If you have an ambition to win the title this year of your own volition, then as far as I can see you need to aim for 85 points. It looks extremely unlikely that more than one team will reach that threshold. Somewhere between 80 and 85 may turn out to be enough, but then you're dependent on things you can't control.
Liverpool is now very close to the point where 85 points is no longer realistic even as an aim. They can only drop a further 6 points this season if they are to reach 85. Another loss, and that's pie in the sky. Which means they are also very close to a point where they have to accept (not just in Klopp's post match comments, but really, truly, fundamentally) that they are now a side that has to fight really, really hard for a top 4 finish with at most an outside chance at the title if everyone else screws up badly. And even that is going to require a marked improvement in results - not just from where they've been recently, but from the first half as a whole.
