Pep Guardiola | Leaving City: Official

Surely they must be fuming with the news leaking out. Such an underwhelming send-off.

"in the last ten years he has not only made Manchester City better - he has also made football better"

Where the vomit emoji at

A career full of cheating. What a guy.

Say what you want about his lego version... at least he doesnt have 115 charges against his club

Unlike this bald oasis fan

"Don’t ask me the reasons I’m leaving. There is no reason, but deep inside, I know it’s my time."

Suuuuuuure;)

He should talk about Oasis more in his leaving comments, not mentioned enough.

They had to get the trophies out because thats the only way people will remember what he "won" there

Otherwise people are gonna have a hard time remembering what he won. I mean he won something, I dont even remember that much honestly

I only remember they added a star or something to their logo because they won CL. Thats about it

I'm sure this means the punishments for the charges are finally landing. Hes clearly not been right mentally for a while, the only thing keeping him there was the fear that handing over the golden purse to the next guy would highlight that he's not over achieved at all.

Does this sound suspicious to anyone else?

Manchester City

Manchester City confirmed in their statement announcing Pep Guardiola's departure, external as manager that he would maintain a role with the ownership group as a global ambassador:

"Despite his departure as Manager of Manchester City, Pep will continue his relationship with the City Football Group, by taking up a role as a Global Ambassador.

"The role will see him giving technical advice to the clubs in the group, working on specific projects and collaborations.

‘Yes I remember my first interview with *checks notes* Noel Gallagher. I always wanted to meet him!’

I can’t wait for Sky to release all the fawning documentaries about him and his tenure at City, and I see he’s still getting in on the unlimited dirham train.

The funniest thing about City is they're so plastic and devoid of actual history they all wind up talking about Oasis all the time.

Imagine if Klopps leaving statement he kept banging on about the Beatles.

Are City preparing for Luis Enrique when his contract runs out?

Who knows what happens? Luis Enrique has assembled a squad at PSG capable of dominating not only the next few years, but the next decade. And it's not like France will be running out of top talent any time soon. He's got everything he needs there.

As for Pep, i believe that one of the reasons he quit Barça to take on the City project is that, deep down, he knew that No2 would be as best as it gets for him in the Catalans' history. He wanted that recognition and, results-wise, he got there. Whether the trophy count will be all that matters twenty years down the line, it remains to be seen.

Other than that, this appears to have been the most likely outcome for quite some time. The Maresca rumours began before the latter was even fired at Chelsea.

Feel sorry for the poor sod replacing him. Not only does he have shoes that are impossible to fill, he will also have to deal with the fallout from 115.
