What a bloody lad, visibly better this season in a lot of aspects. I think he'll continue to grow.
 
Take a bow Chinazaekpere. That was a prime example of a player doing all the basics and mental, physical aspects so well
 
Brilliant. I will confess I was worried about this, but the lads didn't let us down. Just shows don't write players off. Dorgu has been great going forward last few games and has some engine.
 
I’m in awe at him in the last two games, especially today. Totally different fella, even his decision making is better. How can a player we seemingly bought for Amorim’s daft tactics look so much better with him gone. Madness. I hope he can keep this momentum up.
 
His strength and determination alone makes him so valuable. Quite the turnaround from last season where I couldn’t see a breakthrough
 
Much like with Sesko, people were far too quick to write him off. Young player, new league, struggling team. It takes time. He’s a terrific athlete; remarkable engine on the kid. Will only improve (and there are many areas he definitely needs to improve on).
 
He’s been getting better and better this season, obviously playing further forward has brought more out of his game which is great to see.

Pace, power, determination and an eye for goal. Can’t ask for much more than that.

Didn't know he had that in him. He wasn't just up for it and trying hard (like he always does), he was winning his duels, getting the ball back, getting us up the pitch. Could barely put a foot wrong.

Bruno, Martinez, Maguire, Case were all fantastic as well, but Dorgu was MOTM for me.

He's been like that since pre-season. This is what I said in July:

He started pretty strongly (relatively speaking) but like with all our players, Amorim eventually wore/broke him down with his shit coaching as the season wore on.

Same very good today. Not sure he will ever be a consistent starter but the potential is certainly there to have a reliable option in a number of positions, which can be useful.
 
I think we’ve established now he probably isn’t a full back or wing back and makes sense now why Lecce were apparently deploying him as a winger.
Games like today suit him, the space to counter and his workrate helping out the fullback.

But I think he’d probably still struggle against compact sides.
 
I’m probably the most critical of him since he’s been here but he was massive today. Totally dominated O’Riley in that second half.

I don’t think he’s been that way from preseason straight through to the last few games; he had a strong dip in the middle, but he’s got such a defiant constitution, he just goes for it game after game until it comes together for him. If he develops that as a reputation, players won’t want the war with him.
 
I’ve shat on Dorgu all season but he’s improved massively since being put further forward. He can’t take on a man but he’s got a Denzel Dumfries vibe all over him. Intensity, off the ball runs, solid in duels.

What a fecking performance.

No we don't.

Dorgu can play LB.

Playing LB & LWB is different positions.

Dorgu can concentrate on attacking as a LM/RM

Or

he can concentrate on defending more when playing at LB/RB.

Asking him to do both at the same time was why Amorim wasn't getting the best out of him.

Dorgu doesn't make many defensive errors and is actually quite good in tight spaces.

We also have Leon & Amass who we need to test in preseason.
 
This is why football is dominated by athletes, and he's a great athlete. Shame he's not as good on the ball, but today he showed his strengths to the extent that we can forgive him a lose touch here and there. 9/10 performance.

Did we finally manage to replace LAV.
 
Not a defender. His two best performances have come from right and left wing. He scored in both games too.

You don't need to scroll back many pages to see posts calling him among the worst transfers ever, or that he doesn't have "basic technique". Ridiculous.
 
Much better on the wing than as a wing back.
Tenacious and energetic.
If he improves his crossing which was good today, he'd be more than useful!
 
Shouldn't be starting in the long term but a brilliant depth option to have for either wing. Didn't stop today and deserved his goal.

I have to admit I'm baffled by his improvement playing further forward.

Your last sentence is absolutely spot on and something that will be the test for him and alot of the other players we have in the team. We ceded almost 70% possession and playing in a compact low block and against settled defenses the onus will be on us to be more proactive rather than reactive and that is where Dorgu has to prove himself imo.

I've previously said the jury is out on him due to his age, and eventhough he did play well today in our underdog approach against a team who played in a higher line and dominated possession. The test like you quite rightly say will be against settled defenses.
 
Nice to see him get some respect. Never stops running and bursting forward. Great game from him.
 
I think long term he’ll be a LB, but in games like today against tough opponents like Semenyo & Doku his ability to play LW also makes us much more defensively solid.

If we played against Burnley next id expect him to be at LB.
