He scored the goal from a set-piece/throw-in which fell to him; I still think he was lacking a bit as an attacking outlet and creative force in open play.

We've seen with him at LWB that he's plenty capable of winning tackles and holding on to the ball (generally by passing backwards), and that was what most of his performance yesterday also involved, with United desperately holding on to the lead. Prior to the goal he hadn't done anything in an offensive sense.

Similar to Ugarte he benefited from mostly playing backs to the wall, as opposed to the onus being on the front foot and making something happen with the ball. When he had the ball he didn't seem threatening in the way an Amad, Mbeumo or Cunha does, he just did well in keeping it. The term "defensive winger" springs to mind.

I'm pleased he got the goal, which was a moment of quality, but I think it's warping some peoples' judgement a bit as to what the rest of his performance actually involved.
Yea this is just incorrect. He was very good yesterday.

Dorgubauerinho yesterday. The goal stole the show, but he was outstanding in all aspects of play yesterday. Shocking that he only 60% of the votes for MOTM.

He was good against Villa in the previous match on the left and was easily player of the tour in pre-season. When we arrived back though, to play Fiorentina at OT, the hesitancy seemed to come back.

I keep hearing some say his technique is poor but his first touch is quality and we are seeing when he plays without fear that he's an absolute handful. He's young and will need us to be a little patient but hopefully we're seeing his true ability shine through with his confidence now rising.

Played well as an emergency right wing option and took his goal brilliantly.

His adaptability could make him a very useful player, especially when we're (hopefully) back in Europe.

Pretty much every great United side has had a player that can play multiple positions.

I gave it to Heaven as I thought he was outstanding as well but it was a hard choice as Dorgu was fantastic.

There’s going to be more criticism of Dorgu I feel until people realise what he's actually good at, rather than focusing on just his bad points. I still think he could be a really good squad player for us. More performances like that against Newcastle and hopefully people will change their minds.

Heaven was fantastic, though for me Dorgu was outstanding. Either way, the kids stole the show.

There’s been no doubt about Dorgu’s engine, but he’s been a bit clumsy in attack until Newcastle. Hopefully he’s filled with confidence now and maintains this new gear he’s found.

Good to hear he was outstanding against Newcastle. I was beginning to worry that we’ve bought another dud - albeit “reasonably priced” in a sense. Hoping he kicks on and becomes a great squad option, if not a first xi option in the future.

within the next two or three years he could develop into a very useful player

atm still in the young and learning stage

Happy for him the other night

Especially if we play a proper back 4, his physicality would be useful as a marauding left back when the defenders' attentions are more focused on the LW or LAM, I think. Intriguing to see what he a player he will turn out to be because with a bit more refinement he could be unstoppable with those physical traits.

He’s been relatively crap this season.

He was in my opinion our best player in pre season. I was shocked how good he was against Newcastle. No offence to Heaven but Dorgu should have taken the MOTM award. The press seemed split with many giving it to Heaven who was also excellent.

Man Utd 1:1 Wolves
Why didn't he start on the right after the performance against Newcastle

Had his best game on the right, but yeah let’s move him back to the left.

Was good against Newcastle so maybe we can get 4-5 mill for him in january?

There was no reason for him to be offside on the disallowed goal.

He was overall decent, but should've played as a right winger as there was zero threat from that side.

Looks a revelation playing further forward on the right, so yeah...let's put him back to where he's less effective...

Any ‘system’ that constantly isolates Dorgu as our widest attacker against the opponent’s fullback (especially on the left where he can’t even chop in and shot) is not a good one and is deserving of ridicule.

Why didn't he start on the right after the performance against Newcastle
Because he now understands the system, so he can go back to the previous position. Or something smart like that.

I thought he was OK. He was easily cutting inside and causing some chaos for Wolves, some good crosses and a shot.

I actually think he is a better attacker than defender.
