Why would he take the Italy job? Would be interesting to see what he actually does with a national team as he can’t spend billions. I think only Spain are ready made to match his style of play
You’re bang right.
One of the funniest posters on here.
There’s no one I’d rather batter Scousers with.
That's why i think it would have to be Spain because a huge part of his philosophy is already installed in those player's brains. Maybe Portugal at a push but don't really see him being interested.I genuinely don't think Pep is suited to international football.
You just don't get the time to do the heavy coaching he usually needs with his teams. International football is more about do the best with what you got and motivate them as much as possible.
I feel like some of those quotes aren't genuine. Brophs one reads like someone sober typed it, for example. Can't imagine that he would take the Italy job. There is absolutely nothing to work with there at all.

How many English/Italian players has he signed over the last decade at City? I'd take that as an outright indicator of the appetite he could have for either role. I.e. none.
It just hit me he gave them an entire fecking decade![]()
I think no chance is a dangerous statementThere's no chance he's taking the Italy job, he won't want to risk his reputation as one of the all time greats with an average national team.
My guess is that this has come out as news to gauge whether Spain would be interested in him if de la Fuente has felt he's done all he can in the role.

Not gonna lie I wouldn't want to face him managing another country because fear his coaching abilityI think Morocco could work with his philosophy and Portugal without Ronaldo.
Ole had his number numerous of times. He’s not invincible. Not gonna lie I wouldn't want to face him managing another country because fear his coaching ability
Still wouldn't fancy facing Italy in Euros KO tieOle had his number numerous of times. He’s not invincible.
I didn't say not signing any but genuinely asking how regular/prevalent and their characteristics. There's Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling, John Stones, Grealish, Kalvin Phillips from memory. He Brought Foden through.
Half the England team was City at one point and I've suggested Pep for England years ago, would've been a great fit, not sure what you mean in your post about not signing any English players.
I wouldn’t fancy facing any decent team with tuchel in charge with his negative tactics against the better countriesStill wouldn't fancy facing Italy in Euros KO tie
I think quite a few English players? Walker, Stones, Grealish, tried for Kane and Maguire. Brought through Foden. Guehi etc.How many English/Italian players has he signed over the last decade at City? I'd take that as an outright indicator of the appetite he could have for either role. I.e. none.

His record vs Pep was W4 D1 L4.Ole had his number numerous of times. He’s not invincible.
Yeah for them but not the rest of Europe and worldIt's what I figured they want. He would have to oversee their whole structure. Exciting times if it happens
w4 d1 w4 vs Pep is quite impressive to be fair. His record vs Pep was W4 D1 L4.
One of Ole's wins was in the 2nd Leg of a LCSF when United still lost on aggregate.
One of the few annoyances City fans had about Pep was that he didn't seem to prioritise Derby matches in the same way we did.
Yeah that's why missing out on this final really stingsI wouldn’t fancy facing any decent team with tuchel in charge with his negative tactics against the better countries
Aye, 8 wins and a draw in 9 games is fantasticw4 d1 w4 vs Pep is quite impressive to be fair.
He managed a team in England so it was to be expected. Not exactly key players he built his sides around though. Stones probably the most Pep player there.I think quite a few English players? Walker, Stones, Grealish, tried for Kane and Maguire. Brought through Foden. Guehi etc.

Relevant player in his system, sure. So, who would be England's current Kyle Walker?Kyle Walker wasn’t a key player?
No idea. Just seems a weird angle to suggest he wouldn’t work with England because he hasn’t signed English players in the past decade. He’s signed plenty of English players so I don’t really get the point. Pep has proven to be extremely adaptable in his approach during his time in English football. Just look at his last team vs some of his earlier ones. He’s not restricted to any one type of player at all.Relevant player in his system, sure. So, who would be England's current Kyle Walker?
Me too. It would be very interesting imo. According to people who worked for barca in balagues book, the barca b job was supposed to be extremely difficult at that time, but pep succeeded. Perhaps they were just bigging up pep.Very curious to see how he would cope in an environment where he doesn't have unlimited finance and/or one of the best players of all time available to him.
I think he is too Pro-Cataloninan Independence to be Spain manager. That said he is also a massive hypocrite so can't completely rule it out. That's why i think it would have to be Spain because a huge part of his philosophy is already installed in those player's brains. Maybe Portugal at a push but don't really see him being interested.
Im almost certain he would work with England if they approached him - and gave him free reign.Hes very conscious of where he works. So far hes always been at places where he has the resources to win and being able to mold things into his way. Therefore if hes gonna manage NT its Spain he would go after in my opinion because Spanish players fit him like gloves on top of it being his own country. I dont think Italian football fits Pep and you cant just pick and sign players... its a rather fixed squad. He can change things for the long term and build things ground up but why bother? Spain would love to have him he only needs to say the words
I agree he has been more adaptable at City, that's probably the hack that kept him interested in the job for ten years. No idea. Scenes when he fails to qualify with the likes of Scammaca and Moise Kean up frontItaly taking the next qualification seriously it seems![]()
Not sure if famously Pro-Catalonia Pep Guardiola would be interested in managing Spain really.Hes very conscious of where he works. Will be disappointed he's not representing us in thatGuardiola, Klopp,Tuchel battles at international level with international football restrictions will be grand.
Much more interesting than whatever’s been happening at club level football for awhile imo.
Its like, some pointless, insignificant state owned small club from the north of France won 2 CL titles in a row, did anyone actually care? Did people actually watch their games?
That Barca team that walked La Liga, will anyone remember them in 5-10 years, the kids are alright though.
That Arsenal team that won the PL is a generational insult to the sport.
Bayern in the bundesliga? No one outside of Germany cared or watched any of it.
I don’t even know who won the Serie A last season.
Club football feels utterly stale at this day and age, to me.
