We have genuinely missed him massively. Hope he's one of those before time table healers and is back for Villa

We need him. Amazing that hes gone from one of the shakiest to best players this year. Hope he comes back with a vengeance!

I have been very critical of him this season due to his poor technique and passing etc. But we have missed him lately specially his intensity, physicality and off the ball running, providing options for us in attack and helping out defenders. All very crucial aspects that he provides.

Do you remember how well he was playing in pre-season?

He was our best player like every pre-season match playing like a proper attacker.

Suddenly we played the first game of the season and he had looked like he had reverted to his old form. Looking at it retrospectively makes me think that Dorgu was given freedom to play more attacking in preseason whilst Amorim made the team more restricted during the Premier League.

I think Dorgu's crazy pre-season form shows me that his recent good performances haven't been just a turn of luck - more a player playing with much less anxiety.

If im right I remember Amorim calling Dorgu 'anxious' aswell.

Just useless all-round. Lastly I considered him to be quick, but whenever he is in a foot race with any player he always comes second best. Forget the Bales or Walkers of this world. Can someone tell me what are his best attributes? We really did throw 30M down the drain.
Not sure critical is the right word ;)

Just goes to show that you don't write 20 year old players off after less than a season's worth of play time. He always had ability and a great mentality, just needs to work on combining it all together.

I think you would have to agree, he was pretty bad throughout the season and only when Carrick came and we moved him to LW, he played really well and got us crucial goals and his overall play improved.

I think the major difference is the balance and attributes he provides, its not like he became Neymar all of a sudden, but Cunha albeit the superior player, just keeps coming back inside and our width gets impacted, and make us easier to defend. He provides good width and first time crossing ability on left foot which is a great outlet. In addition, his energy to support Shaw is very valuable, because Shaw has looked hopeless without the winger supporting him.

Not true, he also played well on the right wing under Amorim against Newcastle, scoring the winning goal. There have been glimpses of what he brings since he joined, he’s jus been very inconsistent as you would expect from a young player coming into a new league, and playing for a team which was all over the place.

Our next game is in 24 days will he be back by then? And if he is, does he take Cunha’s spot?
Dorgu was immense on the left wing in Carrick’s system, but in the last two games Cunha has started to adapt to that role. Can Cunha play on the right wing instead?
Personally, I think the left wing should be Dorgu’s.
Anyway, do you think he’ll be back in time for the next game in just over 3 weeks?

Presumably he’ll be eased back in with sub appearances anyway as is typical after returning from injury. After that I suspect the question of who starts will come down to form and tactical considerations depending on the opponent.

I like Dorgu and can't wait for him to be back. Even under Ruben I thought he was decent but he was getting a lot of criticism. He only played 2 matches under Carrick, two games ago most were saying he's not good enough. Things can change quickly

Dorgu could play on the right hand side too if both Mbeumo and Amad are out of form.

Let’s just get him back fit and playing well again, I’m sure it’ll take a few games before he’s back to the couple of game form prior to injury.

We do need to start to rotate more now Mount and Dorgu are coming back.

I mean I defended him against the criticism but the volte face that has happened for Dorgu is unbelievable. 2 games and he's gone from the next Tyrell Malacia to the next Gareth Bale. :)

Does anyone remember how Dorgu showed so much attacking promise in pre-season? He was our best player during preseason.

First game in to the season and he turned back to being a reserved player because Amorim turned from a friendly game mindset to a defensive mindset.

His preseason makes me sure that the last bit of form wasn't just a bit of luck - his preseason form shows he has the potential to do this throughout a season.

Hopefully my boy comes back without the injury being detrimental.

I was a fan of his since he joined, whilst frustrating; you could see he was a pass and go player that was able to get past opposition even under Amorim but Amorim kept players stuck to non rotatable positions which effected Dorgu's and many of our players game.

Looking forward to him coming back.

Back training on grass now so shouldn’t be too long before he’s back in the mix

I'm still unsure about him. Love his physicality but he still seems rather limited to me. He got injured during a good run of form and I feel that has caused his stock to really soar.
