PL W FA Premier League

Manchester United 4:2 Brighton & Hove Albion

Post-match discussion

We made it difficult for ourselves and still won with a good margin. That's a hell of an improvement on what we have seen up until a few weeks ago.

Those subs pretty much confirmed what we already knew, new LWB ans CM(maybe even 2) needed badly.

Other than that, lovely 3 points!

Oh and Taylor continues to be a massive cnut.

Its been a long long time since we've seen a performance of that calibre.

Ignoring the part when the subs came on of course.

3 wins in a row! 4th in the table for at least another 30 minutes
We played well for the most part. Great goals!
The ref was disgraceful!

Beating Brighton feels great. They have had our number for far too long.

That's what pace and power gets you. Mbeumo latched onto the ball so quickly that he had time to pick his spot.

We were good in spells whilst moving into a 3-0 lead but also far too sloppy around the middle of the park and final third. We’re incapable of keeping the ball, hence turning it over and letting the opposition progress through us too easily. Lucky to be 3-0 IMO. Brighton were poor for a lot of the game but had moments until we made our subs and they started getting a foothold.

3-0 would have flattered us. The only positives I take from today are that Cunha and Mbeumo are a threat, and we scored the 4th goal when under pressure and many a United team since Ole would have finished 3-3.

Strength in depth isn’t something we have. Regardless of that, our first eleven have to become more fluid, cohesive and do the basic more often than they are. We’re less shit than previous months, probably because we’re actually starting to score goals, but we’re not a good side yet. Plenty to work on.

Excellent stuff. Been a long time since we were decidedly good and won a game that wasn't easy or with mitigating circumstances.

Ecstatic. Our first choice have some proper players there. Cunha, Mbeumo, Sesko and Lammens are fantastic additions and we need more of their quality. Amad is quality, CBs were solid, Bruno left it all out there like he always does and Casemiro still has that quality left even though his legs are gone.

Unfortunately it's clear that our second string aren't even good enough to hold a 3-0 lead. But feck analyzing stuff for now, we won 3 PL games in a row. Great night!

Very good result

Brighton were never quite as bad as the 2 and 3 goal seperation. They looked like they'd score eventually and they did. The 2nd made things a bit tense, but credit to Heaven and Mbeumo for being altert and trying to still get a goal at the end and finishing it.

Bruno and Casemiro deserve lots of apologies, but wont be surprised when they dont get them. They battled and won the ball, Casemiro got some luck for his goal, Bruno had a few nice dribbles and our joint most key passes with Mbeumo 2 each. Brighton's midfielders Baleba and Ayari had more of the ball because Brighton are good at building from the back and they pick it up deep and mostly just do the basics with their passing but they were outfought with our midfielders winning the ball more and having more impact on the game.

Nice to outperform xG positively, we hardly ever do that to this extent. And nice to knock 20M of Baleba's asking price.

Great performance. Cunha and Mbuemo are beasts. The goals will come for Sesko and in the meantime he is stitching things together up top nicely.

I saw nothing of Baleba that looked even remotely like a 100 million player

Our pressing and winning of second balls in this game is the best I’ve seen from us in a very long while

Heroes:
Cunha
Mbeumo
Lammens
Sesko (for his overall play, should have scored mind)

Pr*cks:
Taylor (shockingly bad)
Neville
PL - for letting abysmal officiating to continue
To be fair, thanks to the ref letting everything go, we got that first Mbuemo's goal. Fair trade off for all the other ref's shenanigans that happened throughout the game.

Mbeumo is absolutely class and has been since the first game of the season.

Never tires and always fights until the whistle blows.

Subs really unsettled us. Definitely need reinforcing in the middle of the park.

Great win. Was really nervous when we subbed Amad off. We lost a lot of momentum, although we should have scored a 4th almost immediately. Still, I'll take it.

I'm ever so happy, that's a good performance. The new players have brought character, which we missed. Bruno's game is easier because you have a front three that carries a load.

Worrying last 15 mins and we must add to the squad in January.

Mainoo, Zirkzee, Dorgu... these players need to step up, two, three gears... we looked flat when these three came on. Can't accept that.

Tbf, Brighton are a bloody good team though. So this is another big win.

Excellent win but amorim nearly threw it away with the early subs. Should have been the 85th minute when he made them IMO.

Bryan is immense as is cunha.

Phew...was bricking it at 3-2 but so pleased this team has taken a giant leap in not throwing tge game away. Mbeumo was immense and really demonstrating he wasnt a one season wonder (like some so-called journos told us) and also Cunha showing excellent quality.

Special mention to ref...a truly dreadful performance and should be demoted to championship!

We're still extremely ropey defensively but the players in attack are making the difference. Even around the goals there was some nice link play between Amad, Mbeumo, Cunha and Sesko.

Structurally we're always going to struggle for periods in games with just two in midfield. Also bizarre that he's messing around with certain subs so early. Shaw and Amad were playing well and taking them off so early changed the dynamic of the game

Really happy with the win and great to see that our summer business seems to have moved us forward.

No need to make such sweeping in-game changes with one game a week though.

Ive beaten the drum for a Fernandes/Mainoo midfield

I won't anymore....

such a drop off after subs

Good performance and Cunha/Mbuemo are fantastic

All Attacking players showed their class today. loved the pressing and intricate passing. pity that we let 2 goals in. First was a great FK and second one was basically Zirkezee at fault. Loved the feeling of watching united of old attacking like a pack of wolves.

Some of the subs haven’t played for a while so they won’t be match fit so please don’t criticise them.
Good win
Mbuemo and Cunha class
Mbuemo is our Salah
We need a proper midfielder to replace Cas

Beating Brighton feels great. They have had our number for far too long.
And they've also come off some good results recently, off of beating Chelsea and Newcastle. So this was a very good result and performance(beside the last 15-20 minutes after the subs).

It has been ages since we last won 3 in a row. Well done to the whole team and hope this is just a start to a good run.
From this game we can also tell that we desperately need to get a potential replacement for Casemiro. As much as the criticisim thrown at him for past years, we can tell the instant difference in the whole game play once he is off. You can't be a dud in the team and win 5 Champions League title.
Mainoo doesn't seem comfortable playing at the position and may be better off further up.

Mbuemo, Bruno, Cunha all brilliant and some other standouts.

Subs were horrid except Zirkzee
