Pep Guardiola Threatens to quit Man City

Wanting City to win over Arsenal is fecking bizarre.

Arsenal, despite their shite football and manager, still at least are a proper football club who haven’t fecking cheated to obtain their success. It’s also boring seeing City win yet again.

Football rivalry and tribalism is bizarre and irrational by its very nature. It very often doesn’t make logical sense, and in some ways that’s the beauty of it.

Add in all the cheating and you realise their titles are utterly hollow and meaningless. If they win it's basically like nobody does.

That's the difference between them simply being a lottery win club and what they actually are.

Arsenal fans are insufferable and it's great watching them consistently bottle it, does anyone actually give a shit about City fans (all ten of them)?
When Aguero scored that goal it didn't feel meaningless then and it doesn’t now

When City beat us in the FA Cup Final, it didn't feel meaningless then and it doesn't now.

The city fan base has grown and will continue to grow if they continue to be successful while we yoyo in and out of champions league football and stay irrelevant in the title picture as we have been for 13 years.

As I said above, their success is very real.
But how real will it be once they're found guilty of the charges? In the space year 2035, if we're lucky?

There's also another half decade of further dodginess to be investigated after that as well, isn't there?

I want City to win as well cause I don't care a single second about how many they win, it's a meaningless club.

On the other side, Arsenal have the worst fans in the country by a mile and they deserve their club to stay in obscurity for another 10-15 years.

Most of us grew up with Arsenal being the main rival, so feck them with a big rubber dick.

Woah woah woah. I agree on your first point, but c’mon. No one will ever knock the self righteous brothers and their This Means More, YAWN bollocks off that particular perch.

Yes it’s properly bizarre.

You not watched them this season?

Yeah, try telling a local Manchester fan that City's success means nothing

I live 14 miles from OT and am in the City Centre all the time and would rather City won it than Liverpool or Arsenal.

Most City fans Ive met are either dyed in the wool fans that have been going since the Maine Road days and are pretty sound, people that only follow them because of recent success and dont really watch much football or ever talk about it, or young children that wear the shirt with their own names on the back.

Theres a massive City megastore in the Arndale and its always absolutely dead in there when I walk past, even on a Saturday afternoon - that tells you everything you need to know really.

If Liverpool or Arsenal won it I’d never hear the end of it - at work, in the pub, and their fans would be disgusting about it. If City won it would barely be mentioned anywhere except social media, and even then as we saw after the treble it would die down almost immediately.

I like boots on the ground intel. I'll follow your lead mate in the title chase. Also, Arteta raising the trophy would literally make me vomit.

Exactly this. Most those kids with the shirts also have Real, PSG and Barca ones. They often just love Haaland because they play as him on FIFA.

Fandom in kids is quite different these days.

It's a fair point but there's two things for me.

First, I'm not optimistic about them being found guilty. I think they'll, at most, get a slap on the wrist and keep their titles.

Second being, even if they are found guilty, City fans won't care. They'll always have those memories of title wins, thrashing us 6-1, 6-3, etc, so that'll never go away. I get that's not a problem for people who don't encounter City fans but, for me, and I think a lot of Manchester based fans who know City supporters, we'll always have to put up with them things being brought up.

He's refusing to learn, his stubborness will be the end of him. You can't go to any version of Madrid and play like this and not expect to get destroyed.

As much as I would love Arsenal to choke, seeing things not going the way of St Pep makes me very very happy. I don't want him to win another title.

Guehi and Semenyo in January on top of the massive spend last year wasn’t enough?

The tie isn't over and I still think he is the best manager i have seen but here goes...

Fraudulent , shiny, chromedome cueball of a manager. Am I right?

Don't forget never won anywhere where he didn't inherit the best squad or the richest club. Or both.

Come on Real, stop dilly dallying, score more, don't be daft, so when you go on a picnic to Manchester you can visit OT and have fun, like your fans few years ago.

Reminds me of the Champions League final vs Chelsea where he selected a bunch of attackers + Rodri.

That game was hilarious tbf, I think that's when he decided to go a for a big lump up top, Chelsea forced them to resort to lumping crosses and long throws on top of Jesus and Aguero. Who were up against Rudiger & Thiago Silva.

Kante breezing past City's non-existent midfield. I've just googled their lineup from that night and I was being too kind to Pep. He started a bunch of attackers + Gundogan. Rodri and Fernandinho were benched

Usual Pep trying to be too smart for his own good and getting beat.

You forgot the coke habit and self harming

PED user as a player, manager of Barca while the club was paying off refs, manager of City while in breach of 100 plus rules.

That was embarrassing from him. He started with too many attackers and doesn’t have the balls to drop Haaland.

Letting Julian Alvarez go looks like an awful decision in hindsight.

Their recent signings have made little sense.

I'd be shocked if he's still city manager next season.

Looks checked out.

He's spent an absolute fortune in the last 18 months to try and refresh the squad and outside of one or two signings it hasn't worked. Don't think he has the energy or patience to sort it out.

This is his first team that he hasn't had a creative hub in his team. All of his attackers look to shoot/score first rather than anyone there to create for their team mate.

Cherki?

You guys are being harsh. We need to realign the months so it's January again and he can spend another £200m.

We lost that final because he dropped Rodri so he could play Sterling.
Yep, see my subsequent post where I corrected myself after I googled the lineup. That was even more nuts than today's lineup. I thought Pep underestimated Madrid tonight, as I don't see the logic in Rodri and Bernardo Silva in the double pivot at the Bernabau.
