"The sofas are too cozy, I dont like it, I prefer to sit on a concrete slab"

Hes desperately trying to soften his reputation as a cheque book manager. Which he is

Won square root of feck all this season, squads needs a rebuild, the charges are coming.

He was always gonna find some bullshit excuse.

He'll never be considered that goat because he requires too much for his success.

So he's complaing that his squad is too big?

What next? Will he start complaining that he's won too many trophies and made too much money?

Such a melodramatic little crybaby.

Has one season without everything going perfectly in his favour, which ends with no trophies for the first time in nearly a decade, and he's going off like this.

Shame on anyone who ever called him better than Fergie.

Seems like there's tension between him and Hugo Viana?

Perhaps he is starting to become a dinosaur in the modern era of football.

You need strength in depth if you want to compete in multiple competitions.

Would help if they didn’t sign about 5 players no one has ever heard of in January just because they had a bad run of form.

One season where the world isn’t blowing smoke up his hole and he can’t cope with it. For someone so successful, he really is an odd, fragile little man.

Nah just inhalers

Bald baby, sulking cos teams have got wise to him finally.

Why can't Romano be a proper journalist and explain that Pep means "stands" when he says "tribune" ?

All I need is 20 world class players, do NOT give me 25!!!!

That's pretty normal I'd say, though not sure what provoked it. Pep has always worked with a small squad, and I've always said it leads to a better and more focused group. Too big of squads and you have morale drops, unhappy players, unfocused training sessions, etc. Just never works.

You need 2 players per position, and of that group of 20 (outside 2 goalies), you'll have probably 5 who start every game they're fit for, 5 who are bit part players who get limited minutes, and then 10 who are regular starters or regular subs who compete for spots. So that's a core group of 15 and 5 deeper players roughly. And then some academy players to fill out the group who any minutes is a bonus. Never realistic to have 20 truly top players.

Is he a journalist? Seems like a full time twitter creature/influencer/memer these days, with the occasional “here we go” on a transfer story everyone knows about already, 5 minutes before the official announcement by a club.

I assume he means he wants no more than 24 players in the squad, maybe not counting a third goalkeeper. Right now they've got 26 contracted for next year, not including guys on loan who definitely aren't coming back like Phillips and Perrone.

If they want to sign a few more this summer, that means at least 4-5 going from the current squad. Not sure who that will be, there are a lot of players they'd probably like to move on but might not be able to shift. McAtee seems the most likely.

Romano’s English isn’t great either. He is constantly writing things and translating things literally.

Talking about clubs “insisting” etc…
