Players you had forgotten existed

Kagawa, former United player, who now plays for a team in Japan.

Cavani, former United player, who now plays for Boca Juniors

Podolski, plays for a team in Poland.

Jeff Hendrick, found out he retired recently, he's currently on Virgin Media 2 for CL coverage. Fr Stone wouldn't have a look in.

Boufal was on the bench for Union Saint-Gilloise tonight.

I remember him years back scoring a wonder goal for Southampton and people losing their minds...and then he didn't do anything after and probably went back to France...can't remember.

Adnan Januzaj, Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford were all involved in today’s Sevilla vs Barcelona match. Makes me feel quite weird.

Just seen a video of Jonjo Shelvey missing a penalty on his debut for Arabian Falcons FC of the United Arab Emirates Second Division (it's actually the third tier).

That's a name I haven't seen in ages.

This. Eric Bailly looked bullish for Oviedo against Barca last weekend. Santi Cazorla was slick as well for his hometown club which was class tbf. But La Liga is genuinely weird these days. Level has dropped massively.

Crazy. So he was so promising and another one we gave a long contract to. I looked him up Wiki and in all time with us - he only scored a total of 5 goals! That can’t be right.

Cazorla is still playing? After his issues with injury that is quite impressive.

Aye it is, 63 games, 5 goals & 5 assists

 fecking hell, must be doing it for the free Nandos

Yeah took me aback when I saw him on teamsheet. But he held the ball up well and kept them ticking when given the opportunity. Played some really dangerous balls in from set pieces as well. Barca were much more comfortable when he came off.

Class player and probably the most two-footed I’ve ever seen play live.

Lovely player, good to hear he is still delivering!

Dani Guiza, had the season of his life in 2007/2008 with 27 goals in La Liga. Finished as the top goal scorer ahead of the likes of Eto'o, Villa, Van Nistelrooy, Forlan and Aguero. Managed to get into the Spain squad for the Euros and to win it.

Currently still playing at the age of 45..

speaking of oldies, R. Santa Cruz (44) and Oscar Cardozo (42) are still playing at Libertad. that has to be the oldest pair of strikers around. 5 straight national titles for them as well, according to wiki.

I live in Spain and just saw Fernando Llorente on a shaver ad.

Not only had I forgotten he existed, I'm surprised he's still well known enough to feature on national TV.

Handsome chap though

Benjamin Massing, if you're going to be remembered for a red card, make it a good one.

After that game, were Cameroon played rough as hell and got their win, they played some really really cool football (a tad too much naif too). They were really fun to watch (even when kicking your arse, that was fun too)

Not to mention he's turning 41 in December. I can't remember the last time I've heard of a 41 year old outfield player playing in a decent level league.

Hugo Rodallega who played for Wigan and Fulham.

Still playing for Santa Fe in Colombia at the age of 40. Top goalscorer in their domestic league right now.

Randomly started playing at a different Colombian team in Football Manager (Atletico Nacional) so was looking into the league to better understand it and ran into his name.

A short reel about Jack Rodwell appeared in my YouTube feed the other day. Apparently he is still playing in Australia. Was supposed to be the next big thing before injuries ruined him.

Talking of ex Everton youth players, Jose Baxter was being touted as the new Rooney at one point.

Martock Vermijl, Guillermo Varela & Alexander Büttner.

Three random fullbacks from back in the day.
