome to MUFC , Patrick.

I look forward to seeing you win many awards with the new team that is being built.:+1:

He's going to be an important player to see if Amorim is good enough or not.

A player that fits the system in part of the first 11 that was empty at LB.

Once Dorgu gets a few run of games, alot of the players don't fit the system thing should take a bit of a breather. Dorgu at LWB, Dalot at RWB is enough options with Amad providing more attacking options to see if we can go from playing like a championship side to a top 4 side again.

SOS 20 year old player from Lecce :(

No pressure lad

I look forward to the calm, measured and in no way histrionic reactions if the 20 year old moving to a new country midseason doesn't hit the ground running.

Straight in against Leicester for me, let the lad have his debut against a struggling side.

We don't have anywhere near a top 4 squad, so what makes you think a 20 year old prosepct from Serie A is going to suudnely make us contenders for CL football?

Because Amorim has a left footed left back now.

I didn't say we must qualify for a top 4 position, I said we must play like a team contending for a top 4 position.

He has enough CB's, he has enough RB's, he now has one LB with Dalot being an ambidextrous option, Amorim only really needs an LAM and a ST left to fill the gaping holes to the point we must see the performances improve.

Hope Patrick goes onto a United career similar to one Patrice who played in a similar position for the club.

So why are we signing yet another prospect when it's first team immediate quality we are so sorely lacking? Long term it all sounds good but are we fecking 15th

Because we're building a squad to compete in 2-3 years? Because there is no other way out of the mess we're in, we can't afford to buy players who will have immediate impact.. I swear I read comments from people they would accept relegation if it means a total overhaul and 2 months later it's we need impact/results now!

Is there any indication on when he'll start training? I think we might need to wait some time for his visa to come through? Although Marmoush has gone straight in at City so hopefully it's a quick process now.

Marmoush has Canadian citizenship as well, although I have no idea if that plays any role in this process

This poor lad is going to be expected by some people to have a Bruno Fernandes like impact on the rest of the season.

I don't think he's going to be the messiah as such, but it's going to be nice having a left footed player at LWB who knows how to attack. May, just may, lead to a bit more dimension up front if the two 10s have someone running outside them.

Presumably Dalot would go to RWB, despite his faults. He is more attacking than Maz. Would imagine Maz may end up covering Licha in defence.

Defensively, hopefully Evans and Maguire can at least guide Dorgu a bit on that side of the game, he'll at least have a bit more defensive cover while he learns the league and formation.

Just watched the welcome video for him and I think we got the real deal in him. Very mature for his age, very calm and collected and are ready to bring his intensity, strength and hard runs in to our games. Speaks perfect English as well.

Buckle up for a shit next 6 months then.

Wouldnt mind if he gets close to the following years though!

So probably just close his Player Performance thread for 2-3 years, until we can give an honest comment about his performance.

Was he used to playing full 90 often at Lecce? It’s not like we have much cover for Dorgu now

Pretty much all his Serie A performances this year were full games. Only exceptions were a sending off, and one were he was subbed after 87 minutes.

I get tired of comments like these, as if we have to coddle every single player until they have 3 + years of experience at the club.

It’s not like he’s walking into a title contending side expecting him to be an x-factor. We are complete crap and there hasn’t been a LESS pressurized environment for a young player to come in and learn/grow at the club because expectations are essentially on the floor for everyone in the team. He’ll literally be an improvement if he runs fast/dribbles well. No one is asking g him to be Marcelo

Missed the point completely.

The problem of course is that if we're noncompetitive for 2-3 years we'll be replacing the manager when we've bought players for what is a relatively niche system. So we've gotta see something well in advance of that.

He will be cover for Dalot currently surely? I don’t really rate Dalot, especially at LWB, but it would be pretty surprising if a 20 year old from a relegation threatened Italian team was immediately ahead of him.

Don’t tell me that our only signing is intended as a backup to a headless chicken. I’m depressed enough already.

Ha - well I hope not as we definitely need some excitement from that side of the pitch. It’s just a massive step up but I hope he’s does make it

Are we waiting on paperwork for this guy? Is he already training with the squad and will he be eligible to play at the weekend?

Like every new young player, it takes at least a half year to settle in and get used to the pace.

On top of that, he’s only 20 and came to the club with the highest pressure. Dont expect too much.

How has he linked up with Hojlund in internationals? I’m hoping he will be more willing to pass to him, as some of his team mates at United don’t seem to want to…

It depends on other players. With Licha’s injury Mazraoui will most likely play a lot of games as a center backs, moving Dalot to the right and vacating that left wing. If we assume that the RWB slot is occupied, Dorgu will probably be Dalot’s back up, at least for the start, yeah.

His first appearance, United TV, a solid one. Loved his bursting of pride dad in the photo session!

Hope he can grow with the rest of our young squad and be part of the new United.
