Pep Guardiola Threatens to quit Man City

Tbf, he has looked like he has been losing the plot for the last year and a half. This is just a funny icing on the cake

Ask him what team has spent the most when you factor in wages. Or about net spend plus wages since his first year at City.

He's never had to deal with not being at the very top of the football world as a manager and he seems incapable of handling it. This is why I think he might just go into national team management next. I can't see Pep doing a Mourinho or Ancelotti and managing sides that are not favorites to win the big trophies.

Can't wait for City to revert to what Newcastle currently are when this guy fecks off. Their downfall is going to be glorious.

The absolute cheek of Pep to moan about spending when in his career he’s had more backing than any other manager by a galaxy. Imagine the state on him if he was at a club without the best players and resources.

PL managers crying over how many millions each of them has been given to spend.

It's a joke...try managing a side in the bottom of the table in Spain or Italy before getting the violins out.

Pep really sounds like a fool here.

Is it true City are 7th in net spend recently or is it just cherry picking in some way?

Looked at transfermarkt, which is usually fairly reliable.

In the PL they have the highest net spend of all time, second highest spenders of all time behind Chelsea.

Last 5 years - they are 5th highest net spend and second highest spenders overall behind Chelsea.

He's a moany git.

Not to mention the fact that some of their transfers are probably dodgy and they've hidden the true costs involved

The fact you guys can’t pickup on sarcasm is concerning

Ask him what they really paid for Haaland when you factor in wages, agents fees, secret fees, dad fee etc…

Two of the top performers in the league signed this month alone to bolster his squad. One of them a CB on 300 grand a week!

He is a massive cnut, he really is. An absolute stain on the game. I don’t care how good he was tactically.

Wasn’t he complaining last year that the club were buying too many players?

We can all keep our net spend down when we have spent the sort of money of players that City have down the years.

Plenty of assests to sell, mostly paid for with money we are currently charged with not being allowed to spend.

Bald fraud knows he can’t do shit without outspending everyone

Net spend is such a cop out statistic.

As if them selling Palmer for a few quid completely negates the hundreds of millions they've splurged in transfer spend or the fact that their wage bill is the highest in the league by a country fecking mile. It's not even close.

No chance. They had won 2 of the 5 titles before he joined and this was while they were transitioning from being a no-mark club.

For as long as they have the owners that they have, they will be at the top.

Easy to keep net spend down when you hoover up the youth network with back handers and houses for parents, then sell them off for “profit”.

Does he really expect us to believe his dodgy club are 7th in net spend?

Also, he said fachts a couple of times. He's gone full Benitez.

Could be. They always have dodgy outgoings. Random nobodies from their academy go on loans and everyone is paying a loan amount. Southampton buying City players who had hardly played, for 10M and upwards. Their outgoings somehow will match their incomings

Aye, but sure that's unfounded conspiracy theory stuff.

They will drop off, it's inevitable, every team that has one coach for so long will drop off when they leave. They'll be top 4 contenders, but won't be running away with league titles.

He won’t resign or be sacked …he’ll see out his contract.

Someone should have asked him about the net spend table when only taking into account non self sponsorship.

You mean a journolist actually asking Pep a challenging question about City, their spending, and their charges?

Don't be silly now.

*never played.

I heard a stat that they’d brought in something like £250m from academy players that had never made appearance under Pep. I’m incredibly skeptical about some of those deals. Have any of the buying clubs had money funnelled into them to inflate the fees paid for PSR/FFP purposes?

However, I would say seek out the full quotes from him, not the link posted here. He’s obviously got his tongue in his cheek rather than making a serious point.

He's went full Arsenal fan under Wenger when having to bring up the Net Spend table.

That's usually a sign your struggling to compete where you once where.

I suppose as well that they might be being more careful with their net spend after the charges. They don't need to spend as much anymore to have a top squad so perhaps they aren't risking it as much as they used to.
