I think we have.

His physicality is top notch. His duel stats are ridiculously good. He's good in the air for a fullback

There aren't really any defensive issues with him beyond just getting experience.

I think he'll look more comfortable as a winger or a fullback because either position you've got support in front or behind you.

It's the wingback role that's the real tester. Just an extremely difficult role to play well.
Yeah I always rated him defensively/physically and work-rate wise. Good to see him starting to put up some attacking numbers as well. Hopefully you’re right and with a bit more experience we have a real gem on our hands.

Maybe he can become the left-footed Valencia. That would be awesome.

If he misplaces a pass in the next game, he will be called out as the worst player ever though. Same goes for Sesko.

Why are people moving him to fullback when he's been one of our better attacking outlets in the last games?

If Shaw can't do the job as LB then I'd move Dalot there, play Mazraoui as RB (he's a better defender than Dalot and our right side is going to be more exposed regardless who plays RW). Just leave Dorgu on LW, he provides width, runs in behind the defense, crossing and tracks back. Who is better than him on the left in the current squad?

Cunha. Certainly if he has Dorgu behind him. I think a left side with Dorgu and Cunha has higher potential than Shaw and Dorgu.

I also think Dorgus physique would be good next to Lisandro Martinez. And lets not forget, he has played around 10 000 min of senior football. The majority of them as left back.

Once Mbeumo comes back I'm quite sure Dorgu would be benched or go to left back

Cunha doesn't make many runs in wide areas, he wants the ball to his feet. He also isn't fast. I don't think he's a good candidate. Would rather play Mbuemo there, and Dorgu on current form.

That is possible, does he often play LW though? I think he played once and was good, although a bit static, like a #10 playing slightly on the left. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but Dorgu runs give us another dimension.

He played on the right for us when we played this system in the last game. But in no world would I put Dorgu in a front 3 when we have Sesko, Cunha and Mbeumo all available. This is before we look at Amad and Mount too!

Dalot and Maz is a pretty defensive combination. We need one of them to get forward. Dorgu hopefully can be that guy on the left.

Essentially meaning we have 2 CBS and one of the FBs providing defensive cover but don’t say it too loud, the 3 at the back haters will start frothing.

Man Utd 1:2 Brighton
Did some really nice work today.

Can he play right back? Stick him there with Shaw on left until Maz comes back. Dalot is painful to watch.

He rn his ass off, things didn't always work out but at least he was trying. If that bicycle kick would have went it, the top would have erupted at OT

He'll be fine as a left back in a 4. Versatile player, plenty to work with. We need to build a steady back 4 that can stay fit and find consistency, rhythm and understanding

Hardworking and industrious left back. Really poor in final third though.

Yes, he runs around quite a bit and is defensively almost solid, but offensively offers next to nothing ... He does not so much dribble past opponents as just trying to work the ball through them. Another atrocious buy to suit a failing system.

Maz should be back for the derby unless we’re going to give them an extra break, which we shouldn’t given we’re only playing 40 games this season.

Edit. Before anyone else replies, I had a brain fart about Morocco. I know he’s still at Afcon.

That passage of play in the 94th minute where he made the wrong decision about three times over and wasted a good 50 seconds… man.

Frustrating with and without the ball. Needs to do much better on the 2nd goal, gave Gruda 10 yards to do whatever he likes with and he found his striker in a great position

Barring a truly miraculous transformation i think its clear to see what type of player he is. Even if he gets better as he develops he's not top fullback material. He was not a purchase the club needed to make, Malacia isn't much worse than him.

He won't be back. Unless you want him to miss games for his country.

Worked hard, lacks quality on the ball in the final third.
I think some of that boils down to our players tend to just run to a defender when he's on the ball in the final 3rd. Today Ugarte ran a stood behind a defender and he had no outlet passes so he kind of had to do too much. I agree that he's off in the final 3rd but also Shaw would run away.

He and Dalot on the other side have the same issues. Good workrate but a lack of quality both going forward and defending. This is exacerbated by us not having actual wingers (and genereally being a dysfunctional team). They're our only outlets out wide and it's a responsibility they simply can't live up to.

Thought he was decent, given he ran the whole left side on his own.

Some nice passes slipped in behind and he's the only member of the back 4 who doesn't let the opposition get an easy cross in.

Dorgu gets a lot of stick, but I like him. He's got something about him, works hard up and down, causes problems and has courage.

I think he'll come good and if he doesn't, he's still a strong and versatile squad player.

Bambi on ice. I'm genuinely not sure if he's just got a diving trait built in to him, or he has terrible balance.

Has very good work rate and puts crosses into the box which is a positive. Just needs to stay on his feet.

Athletic.

That's all I can give him really, doesn't seem to have a clue what he's doing.

Actually think he’s been decent the last 4-5 games - thought he was a lost cause before that.

Not saying he’s a world beater but at the very least he can be some use for the squad / moved on in a year or 2 for most of our money back

Ya I’m on the same level with him

Why do we keep on landing this sort of players though? Yes he can run, strong, sometimes defends great but lacks in every other department.

Him and dalot waffling with the ball then lose possession or kill off tempo makes me hate watching this team sometimes.

True but how many times have players rn away from getting a pass and have left him with no options? Im not saying he's great but we could do a lot worse and comparing him to Dalot is ridiculous.

Good today, the problems start when he stops and doesn’t know what to do with the ball. Just fire it into the defender son, we need those corners.
