Pep Guardiola | Leaving City: Official

That revolting spitting and his Mulligan & O’Hare pullover. feck off you denier.

Exactly. I will never think of him as one of the all time, top of the pyramid greats because of this. Maybe he takes on a harder project after City but that seems super doubtful.
Most likely he takes on PSG or whoever has the most money and best players in some random tinpot league.

Hopefully that's the last trophy the slimy little git ever wins with that cheating garbage club.

20 trophies in 10 years at City, not bad at all..

I wonder how many he'd have won if he hadn't have been given a virtually unlimited transfer budget to buy as many players as he wants and the ability to sign pretty much any player he wants

We will never know how Pep performs without far better tools at his disposal than the competition, because he refuses to take a job that doesn't offer this.

Read that and couldn't quite believe that was real. It's a staggering total for one team in English football.

But a good chunk of them were league and FA cups. The 6 league titles are obviously a great accomplishment, as were the trebles.

He looks jagged, though. Barely looked interested, today.

But the greatest manager of the past 15 year for me, without a doubt.

What annoys me is that he's done all that when the PL is at its weakest. Liverpool as rivals yet they only won 1 league title. I just can't buy that he's one of the best with the hilarious advantage he had his whole career.

I don’t remember the amount he spent this January but he 100% doesn’t win those trophies this season without that big January transfer boost. Another 200 million spent in the summer and I can see them being champions next year (if Arsenal don’t choke this year).

Doku and Cherki look very good signings in recent years and they can build on the signings they’ve made in January.

City haven’t just spent, they’ve spent well to be fair. They’ve also benefitted from some very shady accounting of that I have no doubt. But the depth in their squad is absurd. Even now, when I feel like their squad isn’t one of their best. They still have the likes of Foden, Marmoush, Nico, Reijnders, Dias, Ait Nouri, Gvardiol, Trafford and Savio sitting on the bench or in the treatment room. All players who would start or be absolutely key players for 90% of the PL.

They have because unlike our owners City's owners took the time to put a proper structure in place above the manager in order to ensure their money is spent on the right players for the right positions at the right time.

The difference is that they can discard away their flops.

They hired the best manager in the world. Let’s see how the structure holds up when they have someone like Maresca there.

Yeah that’s why I think if Pep stays another year they will be favourites for the league next year sadly. Their squad has a lot of quality. Hopefully they’ll mess up in Europe again and he buggers off after that.

They've spent well and badly. He's never had any consequences of a bad transfer though.

Not to mention they have no trouble attracting the players they want seeing as they can pay them double salaries under the table.

has he really been at city 10 years? I honestly find that kinda comical and pathetic. Really shows his colours

20th trophy for Pep in 10 years at City. Absolute insanity.

He better hope the authorities are as crooked as we all think they are and City gets no real punishment because his legacy will be tied with that rotten little oil club.

Speaking completely as neutral, when I think of Barcelona I think of the MSN era, not Pep’s. Heynckes Bayern played some of the best football I’ve seen and won more than Pep’s Bayern. When I think of City, I think of Guardiola.,

I think there’s two parts to this story. Did they cheat to be able to afford players that they bought? Absolutely. Did they, over the course of those ten years outspend teams like Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea, both in terms of transfersums and wages? I don’t think they did, although I didn’t check the facts. So in the latter sense, their achievements are impressie. In the former sense, they are still cheats ofcourse

They did. 3.23bn in wages and player amortization from FY2019/20 to FY2024/25. Plus another big chunk for this season that we'll see when their next accounts are out.

Chelsea next on 3.1bn, Utd 2.95bn, Liverpool 2.85bn and Arsenal 2.44bn.
