By far and away our worst performance of the season so far. No intensity whatsoever.
The rot has to be so deep on this club. My Lord, we are lacking everywhere. He has to go but so do many players. So many passengers on this squad and just aren’t very good.

The team is broken. The manager can't inspire them mentally or set them up tactically to get a good performance. I don't see a plan that can help the team break down a defense. We just feck around at the back, sometimes get a ball to the wings where we feck up the delivery. We might press intensely at times but the intensity in passing is nonexistent. We had 60+ minutes to chase a game and made one penalty. That's unacceptable.

The players can't win duels unless it's against a big side at home. Bruno has crumbled under the pressure. Dalot was never good enough in attack and now has a large role in it. Cunha and Mbeumo have to beat a man constantly to get involved and Sesko is never found at all. Having zero pace at the back 5+a shaky GK (even though Bayindir did decently today) is a recipe for disaster.

The biggest problem is that we need our team to be near perfect to get wins. One underperformer (Bruno) or a missing piece (Casemiro, Mazraoui) and it all goes to shit. You cannot rely on all of your players being superior to their counterparts in every department to win a football match. We'll never have a squad like that in the PL.

It’s becoming increasingly difficult to criticise individual players. When the entire team is that bad - hard to think of any player deserving of anything more than a 5/10 rating - you have to conclude the problem lies elsewhere.

no plan B. Rely on Mbeumo crosses, once every 20 min.

We didn't deserve to win, but that decision of no red was appalling. One of the worst var decisions ever.

Amorim missed a trick by not subbing off De Ligt for Heaven. The third CB sub would have done the trick.

It was quite ironic that despite having the best shot-stopping game of his United career, Bayindir still spills one and ends up diving out of the way of another. I will never understand what our GK plan was this summer.

We've neutered Bruno, isolated Sesko, and left the brunt of the attacking responsibility on the shoulders of our wing backs. Our defenders are rather clueless when they have the ball, no one knows each others' movement off the ball - like they're strangers meeting for a Sunday stroll in the park. Our manager will get sacked before he changes formation and his subs - as usual - leave us weaker than before.

Everyone and their dog knows Amorim needs to go - no competent management would have let him survive post Grimsby. Yet he will stay because INEOS are more afraid of looking like they've fecked up than actually doing things right. The years since Ole have been the footballing equivalent of Chernobyl.

Best United players:

No one was good today, but::
1) Dorgu
2) De Ligt
3) ??

Worst United players:
1) Bruno
2) Maguire
3) Mbeumo

The worst thing I see is that literally every player wearing United top did not do the basics right all game, passing, movements, positioning, aggression, etc...

I watched Mbeumo boss it with Brentford, Cunha with Wolves, Sesko in Germany, yet today they looked so immature in how they played today, Brentford weren't good at all, like nowhere near good as 3-1 win would suggest, all they did was literally just doing the basics right.

We are cursed, our players literally forget how to play football with us.

My friends (do not support or follow United) watching the game with me say that they are shocked to see how a group of highly paid football professionals play this bad all the time, it baffles them, all game they said United can't string along 2 or 3 passes together, one of them said the kids he coaches in the school play better than United, obviously hyperbole but I couldn't argue against that while watching the game

Awful start. Started a comeback…
Rest of it was ruined by the fact we should have had 30 minutes against 10 and a penalty without distractions.
You can’t tell me the game wasn’t influenced by the referee and VAR

Can’t get any worse than…. Can it , enough is enough chasing a goal and we’re passing across the back line , how Kobe isn’t getting in that starting line up and Yoro beggars belief , and there’s got to be someone better than Dalot , fed up with it all now sorry to say but a change is needed !!!

There was a passage of play early on where Brentford played a ball over the top. Maguire had all the time in the world to deal with it, and could have brought the ball under control or played it back to the keeper. Instead, he opted to clear it into row z.

I remember it because it characterises our mentality right now. No confidence anywhere on the pitch, no trust in one another, and no game plan.

Never mind the big picture, the absolute basics are evading us right now.

6 league games in and our much anticipated new attack has scored just 2 goals in those 6 games.
I can’t see any of them reaching double figures before the end of the season, with this set up.

We’ve been saved by Bruno’s goal contribution over the last 2 seasons, but he’s going to struggle to get into double figures playing so deep in this flawed “system”.

This is definitely relegation form, unless something drastic changes.

.

A complete and utter disappointment for a performance and result. Again. Sick of Amorim.

By the way, it’s no longer about the formation. Maybe we get in a new guy who plays that way, maybe we don’t.

But Amorim has been unable to translate his ideas into any sustained success in 10 months here. That is enough time to make a decision and he has to go.

Asking him to change tactics is giving him an excuse when he gets the sack.

I just don't understand the formation.

Why is Shaw in the back three with two CBs?

Is Shaw a LB in that back three?

What's Dorgu's role? A LB or a winger or some weird hybrid?

Is Mazraoui playing as some makeshift winger or an advanced RB?

If so, is Dorgu an advanced LB?

And if THAT is true, are we playing with two LBs???

Or is Shaw a CB????

And if he is playing as CB then why is he playing ahead of Yoro??????

And having two no.10s is just bizarre. Cos it's like having three as we have Bruno. So Ugarte is on his own??????

I genuinely have no idea and I'm sorry if the above is obvious but if anyone can help me out here I'd much appreciated.

Can’t really pick a man off the match. If Bayinder hadn’t palmed that 2nd to the striker and let the ball phase through him for the 3rd I might actually have considered him.

That just shows how bad everyone was. I mean Sesko basically did nothing but has a goal so maybe him.

Every single player looks awful under this manager now. Got to go.

There was another moment not long later when he made a defensive header under moderate pressure and there were three players in acres of space, two United blokes and one Brentford and Maguire headed it straight to the Brentford bloke.

Just terrible now. This is torture to go through. Can’t keep having these results. So poor! Their goals, honestly we are weak at the back. Why play the offside trap that high up when you will alway lose a foot race? Why can’t any of our keepers hold a ball or actually push it away? Their last goal, sorry, how does the keeper get so beaten that far out?

It’s called chaos !

….or insanity.

So far this season i've been unable to see the advantage of being without European matches.

My thoughts on todays performance - or lack of:

The one man pressure system is failing to work again. There is absolutely no running or changing of positions in the build up. Most duels are lost. Players look tired. Players looking clumbsy on the ball. Players have given up. Again. Perhaps it's time for Senne to get a chance in goal.

Sir Jim should keep the circus tent plans, cuz we've got the best performers in the country.

Come on ffs United. My friends are absolutely horrible to be around. And have been so for long enough.

Id like to see a poll, would be interesting to see if anyone still backs him (bar our clueless owners) and if so, why?
I'm not defending him any more as some of his decisions are baffling, but we could bring in prime Fergie and he'd be undone by these owners and this dressing room. Until we get rid of the players who have been through multiple managers, there's no point.
