Good Craig got his c'nuppins
Win on Thursday and tonight means nothing to me.
But the answer to why is clear? Not as mind boggling as hoping we lose
Yeah. Think this is Ole's statement about the fixture schedule. Hope Leicester lose the cup final now. Bring them back down to earth after beating Manchester United reserves.Thought the reserves and kids did us proud, all things considered.
Horrible situation to be put in by the FA. Dangerous to the players and questions the integrity of the league. Shameful really.
It wasn’t a pass back, he played it nicely into Greenwood after doing well to win it from a long ball in the first place imo. Just because Greenwood does well to make space for himself it doesn’t mean Amad didn’t do well too. Negativity being seen as realism is a bit of a fallacy imo that’s used quite a bit. Your opinion being a negative one doesn’t mean it’s correct, I think you’re too harsh. There's a difference between negativity and realism buddy. He played a 5 yard pass back to Greenwood who demonstrated excellent dribbling to bring the ball into the box and open up a scoring opportunity. If you think that Elanga had a good game them I'm afraid we didn't watch the same game. Let's just end it there because I know you're the type who could go on for a while going round in circles.
Think it was the other 34 games myself mate.Gave City the title today, which is miserable in and of itself.
Except for when you want to stick it to Klopp I guessNever make a sub when facing a corner. Golden rule.
Im not at all. I got attacked a few weeks ago for saying he’s well off it and we would play a lot better without him as a focal point in the attack. I think that’s slowly been proven correct with Pogba on the left, Cavani hitting similar numbers with minimum fuss and Greenwood suddenly coming to life. Our overall play has improved and our attack is a lot more unpredictable and hard working without him. I get a lot of you guys really love him but he shouldn’t be nailed on as he was for most of this season if he’s not fit and he was poor again when he came on today. I’m not looking for another Rashford argument with anyone but where’s the harm in pointing out what I was saying is correct?Matic was the worst player on the pitch in my opinion
Irrelevant, add something new, you're on repeat.
That's a real downer alrightTitle's gone
Disagree.Watch the two goals back. He was awful in both. Watch the chance Ihaenacho had, he was awful for that too. Then there were the passes he gave away leaving us to have to drop back quick. He was awful.
His job wasn't easy with those around him but he made a hash of so much.
So what did you want Ole to do, play the full strength team in three games in six games ahead of a final?Feels Like United went out of a competition with a whimper, there is no elite mentality in Ole, and It feels like he is pinning his hopes on Winning the Europa league.
Where was the not over until its officially over mentality?
If he does not manage to win the europa league this season then in general its another poor season.
VDB,Mata,Matic all players that could easily be let go.
Williams needs to be sent out on loan or sold, the Rashford sub was pointless because the only thing he offered was conceading a goal.
In general , United lacking a killer mentality.
Eh? He was the one player breaking up play and also not being sloppy with the ball. I think only our two centre backs, Matic and Greenwood from that starting eleven were any good at all. Amad worked hard closing down and you can sense ability, but he doesnt look ready to step up at the moment. Elanga looks absolutely rapid and also looked very nervous, good experience for him though.Matic was the worst player on the pitch in my opinion
Irrelevant, add something new, you're on repeat.
I hope they win the cup. I like trophies being shared around smaller teams. It’s what makes the league great.Yeah. Think this is Ole's statement about the fixture schedule. Hope Leicester lose the cup final now. Bring them back down to earth after beating Manchester United reserves.
Expected it but was still slightly taken aback by how poor we actually were. All will be forgiven if we can get a win Thurs but sadly with Maguire missing, the rest of our defenders are not PL quality and we would have to score 3-4 to win!
[/QUOTE
Well I thought our defenders played well, after the first 15/20 minutes. Williams probably the weakest of the four, but Leicester's first goal, and the Iheanacho chance that De Gea saved were caused by Matic not picking up runners, and the winner caused by both Rashford losing his man, and Matic static, and not attacking the balI. Can only remember one other chance for Leicester, when Tielemans hit the post.Expected it but was still slightly taken aback by how poor we actually were. All will be forgiven if we can get a win Thurs but sadly with Maguire missing, the rest of our defenders are not PL quality and we would have to score 3-4 to win!
You would expect Leicester, with the supposedly top class midfield of Ndidi, Tielemans and Perez, to dominate a midfield of Matic, Van Der Beek and Mata. I was actually disappointed with Leicester overall, we dominated them for the last 15 minutes or so.
