Players you had forgotten existed

Nicolas Pepe. Arsenal bought him for a huge sum, he didn't quite deliver, and I swear the guy has disappeared from the planet.

Thomas Lemar

What happened to him? I remember him being massively rated at Monaco, and some crazy bids going in for him.

Just seen he's still at Atletico but hardly played in the last 2 years.

Muzzy Izzet. Mate mentioned him the other day and realised that was probably the first time I’d thought about him in circa 20 years

I wonder too. He randomly came to mind recently when I was thinking about the French team. Completely vanished off my radar after that Atletico move.

I was trying to get to sleep last night and my brain randomly reminded me of Khalid Boulahrouz.

Illaramendi
Zuniga, Napoli fullback
Perea, Atletico fullback
Kondogbia
Muniain
Lanzini
Ricky Alvarez
Pazzini
Leigh Griffits
Efe Ambrose

I saw Efe Ambrose turn out for Queen Of The South against Annan a couple of seasons ago. Last year he was playing for Workington Reds alongside former Annan captain & local plumber Steven Swinglehurst.

Seamus Coleman. He's signed a new one-year contract with Everton.

Thought he retired 2 or 3 years ago.

He is on Dutch tv quite a bit u fortunately (god knows why) so unfortunately we are reminded of him wat more often than most of us would care te be..

Thought he retired at the end of the season. What a player he's been for Everton, one hell of a find.

Think he's longest serving player for a club in PL currently. Ever since 2009 or something like that.

I certainly couldn't think of anyone who would beat him but looked it up anyway to confirm. Lewis Dunk is the only one that's within a year of him.

Great buy, just £60,000. In my head it felt like Young had playing there for a good while now with Nathan Patterson starting when he isn't eternally injured.

I saw that Wigan/Fulham's Hugo Rodallega scored the winning goal for the Colombian football championship yesterday.

I don’t think he’s expected to make much of a contribution, it’s more linked to the new stadium so that he can be part of that.

If that’s the case, it’s a nice move by Everton and shows football is (not quite yet) just about money.

Had forgotten about Filipe Luis until I saw him coaching Flamengo this CWC. His team seems pretty well coached, I think he might move back to Europe soon.

Wigan used to find themselves some decent south American talent. Rodallega, caicedo, Antonio Valencia, figueroa and palacios.

Belion, and Obertan Fergies answer to Ronaldo when the parasites wouldnt spend. What happened to them.

Bellion went on to win the french league with Bordeaux. Obertan ended his career in the third division of US football

Keith Andrews, Brentford's new manager. He played for Blackburn maybe 15 years ago, totally forgot him until he succeeded Thomas Frank.

Someone mentioned Mateja Kežman in another thread.and I remembered him.
I faintly remember hum being linked with us.

I actually think Obertan gets a bit of undue stick because he was signed at the same time as Bebe, who was much, much worse. "Bebe and Obertan". Don't get me wrong, he was nowhere near good enough, but he's far from the worst player to get a meaningful amount of minutes at United over the past 30 years.

Scored a goal game in Eredivisie and was then fecking useless for Chelsea.

I remember that he didn't score his first goal for months, and Mourinho let him take a penalty when they were 3-0 up against Newcastle, which he scored. Shortly after, there was some little feature on him on Grandstand, or something, where they interviewed him, and they showed that fecking penalty about 3 times with "Ashes" by Embrace playing

A wonderkid who had a disappointing career. My only memory of him is a match from Euro 2000 where he was subbed on and immediately made a very harsh tackle and got a red.

John Curtis. I remember thinking he would become a really good United defender.
Based on Football / Championship Manager I thought the same too.

But there are several players who fit into that category, some which I only just remembered like Erik Nevland and Fabien Brandy

Bebe had a decent career in the end. Would be close with Obertan for who had the better career. Bebe plays for Ibiza now too so that's probably fun
