Yeah, it is actually. But my baseline assumption is that the game is just incredibly corrupt and it is almost impossible not to think that. I assume they will get a significant punishment, but it'll be delayed until after Guardiola has left and they are not winning all the time. I suspect the only consideration here is protecting the "brand" that is the Premier League, rather than the integrity of the game. It's been a completely commercial phenomena for decades, but that transformation has been exponential in recent years.

I loved the football we played back then. What cost him internationally, at least in his first two seasons, was his approach to away games in the knockout stages. He set us up far too passive and for some weird reasons I will never understand, basically always aimed for draws away from home.
Though, we also had a lot of bad luck with injuries during his time with us and in his last season, we were clearly and by far the best team in the competition. But we went out against Atlético, even though the return leg might have been the best Bayern game I have ever seen. How Atlético pulled that off, is a mystery to me. I think Simeone said afterwards, that we were the best team he had ever faced.
