Decent performance, very good result. Defensively solid, thought Fellaini had a good game.

Zlatan is class. Rooney is shit. Jose should be happy, Pogba still to come into this side

Happy with that considering our poor pre season preparations. Think there's a lot to come from this team.

Not at all bad once they'd gifted us the first goal.
Roll on Friday.

Started off slow, grew into the game and produced some nice stuff in the second half. Then we closed it out nicely despite the wonder goal from Bournemouth.

Defence looked very solid which is promising. Now with Pogba coming in it'll be even better :D

We could have played better but we still battered them.

Good result. Tough first game but we came out strongly.

Good win, shame about their goal but there's little you can do with that. Thought Blind and Bailly were very good, especially Blind.

Scoring 3 goals in when playing average is a good sign.

Positives: Bailly, Valencia
Negatives: Rooney, Martial.

Top of the league, just need to win our next 37 to be champions.

Solid defence today! I don't recall de Gea having to make a save except for the corners around the 93th minute! (and the goal maybe)

Good way to start José's reign here. It's been a long time since we've had a convincing away win despite a few shaky moments. Standard de Gea save to cap it off.

The complaint I have is how we switch off when we think we've won the game. It's gone on for as long as I've been a fan of this club and I hope José snaps that out of us. We were so laboured in our pressing when it was 3-0, and I saw their goal coming a mile off.

  • Never been happier that De Gea had a meh game
  • The center backs were like a brick wall
  • Shaw and Valencia added a lot of width
  • Fellaini was damn near perfect for us
  • Herrera took a while but he got going and did well
  • Rooney was very very average
  • Zlatan was Zlatan
  • Martial took a while but started doing his thing
  • Mata was pretty good
The footy was far better and we still have plenty to add in our team too

3 goals without playing well....I think that's all that needs to be said. Goals shouldn't be as hard to score as LVG made it look. That's what's refreshing about today. Flexible approach based on the opposition with large doses of pragmatism...with the odd stellar performance thrown in. That's what I'm looking for in Joses first season.

Got some born bastards in the team.

We're gonna be difficult to bully this year
With Bailly and Zlatan some opposition players are going to end the games with some bruises.

No complaints about that. The first few games are mostly just about getting points on the board and building momentum. Job done, and really really exited about what's to come.

Top of the league.

Bit of a hiccup for the goal, but the back four were rock solid throughout. Blind's standing tackles were solid, and Bailly takes no prisoners. It was great that he was making their fans whinge when his challenges were solid and fair.

Fellaini was very good today too. Kept it simple, held the ball and used it well.

Knowing that we still have Pogba and Smalling to come back is encouraging as well. A tough away game comfortably won.

Zlatan reminds me of Cantona.

We have lacked that swagger, arrogance and confidence for a long time. Also the physicality and aggression from him, Bailly and Fellaini was refreshing - last season we seemed to be a team of pushovers with no fight, but today we bullied Bournemouth.

After a sub-standard pre-season, this threatened to be a tricky tie, but we did well. We defended well mainly, and Rooney and Mata scoring will boost their confidence. Zlatan doesn't need that, but it's reassuring for the fans that he scored. I think despite his record last season there's still a few question marks over how he will adjust to United and the PL, but he's gone a long way to proving that he's going to be a great signing.

And Bailly! That was a great debut. His performances so far have given me a tingling feeling. I think we might have someone special on our hands.

Fellaini did great too, very promising.

I was impressed. We looked defensively solid, scored 3 goals, and had a few other chances as well. It was an easy win, and hopefully a sign of things to come.

With Pogba and Mkhitaryan to be added to the mix, I see no reason why we shouldn't be challenging for the title.

Our squad now oozes with genuinely quality.