Henderson catches that corner.why can’t we defend corners? It’s gotta be a coaching thing?
You'd be wrong to think I'm one of those that love him, it's just about time you spoke about something else, first comment in the post match thread from you was unsprisingly a negative comment about Rashford.Im not at all. I got attacked a few weeks ago for saying he’s well off it and we would play a lot better without him as a focal point in the attack. To anyone who can do maths. They’d have fecked it up even if we’d won, they’re that shit. But the answer to why is clear?
No chance. United fans want to beat Liverpool more. Now lets just hope we do.So what did you want Ole to do, play the full strength team in three games in six games ahead of a final?
Decent Line up !? And then that decent line up play against Liverpool after 48 hours? Rotation doesn't rest a lot in quantity and quality with a decent line up.I know. I wanted to win every remaining game and push City to the wire.
I am a big fan of Ole's work - but I feel he got it wrong tonight. He seems to have got caught up in trying to prove a point to the FA about the fixture pile up.
He could easily have played decent starting line ups against Leicester and Liverpool while still rotating.
I doubt he would have fielded that team if 76,000 people had been there.
Well what did he do when he came on? Lost his man for the corner and ran around dribbling into opposition players. The young lads did more. It is what it is.You'd be wrong to think I'm one of those that love him, it's just about time you spoke about something else, first comment in the post match thread from you was unsprisingly a negative comment about Rashford.
Thank you.Can we just lock the thread and move on. Almost everything that happened is pretty irrelevant. Tough to even judge the likes of Matic and Mata as they haven’t played any kind of regular football, and they were playing with a completely disjointed and thrown together team.
BT keep repeating the fact that Leicester’s team cost less than ours at £210 million. I added ours up to £190 million
Yeah he was beating the “Matić is terrible” drum all match, when he was clearly the best of our midfielders. Huge agenda on this one.Eh? He was the one player breaking up play and also not being sloppy with the ball. I think only our two centre backs, Matic and Greenwood from that starting eleven were any good at all. Amad worked hard closing down and you can sense ability, but he doesnt look ready to step up at the moment. Elanga looks absolutely rapid and also looked very nervous, good experience for him though.
Our full backs were poor, especially WIlliams who looks to have lost confidence, VDB was anoymynous
I know what you mean. They have never won the F.A.Cup have they? Actually not sure I fancy a Chelsea double, because I hope they win the CL.I hope they win the cup. I like trophies being shared around smaller teams. It’s what makes the league great.
Of course they were happy today, the relief must be huge. They have been imploding again but it’s hardly surprising when they have a much smaller budget than the bigger teams and less chance to rotate throughout the season. They looked gassed and sloppy. Hopefully with less pressure on them, they’ll be able to properly express themselves in the cup final. They deserve a top four finish.
First goal Matic gets completely dragged towards the ball, let's the man completely run off him to make a cross. That is Matics only job to stop that happening.Disagree.
Watch the entire match; Being beaten on the post by Soyuncu can happen and yes can do better but Rashford had him.
The rest of the match he was our midfield and did very well, shielding, passing, driving and covering.
The first goal is a combination of 3 players pushing high all together and a very credit worthy ball into the space.
Exactly right. No they’ve never won it. And I find them winning less offensive than Chelsea. Especially as, as you say, a Chelsea CL victory is better than City.I know what you mean. They have never won the F.A.Cup have they? Actually not sure I fancy a Chelsea double, because I hope they win the CL.
I thought Matic played well.Think Matic & Mata shown theyre completely done at this level.
Tuanzabe seemed to have a very good game, a couple of moments on the ball were ropey but did well defensively.
Other than that I thought it was a good run our for a few players. Never want to drop points but this was probably the best scenario in which to do so. If we win on Thursday it will have been worth it.
I think that dropping to your knees at full time to celebrate a win against some reserves that had already been sewn up around half an hour ago is embarrassingly small time.Do you think that there's possibly a chance that they might just be excited to have got a crucial 3 points in the CL race? Especially after capitulating against Newcastle under the pressure?
Or do you think it's just the prestige from beating the United second XI.
But we dont get to put the nail in the coffin on Thursday if we won tonight. Im in the lose tonight camp, especially after the news about Liverpool wanting Sancho broke yesterday and Salah likely going to PSG.To anyone who can do maths. They’d have fecked it up even if we’d won, they’re that shit.
