I'm concerned about his technical ability and footballing IQ; transitioning to the PL from Italy is a tall order, but he doesn't seem to have the quickness of thought to make an impact.

He had a couple of decent pullbacks in the 2nd half, but when it came to actually crossing the ball again the technique and accuracy was poor. Got into some good positions with his runs but needs full training sessions working on how to get under the ball and put in something acceptable.

They would have known he was extremely raw when signing him. He definitely needs some work, but its early days yet
The problem is he shouldn't be starting next season. He needs the security of an experienced player to shadow from, and benefit from time of growing as a player. We urgently need a LWB for next season.

Dorgu doesn’t seem to show any real drive whether he is in pressure position or not, always stuck in one gear. I get he is adjusting to new league but it so weird.

I can excuse inconsistency on technique but his general approach to the game is abysmal. Slow on and off the ball. Passive and so unaware.

He's young and playing in a terrible team but it's deer in the headlights stuff. I don't blame him but he'll keep getting game time because we have no one else.

Looks out of his depth. So off the pace of the game, easily dispossessed and very poor defensive instincts. I'd rather have Amass starting tbh. Dorgu currently adds nothing to the team, just helps the opposition spring counters when he gets caught on the ball again and again.

Some good moments thrown in with a fair few bad.

I think he'll prove to be a good backup wingback and nothing more.

He looks so dopey. Always lacking in intensity and sharpness.

Yep, always a second late to react, especially in defensive phases.

We could've saved the 30m and applied it elsewhere this summer without degrading our league position.

Is this another player that’s become lost after joining us? Hr was raw when he came, but we saw constant runs, pace and power, with shit end product. Wasn’t a very good showing today.

I was quite impressed when he first came in but like most that come here, has quickly regressed. He’s very raw. I think the most concerning for me is that I’m not sure he’s any better than Malacia and offers quite similar things.

He will not have a career at the level we want to be... and probably not even at the level we currently are.

He's got ability but he doesn't seem anywhere near ready to be our first choice next season.
We need someone for that position especially like a Nuno Mendes who will just come in and hit the ground running.

Who signed this one off? Poor technically and poor anticipation to top it off

The Bournemouth goal was much more on Shaw than him, it was a dreadful pass played late, slow, and straight into a pressing trap Bournemouth had set.

His end product is ropey, couple of lovely cutbacks but wasteful too. The overreaction on here is typical of the Caf scapegoating, but he definitely hasn't been anything to write home about either.

A perfect summation of that “how do our scouting and recruitment teams keep getting it so wrong” thread

A step up from Malacia. But still needs to level up his game by a few notches. Will give him at least 1.5 more year to settle down, get games and get used to the league

Hahaha yes I so blame Shaw but Dorgu has also been poor and for all his physical attributes, he still gets bullied far too often

Needs to improve massively next season

Just isn't ready, like a lot of our players. And hopefully we don't sign 3 or 4 more players like this in the summer or we're fecked.

He isn't ready for this and probably will never be. Saving my take on him until next season.

I was against the signing after watching a number of his all touches highlights. One thing that surprised me though is his off the ball overlapping runs which are quite good. However, every other aspect of his game is just bang average or poor.

Given how important the wingbacks are in this system, we’re going to need to do better than him at Lwb

Yeah that's fair, there's a reasonable chance he'll look better when he's got someone who can actually play the system in front of him.

He's not been good for the past games but he still creates 1 or 2 good chances a game with his overlapping runs. I still think he might turn out to be a good player but he definitelly has some work to do and is far from the finished product.

Lets not blame anyone but himself for his own performance

The way he defends as part of a team reminds me of AWB where he seems ... Slow or interested.

Not very sharp at all today. After a bright start for us, he’s regressed since the red card.

AWB looks like a much better player both defending and going forward

There isn't much point in judging a 20 year old January signing coming to the most physical league after a few months in a shite team. We'll see what things look like next year within what will hopefully be a much more functional roster.

All that said, I'm worried about this one.

Made a bright start to his career here but he seems to have gone backwards. It’s like he is trying to hard.

AWB is better. I didn't mean to make a direct comparison, more the style of how he goes to close people down or lack of awareness about those around him
