He's improving. I thought that he was fine tonight. He's been one of our best players in pre-season.

What a breath of fresh air this lad is. A real threat down that left wing even when we’re playing shite.

Impressed with him tonight. Getting a bit more comfortable with the ball as well.

Best player on the US-tour. Dalot could not replace him on lwb, but it was Dorgus weakest performance of the tour. Should have crossed for a Højlund tap in but went for goal instead. Decent finish, but it cost us the victory. Sure starter on LWB.

What a difference a proper pre-season makes. Hopefully he maintains this form for the new season and he should be an undisputed starter and an excellent signing.

He looks like he is going to be a great buy…..amazing how much better he looks without Garnacho blocking the space in front of him

Yes it helps that Cunha used to play with another attacking wing back in Aït-Nouri. Dorgu instantly has become a better player.

I would have to look at it again but I will say I understand why he went for goal considering he scored a game ago, and to be fair I'd rather him take the shot because he will be in similar positions a lot this season and it will be good for him to build some composure and to find his "spot" between the net.

It's like Nuno Mendes , he worked on his placement finishes and as we have witnessed he likes to smash it far bottom corner, these are the games we would want him to go for goal.

I don't know if the pass was on actually, it wasn't a bad decision to shoot. Especially as he went across goal anywhere so a deflection/save could've sent it towards Hojlund anyways

Also I think there was a push so he couldn't do much as his feet positioning changed

I didn't think the pass was on either. Rasmus was stuck in between Pickford and the CB, I think it would have been cleared before he got to it. Still good to see Rasmus getting pissed off over not getting a tap in and Dorgu getting into dangerous positions

Looks way better. Very direct and front footed. He knows his role in attack now and it shows.

Dorgu could have done either. Both options were valid and I guess it's how either go that depends if it turns out the right option. If he'd tried to square it to Hojlund and messed it up you could definitely say 'you've got to take the responsibility yourself in that position'. If you take on the shot and don't score, you can easily say 'he should have squared it for a tap in'.

I guess Hojlund's frustration is just the cumulative effect. Plenty of our wide men seem to shoot rather than look for the forward, and plenty of his runs are ignored rather than through balls played through to him. So I can see why he gets frustrated when he makes the run for a match winning tap in and a player takes on the shot and doesn't score. But it wasn't necessarily the wrong option just because it didn't come off this time. Although I think a player like Garnacho would have more criticism and fewer people backing him up for taking the selfish option at that moment than Dorgu has.

I think the one thing I'd love to see develop is his left footed cross on the run. His pace and stamina are great, and a long ball to the outside left channel could be incredibly effective for him to run on to, given that we have so many players in number 10 slots pulling defenders narrow. From there, all he needs is a consistent cross, and the opposition have to get dragged out to try and block it.

At the moment he tends to cut inside and move towards the penalty area, which wasn't a big deal last season given our personnel at the time, but this season will be different. With some big attackers now in the team, and Amad probably more likely to dribble into the box from the right, Dorgu might be the main source of crosses into the box.

Was discussing this in the Hojlund thread, so best bring it here but it definitely is a bad decision. I tried to not say this as hard as I can, but can't find an easier way to express it - it was a very low xG chance. Doing things in the hope of chaos is not a good way to coach a attacking patterns.

As a caveat, I was very much in Dorgus camp last season and believe he will be better this season - the timing of the run alone shows he will be a constant threat, he just needs to make better decisions. He's younger than Garnacho after all.

He's going to be getting a lot of scoring chances this season with the way he times his runs, so i think he needs to put extra effort into working on his shooting. It could be the difference between a win or a loss.

Pass was definitely on if he'd pass the ball first time. Instead he took a touch to advance the ball and took a low percentage shot. Hojlund was in prime position for the tap in.

Not an issue in a friendly game, but during the season i'd rather Dorgu look to improve his passing and crossing rather than shooting. He doesn't seem to be a very natural striker of the ball and now we have enough attackers who will make the runs into the box for Dorgu to find.

Horrific mistake at the end notwithstanding, thought he looked lively again.

Looked very tentative today. Maybe it's playing at OT or something but he didn't look ready to take on his man. Lots of backward passes and getting caught out on the counter and having to get bailed out by Bruno. Not his best game...but he's been good this preseason so we'll have to let him have one. Kinda average to be honest especially when you compare him to Amad who looked lively and at least tried to do something.

He's a good player. One of the few we have who is actually effective in this system.

Works for this system. My main criticism of him is when he’s in that position one on one on the left he often finds himself in, he needs to drive towards the touch line and cross it in much more than cutting back and stopping to pass

He’s look good. Add a good final ball and he’ll have a big impact.

Very good once again, aside from the brain fart pass in the second half. Looking like he'll be an excellent signing.

With Sesko up front now I'm sure he will.

I thought he lacked confidence and didnt offer enough going forward. Hes got all the attributes, speed, strength, power. But he doesnt beat his man and he doesnt shoot or cross so whats the point? Amad showed how to play wingback today and was much more positive in everything he did.

Has had a good preseason , You can see why they went for his profile , the squad badly needed some aggression ,athleticism, physical strength and work rate and he looking like he can provide some of that. But preseaon is one thing and just as with all the players , the real tests start from next week on ,

Man Utd 0:1 Arsenal
Ball is his biggest enemy. Our attacks die when he is on the ball (unless it is situation when he can make first time cross).

The lack of technical ability will always be exposed against the better team.

He's just poor. Ugarte and the keeper were worse but Dorgu needs to go as well

He is really good at his strengths (duels and ball carrying) but average at best at other things.
