If this is the case and not just Auba deliberately missing his flight to stay a day more or something then watch out for pigs flying because I actually agree with Piers on something

He was granted permission to go but was asked to come back the day before training. He didn't respect this request and instead flew the day of training. This won't be the first time with PEA

And yet he’d easily get in arsenals side
Yeah right
Sigh. Bit rich talking about Maguire when Arsenal paid £75m for Pepe. See how we can all do that?
At least we can take some weird solace in the fact that there is a massive smell of corruption and money theft in that deal. You willingly paid that amount and got bent over a barrel to pay most of it in one go. :wenger:

Rumors always fly around in this cases but this seems pretty straightforward to me: he's on massive wages he's clearly no longer worth, arsenal want rid, and this gave them an excuse go try and force him out

The funny thing is the club acknowledge they gave him permission to pick his sick mum.
This is why I never subscribe to the loyalty talk. Its a shit way of trying to get rid of a player.

At least we’re sensible to know that which is why Pepe never starts
However, you persist with the donkey

Maguire is a whole different level to Pepe

If Pepe is on your subs bench then Maguire has every right to be starting on ours.

They need to work it out. Or he's just going to be outside collecting play checks. No one is going to buy him.

Better late than never…and how many of those appearances were off the bench?
Does it matter? That won’t help you get your money back. 59 at a quick count. It was fairly obvious after one.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Really hope he recovers and gets back to playing football.

Seeing fit athletes having their careers affected by this awful virus and / or possible effects from vaccines is beyond depressing.

Oh to go back to the World we had before this all happened.

Wasn't the same once he signed da ting.

Arteta will surely be sacked if they don't finish in the top four (they won't, mind and will probably hand him an extension. )

His performances? He’s finished. Arsenal are much better without him lately.
He’s no winger, that’s for sure. Absolutely no reason he can’t score a load of goals in a team set up to get the best out of him. Is he really all that much worse than, say, Cavani? He’s two years younger than him and has had a spectacular scoring rate in the Bundesliga and in the PL. Doesn’t seem to get injured much either.

£350k?! fecking hell, I thought he was on £250k.
250k + bonuses (appearances, goals etc) gets him to 350k but he hasn't been able to hit those for a while. Anyway what a sad end to his Arsenal career...
A year in Barcelona and then he will probably be off to Qatar or Saudi Arabia to make up some of these lost wages.

Arteta is a poor manager who can’t deal with big personalities.
Aubameyang has been off the boil for a while and his disciplinary issues pre dates Arteta and even Arsenal.

Also Artetas managing of Aubameyang has been good. No nonsense approach to the repeated offence and he dropped him like a sack of potato's. Most capable managers would do the same

He will get good service from Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie, Nico, Ferran, Busquets etc.

He (Aubemayang) is not that good to have a big personality that needs coddling.

No way his diva behavior would be tolerated by Pep or Klopp.
He might not have behaved like that under Pep or Klopp either...

Alabama but always Wales in my heart
According to reports they are still paying part of his salary until the summer, not clear what percentage but with Barca's issues it could be a pretty sum. The deal turns into a full free transfer/new contract situation in the summer with Auba taking lessing to play for Barca.

He's been terrible since he signed that contract and isn't a good professional. He's finished. Arsenal did the right thing.

Are they? Just 1 goal this year. No win this year. Auba started or featured in a grand total of zero games.
Haven't they only scored 1 goal so far this year?
This is not a good sample. "This year" they've played Liverpool twice, City once and a rotated side against Forest in the FA Cup. Overall, they've picked up form in the league since they dropped Aubameyang.

Need to get the leeches out of the team. First Özil, then Auba. Good no nonsense move by Arteta.
