Lingard scores in his first home game after a 1 season long loan. Ronaldo also scores in his first home game after a 12 season long loan.

This Rolando fella we picked out of obscurity seems like he could be useful.

Ronaldo MOTM.

A 4-1 win is always a glorious result, but we’re still too reliant on pulling out individual moments of greatness. Still, it’s so great see United thrash an opponent at OT.

Couldn't have been that much better really

We have a genuine chance this season with this squad.

I thought Varane was very good. Matic good in the first half but tired later on. AWB still don't know how to play. We didn't create much though.

Decent game. Far from perfect, but win is a win.
Key takeaways:
- Ronaldo is amazing. Simply amazing.
- Lingard is probably more ready than Sancho. More experience in the league and seems like he might be maturing. Could be knee jerk reaction, but time will tell.
- Matic is past it. Too many simple mistakes, did not control midfield as he once has. Still better than Fred tho?
- We need to improve our midfield and thus passing. It is still slow, and it still is full of errors that lead to dangerous counter attacks

I am hoping there will be progress so we look like a top team. Verane and Ronaldo should help but there is just a hole in that midfield. Fred and Matic are just not good enough.

Felt like the fergie days were back. some great attacking play especially 2nd half. Still need to fix the soft centre midfield though or it will be you score 2 we can score 3 Mentality.

I think we’ve just got to hope this is another RVP season. We’ve seen that we’re still vulnerable when players go at us.

Started off slow, dominant but hard against the bus park. Ronaldo showing his world class strikers instinct though. Opportunistic movement that only Cavani in our squad also does for the 1st, brilliant touch and finish for his 2nd. Pogba and Varane brilliant again IMO.

I hope Ole swaps Greenwood and Sancho around some. We don't need everyone cutting in constantly.

Great result and 3 beautiful goals.
Weirdly, we weren't as dominant as the scoreline suggests, certainly not in terms of chance creation. I'm looking forward to when we are.
Are we expecting 32 goals in one match?

Once Sancho gets acclimated and we get in the swing of things we are going to be a real force.

Maguire is a massive liability. 40 yards out of position for goal. Last season that would have been 0-1 or 1-1.

Viva ronaldo

Pogba ran the show. Flawless.

Bruno's goal was fabulous.

Lingard! Who would have thought? He was decent. Keep going jesse!

Matic lost his legs in second half.

Maguire was at fault for their goal.

Varane, thank God he is playing for us in prime.

Shaw and Sancho combined well. Sancho was good. He is going to be a big star.

Greenwood was ineffective but then he arrived with that shot.

Ronaldo looked sharp. Bruno frustrating but what a finish. Pogba class. Matic played well though faded near the end. Varane class. AWB and Shaw were solid . Even got a beautiful team goal finished off by the goat Jlingz.

Teams aren't going to play as shite as Newcastle so gotta take advantage of those games when you can. This month is all about winning and getting into a rhythm of win after win after win.

A great day. Aside from some patchy moments here and there and some chemistry to work on across the front line you have to be satisfied with a talismanic performance from Ronaldo on his second debut and a hatful of goals.

Newcastle played their part and were impressive in moving the ball forward at speed, so while of course there will be sterner tests for us this game augurs well. We seem to have the squad to dig us out of situations, which we will need across a tough season.

Awesome entertainment, silly levels of attacking talent at our disposal.

Concerning as ever how easy it is to break against us at times, but that's almost inevitable if we're going to try and squeeze these attackers into the side. Let's just keep outscoring folk!
