Still don't get the people who want him at LB, he shows every time he plays why he's better as an attacker.

Fantastic today. He really makes things happen. Love that he's always involved and full of intensity.

I really like him on the left hand side, teams have got so used to the cut back and look for the shot/interplay style that Dorgu just being very direct and physical is tough to handle.

Its a pity he got hurt. We could have gotten a better sample size of what he can do at lw. I think we get an lb and let him and Cunha battle it out for lw.

Reminds me of Nunez at Liverpool.

Agent of chaos. He’s a different type of player to anything else we have. Good squad player.
Not sure he’s a squad player if he keeps that up. He showed a lot today that made him look a lot more complete as a player.

Interesting preseason and September for him.

Relentless today. He needs to polish his game still, but his pace, physicality and aggression look like they will be a lot for defenders to deal with.

For all the criticism of his lack of polish and creativity compared to the best wingers in the world, he still just makes things happen. He really disrupts the opposition defence with his relentless pace and physicality providing such a good balance to the ball players like Mainoo, Bruno and Amad.

I think he looked awful till the goal and then became a constant threat till he was subbed off.

We hopefully will have 55+ games next season.

I don’t see him keeping Cunha out - but he will get lots of games if he’s fit.

He's relentless and such a pain in the arse for opposition sides. Since he's come back, he's made a difference. Will be a really good squad option next season. Fantastic header, too.

Such an interesting/unorthdox player...Denmark not qualifying for the World Cup and a full preseason should help him progress...but honestly I've no idea if he's a LB/LW/RW or something else yet. Definitely worth trying to develop for another season or two.

There's little to suggest he's a Left Back. Apart from people imagining he has the right attributes to play there. Which is fair.

There's a lot of evidence suggesting he is a winger. A proper attack minded and brave player as well.

Carrick's team playing better football when ever Dorgu plays. hope he will get better from now on

Looks like Dee Jay from Street Fighter

Powerhouse. Real force down the wing, even if he can be sometimes suspect technically

Dorgu isn't a dribbler, he is more a pass and go player.

Pass and go players can really open up defences more so than wingers who take on one man because a pass and go player can beat 3 opposition if he has players he can link up with around him.

This is why Bruno, Shaw & Dorgu have been connecting very well as we saw today and Arsenal & Man City.

Dorgu's technical ability is seen when he is highly accurate with his passing in tight spaces and he then also has the physical ability, aggresion and stamina to receive the ball in to the open spaces that are created.

Cunha has more ability to beat his man by himself and has the ability to be in the right place at the right time but I wouldn't say his passing ability is good as Dorgu's and has much more misplaced passes. That's not me preferring one over another but more highlighting their differences.

Either way, whether he is a winger I not - I feel like we got a gem here; someone that can play at LW, RW, LB, RB and maybe even one day at CB or CDM and put in some great performances for us.

Having a winger who can take a man on one to one is still on my wishlist but honestly I think Cunha has played much better as a LM/LW than I expected aswell.

Starts, gets a goal and assist

That's now 5 G/A (3 G, 2 A) in his last 4 starts but people wanted to bin him because he looked a bit rusty in 10-15 min appearances the last few matches coming back from a torn hamstring that had him out 2.5 months

Didn't see the game but excited by the praise on here.

What do we think his technical ceiling is (given he is still young)?

How much was he impacted by a seeming lack of confidence under Amorim? I ask as it was alarming to see him unable to get the better of his Grimsby opponent, sounds like he has come a long way from there.

He can develop into an absolute powerhouse of a LW, no chance he is an LB.

I would be putting an LB signing as a priority and letting compete with Cunha there.

Couple quiet posters here who have been slagging him off since he joined, "braindead footballer", "Lecce is his level", "decision making is something that's innate at this age", "Diouf is twice the player", "He is never going to make it", "quickness of thought not going to improve" and of course countless posts about his "shit" technique.

He alone is proof that technique is not the most crucial thing in PL, and you can easily get away with not having top technical ball ability. You need way more than that in the PL.

Credit to Carrick and his coaching staff for identifying and playing Dorgu in a role that suits the team perfectly. Never would I thought he’s a left winger and Cunha may find it difficult to start ahead of him next season just coming back from the world cup

Agreed with other he's such a chaos sometimes, but mostly delivers. Would still want him as a LB where his run would make more sense while at LW he can be a bit one dimensional. Would rather have someone like Ndaiye in front of him.

He’s such a powerful runner. Fair play to him. I’m skeptical about going forward with him as our other LW asides Cunha, yet he’s performed every time he’s started there. He plays so differently from a typical winger but as long as he delivers then who cares

He's a beast, made for the Prem. Still not sure I would trust him at LB just yet though, I prefer him further up.

Still don't get the people who want him at LB, he shows every time he plays why he's better as an attacker.

Because in theory they think he can do this from the LB position occasionally, while still providing the intensity, width and overlapping runs from a fullback. However, when he played as an LB, he didnt show this at all attacking wise.

So to me his best position is LW obviously. If he is causing chaos as an LW and not as an LB, there is no point in playing him as an LB, especially since he isnt great defensively as a LB either.

I think that's because he hadn't adapted to the league yet, and it was under Amorim. It should at least be explored under Carrick, and see how he does there.
