PL Matchday 4 | 13/9/25 - 14/9/25

I thought he did well defensively vs Bernardo first half honestly. Not great on the ball though.
They signed the guy to play wingback for Amorim and he's completely fecking useless in attack

I think I would deal with current Bernardo defensively at the moment and it has been a summer with a lot of calories in

We've completely stopped playing here United should have 1 back.

Fair. I read somewhere that he's off to Benfica in January which is weird cause he's captain so more likely end of the season.

Agree, he gives we Wan Bissaka vibes.
Wan Bissaka was a grear defender at least, and he could dribble a bit. Good player they desperately got rid of(to replace with a worse player in Mazraoui btw)

Yeah anyways, United really deserve a goal here now. 3-1 would be a bit more fair

Given we missed two sitters from inside their box 1v1, I'll say 5-1 and we've not even been good.

Very happy with the derby win, but still no idea where we stand. I though were decent in spells against both Spurs and Brighton but got punished as soon as they started playing with any kind of urgency.

Wolves and United we never really had to get out of second gear because both those lacks the quality to hurt us but I think we had larger spells of control in the other two games

I think we're a decent but very mentally weak side. If United had managed a goal today before 3-0 we'd have caved. I think Arsenal will beat us handy next week, like a comfy 2-0 or something.

You'll find out against Arsenal.

Might be that I'm being harsh but football in the EPL isn't that great compared to the money involved. Trying to watch a few games this weekend and its been dreary stuff.

You're not. The technical level is appalling.

Maybe, I'd also kind of hope that we are a Rejnders clicking, Doku consistently creating chances and a Bobb in for Bernardo from being a very good team again. I really like the back 4 today on paper and I think if the midield can start controlling games again we will find a lot of confidence in that.

Dunno about your overall point but it's been a dreadful weekend of football

Guardiola playing 5-4-1 at the final moments of the match when leading 3-0 is everything you need to know about the current state of Man City..still too fragile and ready to go into meltdown no matter how good they are playing..I think we can see at least otherwise that the changes in the playstyle are indeed happening with City very dangerous on the counter attack..

Everyone was like "Pep is destroying the PL with his short technical players, boring." It kinda swung hard the other way and now we've got a ton of athletes who can't control a ball. Turning into a league of Kyle Walkers.

Wan Bissaka was an awful defender. Half decent 1 vs 1 but went to ground too often, positionally woeful and continually got done at the back post.

Aren’t we at the stage where it’s really obvious that Amorim doesn’t get the league? His win record is so awful to the extent that the 8 wins are more about a statistical likelihood than anything to do with his management. 31 points in 31 games.

If Liverpool lost their last 17 Premier League games they’d still be above Amorim’s United. This isn’t just transitional or a poorly built squad, it’s a manager who cannot beat PL teams with any sense of a plan or strategy. I don’t think there’s a worse manager in the league right now.

What's even worse is how lost he looks honestly. When his Sporting team slaughtered us in the CL, his demeanour before the game was quietly confident. He was more animated on the line. He looks like he has imposter syndrome or something at United. Talking himself down, talking the team down etc.. I don't think he's a bad manager but this job was too much for him too soon.

I guess his European record is decent so there’s a football home for him somewhere but I don’t think his currency is running high in England any longer.

Agree. I think he'll need to take a step down so either a top club outside the top 5 leagues again, or a decent but not huge one in the top 5 leagues and overachieve to get another shot at a genuine top club in the future. Unless he gets some Vincent Kompany style luck and manages to fall in reverse.

I remember loads of our supporters creaming themselves because they thought we were in for him as our manager. Praise The Lord our computer nerds could see The Emporer had no clothes!

I'll be honest, I was kinda hopeful he'd come as Pep's replacement at City too once we announced Viana. When Pep was ready to leave of course.

I am half worried if he gets fired at United he will be Viana's first choise as Pep replacement anyway because of their relationship.

Who knows, maybe they are like a Clough/Taylor double act and it would actually work

Wan Bissaka better than Mazraoui is an absolutely wild take.
