I've finally been playing Astro Bot. Every positive thing that's been written about it can't even do it justice, it's pure brilliance! The first world was great but I've just done a couple of levels in the second world and the creative design is stunning. This is not just an experience that's elevated by the use of VR, it's an experience that simply isn't possible without VR. It's like platform games suddenly make sense in a way I'd never even realized before. It just feels natural. I feel like a little kid discovering video games all over again!

which is brick hard
Duck, shoot from behind cover, blind fire... That should help.

Yeah Astro Bot is amazing, no hype. Hoping for a sequel or DLC.

I had pretty much given up on PSVR but i picked up Knockout League and Creed on a whim and they are great for tricking yourself into exercise.

Worth getting this as a Xmas present this year or is the new PlayStation/ Xbox Vr out next year for Xmas 2020?

Not keen on spending a grand on it if it’s only for a year

Feet up at home.
Try the mage's tale. Might have the name wrong but it's close. It's excellent pretty much the game I always wanted on vr

AFAIK there is no XBox VR, and PSVR2 probably isn't out for a few years....

So it will last a while, and if you wait till black Friday then it will be a considerable amount less than a grand (£150~)

Thanks, I may well keep an eye out on the sales leading upto Christmas then

I’ll also need to buy a PlayStation, always had Xbox. That’s where I got the grand figure from

if one is a novice gamer, better to buy a PSVR set or stump up a bit more for the Oculus Quest?

what's the porn like on both?

Have you set it to your eyes in the ps settings? That actually helps.

Also, play with the various comfort settings in game. Each game has various ways to help with that.
Yeah, I figured out that putting the camera movement setting back to gradual instead of smooth helped alot.

I'm almost ashamed of how scary it is by the way. I keep telling myself, you're a grown man, it's a video game, you can open this door, it's not real:nervous:

TBF you should work your way up to RE7, start with stuff like Superhot/Beat Saber (no motion), then try Astro Bot/Blood & Truth (a little bit of motion), then go on to your RE7s, Skyrims and Wipeouts (which is glorious but fecking intense).

Edit: Sounds like you're okay with the motion, never mind...

Have you played either of Knockout Kings or Creed?

I'm in a mood for a boxing game (and need some exercise badly ) but can't decide between them.
I really liked Knockout League if that's the one you meant? Haven't played Creed. BoxVR is great cardio but there not much gameplay it's more for training. Hope that helps...

Cheers mate, yeah I meant League. Is it true it's about pattern recognition and not about free boxing though?

I've recently been on the Ring fit and yesterday went a few fights on Wii Sports boxing, so I'm trying to keep in shape gamer style  (though my Wii arms are killing me today, I forgot how much the boxing on that really worked you out!)

Anyone know if the current VR set is gonna carry on being compatible with PS5 and the next gen VR games?

For those of you fortunate enough to have tried both Playstation VR and Occulus - is there a big difference between the two? I'm assuming Occulus would be a higher spec?

I've got both, Oculus is a big upgrade better resolution sharper image, the controller tracking is amazing and Half Life Alyx is one of the best experiences you can play its unbelievable.

That is what I thought - thanks. Havent tried the playstation VR but my lucky nephew got the Occulus (not the rift, the cheaper one) and it really is quite amazing even just playing the small demo games. Would love to try Alyx.

Im referring to the rift, i think the quest is the cheaper one, im guessing its a bit closer to the PSVR as it's not got a powerful PC as hardware, Alyx needs to be tried to appreciate just how good the potential of VR is.

PSVR is still great for the initial experience graphics aren't actually that important in VR as you get lost in the world anyway.

Oh wow! Been waiting for VR2 for PS5 but this is tempting to get one for.
