PL Matchday 4 | 13/9/25 - 14/9/25

It's miles too early to judge any player but Zubimendi seems a very plain midfielder to me. The way I heard some Arsenal fans speak it sounded like they were getting the next great Spanish midfielder.

Let's see if he starts to show anything.

I blame you for this

Not able to watch, but very interested in how Anderson is gettting on. Can anyone comment?

Doing ok, it's a turgid game so he's not seen a lot of the ball but when he does he's generally been calm on the ball, just played a nice ball in that led to a good chance for Gibbs White. He's probably made a few decent interceptions as well.

This Arsenal team reminds me of George Graham Arsenal. Laboured defensive not very entertaining football.
Or any Arsenal team before that and before the bestest team in history under Wenger, who “dominated” alongside United but only won 2 titles

Forest haven't had much of the ball - no one really has much of the ball on the pitch when Arsenal are also playing - so it's been difficult to judge. He's looked very tidy on the ball whenever he's had it, very composed. He has tried some ambitious through balls, not all of which have worked out. What seems most remarkable to me personally is his shape when he receives the ball, he seems to have great agility, close control, and spatial awareness which allows him to turn away from the press and find space to run into or a pass. He's mostly been working off the the ball - looks like a solid ball-winning midfielder because he's been chasing people down and had made a couple of strong tackles and interceptions.

Madueke has looked like the best player on the pitch so far. Beating his man and getting to the byline, and taking the corners (one of which eventually led to the goal) for Arsenal in the absence of Rice.

Every game with these teams is played in slow motion.

Arsenal are so fecking dull.

Didn't think it was possible for a half of football to be potentially worse than the Liverpool game, but this one runs it close. But it's hardly a surprise from a team that is incredibly boring even when they score 5 like they did against Leeds.

He won 3 league titles in 7 years for them and then they went broke due to paying off a new stadium. I don’t think anyone these days would put him near Fergie but no need to undersell what he actually achieved there.

This is not even close to being competitive. Time to look at newest peacemaker episode

This is extremely dull

As always, they showed glimpses of good play - Nwaneri in particular has been linking up play well since he came on, and each time the wingers are taking on their full backs, they seem to be creating something. They are capable of good football - they're just more interested in corners and throws. Percentage football - clearly effective given their lead, but incredibly dull to watch.

Not watching another Arsenal game this season. Get more entertainment from clipping my toenails.

Arsenal was totally the wrong team for Gyokeres.

Arsenal have reverted to type already it seems. Set piece FC looks back. Zubimendi volley merchant when desperate goal needed, looks another box ticked. Merino false 9 goal scoring machine wildcard hand not yet played. Times running out for him..

Gyokeres is very difficult player to fit in though. I don’t think many top half teams have a team that can slot him in nicely without change.

He never scored a goal from outside the box for Sociedad. Quite the 'volley merchant'.

TBH forest looked lost. They are struck between nuno s and ange s ball.

90% of it is played at walking pace, then there's a brief injection of pace, until they get a set piece then they slow it right down again for another 10 mins.

It's dreadful crap.
